Alright finally home with a couple of broken bones in the nose, due for an op some time in the next couple of weeks. On a side note. Would anyone know if I can remove the car from towies storage yard and get it to my place without upsetting the insurance company too much? Personally I do not see why not, it is my car after all? Or yeah, a young Chinese national has not admitted his fault and thinks he was in the right to go over a stop line, such a nice dude!

It is now at a towies compound which ironically is pretty much across the road from my place...

Yeah I'm all good apart from a broken nose and a massive headache, still at the hospital. Airbags only deployed when I hit the wall, initial impact was at the front quarter and wasn't enough to deploy the sides.

Had a similar knock, only occured at low speeds (or at least was noticeable then) while going over cracks or small bumps. Turned out one of the swaybar links had a fair bit of play (Cusco ffs), luckily 2as under warranty and got my 💰 back.. Check the links are nice and tight, check there's no play at sway bar bush mounts.

Clearly his is a rev.D or above. Pre-face/facelift lips are not really interchangeable, front/rear bumpers are different.

There was (probably still is) a BR Outback at Ajay's @Subirex Automotive, pretty sure it is a NZ new model and has folding mirrors.

I cannot even fold my mirrors!!!111 But yeah I'd rather have sunroof, GPS/McIntosh/built-in hands free and crap ton of airbags everywhere. PS: I wonder if my mirrors have motors in them... there's definitely a harness and unused plug for the control switch.

Sure.. If stock 4th gen unit had all the functionality I wanted i.e extended radio frequencies, connectivity (USB/Bluetooth), a screen for the rear view camera etc I certainly won't touch it. 5th gen BR9 got most of that plus McIntosh, no need to swap anything. Each to their own really.

A lot of OEM stuff IS a rip-off. In this particular case though there's no alternative.

Sunroofs are awesome, just wish mine had a full-on moon roof or whatever they are called. That sucks... thought most of the higher spec'd NZ new models will have one, like GTs and 3.0s.

People tend to think these are supposed to be cheap, like a $100-200 brand new and anything above that is a rip-off
