  1. Sweet mate! I'll send you an inbox with my contact to catch up here and then go to Glenorchy!. Sounds like a good plan! ;D
  2. Sweet I replayed your inbox. Do you know if here are more people near the area? I have seen thousands of Subaru in Qtwn.. it would be great to drive to Glenorchy with a caravan of Subaru =)
  3. Hi guys... wondering if there some interest to do something soon with the members of this area? I bought my Lancaster and I want to meet more Subaru lovers LOL. Any one keen? I live in Queenstown.
  4. Yeah, its a nice example ;D. For me is like to drive something even newer coz in Chile find an Outback 2001 in this conditions, that drives so smooth like mine here its really hard, and if its nice still looking like "2001". So I'm more than happy with the purchase here!. And yup, bought it in Alexandra yesterday
  5. Hi guys! As I said before...now I'm introducing my new Subaru to here and I wish to have a meeting soon around this area (Otago). Its a Subaru Lancaster 2001 with the 2002 facelift. Has 103.800kms (very low) and I'm the first NZ owner. Its the 2.5 litres with manual transmission and dual range (Hi and Lo). I just realize that the red line its @6.500RPM when the automatic ones its @6.000RPM. Does it means something? (more HP than the auto?) Its in really cool/great/nice/awesome lol conditions... Well, here the pics!
  6. I spoke with the dealer and he will change the oil and filter (some paper works say to re new it at 104.500kms and now has 103.700) so I'm thinking go to pick up the car next day off if I have time. I'm more than happy to meet up here or in Glenorchy. Should be nice to make some pics with the cars around there...so beautiful Glenorchy. And if you know any area where we can do some off road (nothing too complicate now lol) much better!
  7. This is what make a Subaru, be a Subaru lol... but its true I wouldn't change my opinion about this brand just because those specific problems. I'm pretty sure also to take the Lancaster... so as soon I get it I'll upload pictures and show it to all of you and wish to have in the short time a meeting in this area!
  8. I'm agree that every brand has trouble's, and its normal. I think the head gasket problem in the Subaru's is common just because most of the models use the same engine and you can read then people with Forester, Outback, Legacy, Impreza with the same problem. I'm not afraid of that to be honest, because also I've heard the same problem in Legacy's with 2.0 liter. Getting my "new" car with warranty I understand that this eventual problems will be covered, no? I didn't ask to the dealer so I'll now.
  9. Hahaha I saw it, its in great cond but I'm looking something a bit bigger (for that reason looking Legacy, or could be Forester). But thanks any way! ;D
  10. Because I'm not a resident, and banks doesn't give loan when you have work permit...is shit! Could be so much better getting a loan from my bank
  11. I'd like go for a 3.0R..but I don't have that cash.. I have to buy it to a dealer to get the finance and the 3.0R from dealers cost more than that
  12. Hahah well, buying to a dealer with warranty (the Lancaster has 3 years and the B-Sport 1) if I have some head gasket problem that will be covered by the warranty I guess
  13. Even that the B-Sport has 144.000kms now?
  14. Thank's for all your info guys! Good to know that the Lancaster is good on petrol with the manual trans. But what do you think to pay $11,500 for it? I'm scared looking how much does it cost a Lancaster that is not "fresh import"... its too big the difference! but yes, I haven't seen any manual with low kms... so do you think that the manual cost more?. Looking all the 4th gen othe Legacy wagon, most of them are very near to the price of this B-Sport ($11,990)... and what I think is if I need to sell the car next year, the B-Sport will be more close this price than the Lancaster...but again, I'm not sure if I'm wrong with this and maybe after a year I can sell this Lancaster manual that will still having low kms in a price close to this. In case to decide for some Legacy... the B-Sport, its a good one?, or I should look for a 2.0R or 2.5?? or 140HP are ok for this car? I'm not looking a race car, but something that will respond and give a normal petrol consume according the cc and type of car.
  15. Thanks for comments. Both has near new cambelt. The 05 was done at 13x.000kms... but what doesn't convince me its the engine, its the 2.0i (140 hp) and I think that its not enough for that car, or I'm wrong? But i'm pretty sure that I'll go for the Lancaster... what do you think about both prices? Cheers.
  16. Hi guys, how's going?? Well, I'm looking to buy something around $12,000 (no more) with finance and looking to find something fresh imported. I found 2 nice options that the finance is ok, just need to think more if I want to take it and which one. One its a Subaru Legacy 2005 B-Sport with 142.000kms (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=500464792 ) and the other one its a Lancaster 2001 2.5 MT with 103.000kms... ( http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=499658973 )both are in great conditions, the Lancaster has hi and lo ratio and the B-Sport all the features of the B-Sport but doesn't come with the spoilers (not sure how to call it) that I have seen in many B-Sport. I know both are different cars, with different propose but which one you can suggest?? Which one its easier also to sell if I need to do it or I want, and don't loose too much money? Which one give more for the money? I like go to some "off road" places, and I see the B-Sport a bit low, but is not something that I'll do everyday any way. Considering KMS the Lancaster is the best and also for the year, the B-Sport I think has the normal for the year but I don't know too much about the engine that this one has. I'd prefer the 2.0R because I know has more HP and torque and some people told me the 2.0i its to heavy the car for that engine and its not cheap on petrol for the same reason. I'd like to hear comments, opinion, suggestion that could help me to make a better decision. Cheers ;D
  17. Hahahaha yeah, I'm total agree with you. But if you compare the "NZ new" with the USDM models, those has more equipment, but its not the same than japan ones. For instants the Impreza Outback that I had, that one had heater seats, day driving lights, mirror defrosted, etc...like some ones here from Japan, but not like NZ new ones. At least in Chile the Impreza doesn't have those things. The Momo steering wheel its only in the L.L Bean Edition (USA model) and some Outback from 2002 - 2004 When my friends in Chile see the pics from here like the "net" on the back seats (not sure the correct english name), or the electical folder mirrors, the different design of the seats, etc etc... they can't believe why are so different the Subaru from Japan than the ones sold in the rest of the world... I'm glad to be here in NZ =)
  18. The south of Chile is very similar to the South Island here, we are in the same latitude as well, but going to the north change a bit comparing with here. We have in Chile STI and Turbo's but not as much like here, cause the III gen of Legacy has twin turbo can not have the steering on the left side (we drive on the left side of the car) so we didn't get the Twin Turbo models. And also we don't have imported like here, we have just "Chilean new". Actually now we have just the Legacy sedan turbo (but they don't sell the wagon turbo and I don't know why), Forester Turbo, Impreza (WRX STI) and before changed Legacy/Outback (2004 - 2009) we had the Outback Turbo from USA (was a special edition). But we don't have there Legacy's 2.5 (sometimes we had like "special editions" of the sedan with the 2.5), just 2.0 - 3.0 and now 3.6 (just for sedan, never in Chile we had a wagon with an engine bigger than 2.0 :'( ) But to be honest, for all the Subaru fans, NZ is the paradise if you haven't been in Japan, cause here we have all the versions/models from Japan... its incredible!!!. I use to take pics when I see a japanese version to share it with my friends in Chile and they cant believe it hehehe.
  19. What a shame that the Baja was just for America, its a really nice weird ute. I think the last ones are from 2007 /08 but always used the chassis of the III gen of Legacy/Outback.
  20. In USA was not a popular model, so on 2006 I think was the end of the Outback sedan. In Chile we didn't have the IV generation.. I've seen some pics on Internet and looks quite nice that one.
  21. Yes, it is!. That's a USA model that to Chile came just few units in 2002. Its also weird for us, its called Outback Sedan. The small UTE is the Baja, also from USA but in Chile we got more numbers than Outbacks Sedan
  22. Yes, that's true. Subaru has been there in Chile since ends of the 80's and has been a big/importan brand there. Chile is an important market for Subaru, when Subaru has a new model, Chile is the first country in South America after USA to show it so we have thousands of fans in our long country ;D I'd like to make in some moment a trip, going to some nice and off road place to test our cars, and enjoy a good moment with maybe a barbecue then. We should organize something hehe. Cheers.
  23. Hope you can enjoy this pics. This are some of the pictures that we toke in our meeting/tracks in Chile. As you can see we have really good places to test our AWD with beautiful landscapes similar with NZ. Enjoy! A lunch that we had with many Subaru owners after a day trip. Cheers! ;D
