  1. i cant say what you would pay to have it fitted, all depends what the person charges etc. AFAIK it will bolt into any v1/2 the engine loom should plug into your car and the ecu once again will plug straight in. so should be easy as. also no guarantee it wont fall apart, it is the old engine from my car i replaced it with a forged engine and it was a good runner beforehand. i would like to think it will hang together but i cant guarantee it. Basically i would use it if i had a car to put it in. if youre genuinely interested pm me and we can go through the finer points.

  3. went to auto sparky today, easy reset with scantool! must have just been from having clockspring disconnected during swap..
  4. Speaking as a wof inspector comments like that aren\'t helpful for anyone dude
  5. Column never turned when out. Is all aligned properly so would be unlikely to have broken clock spring
  6. Check alternator charge rate. Should be between 14 and 14.7 Volts when running. Can cause all kinds of weird problems if over or under charging
  7. i think it must have logged a code during the single turbo conversion when i swapped steering columns, hopefully just needs to just be reset with scantool

Hi all The air bag light is on in my BG5 gtb. im trying to get the flasher codes to come out of it but i seem to be missing something. does anyone know the plug/procedure to make this happen? just want to make sure its not something simple before i take it to my auto sparky mate =) cheers Richard

  13. a quick follow up on this, V2 wrx ra non abs has 1" 3 port legacy gtb has abs 1 1/16" 2 port they are the 2 i have looked at feel free to add more if you know sizes
  14. hi all im looking for someone who has a gc8 with brembos on the front who is willing to let me try one of my wheels on their car to check clearance before i buy a set of brakes myself, im in lower hutt but dont mind traveling around. will pay in beer/ free coffee Cheers Richard
  15. Hi all Buttoning up some parts of the racecar at the moment and have got to te brakes, is there any difference in diameters of brake master cylinder piston? Car is a v1 ra with no abs, upgraded to 4 pot front and still single pot rears, and would like to go to brembos later on, is a bg5 any better or should I be looking at v7 onwards stuff?

  18. hey guys thanks for the replys, im not trying to make 300kw off the stock turbo that is just the eventual aim, i am a firm believer in keep it simple and do it once do it right, so am looking for pointers as to what do do with this in mind? i heard rage do them but cant find where to buy?
  19. hi all i am getting close to finishing the mechanicals on my Ra circuit car and am trying to figure out twisted turbos, what is the actual gain in twisting it? i know it make for more free flowing intake etc but is there anything else im missing? i am running a front mount and want to flip the plenum and use a 250t unit aswell. is this a good way to go? i have v3sti unit on the motor at the moment if that is better? also is there an off the shelf twisted up and downpipe i can buy or am i best to go custom? i am looking to make between 250 and 300kw in the end... thanks for any advice you have ;D Richard
  20. Hey i heard a rumour that someone on here can do a special clubsub price on whiteline gear? looking to get a set of rear arms, anti lift kit and RCA kit for my gc8 racecar build, or recomendations on other brands which do the job better? Cheers Richard
  21. hey picked up a new engine in peices the other day, guy reckons it was a v4 sti engine but it had been transplanted and then taken out of a gtb. any way i can tell what it is? Also is there any difference between v3 and v4 heads?
  22. i have a v1 ra and i want to change to a vf22 turbo which means i need to change the manifold, whats the difference between a wrx and gtb manifold? look similar except the coil mount which doesnt matter as mines coil on plug anyway, is there anything else different between them? will use after market turbo inlet pipe aswell
  23. so in terms of gearing a 6 speed is just as good if not better than a ra box? i thought ras were different to usual 5 speeds
