  1. Yes, no heat soak and lower charge air temperatures. More consistent performance and less detonation. Hard to quantify I guess but I run mine at 17psi or more with a small FMIC. The top mount used to heat soak real quick.

What vacuum hoses? The only thing I had to change was the BOV and BOV return.

  2. Have seen this car on TM a long time ago. The mods are all good and the car is about as good as it will ever be at this point. My TT has similar mods and is pushing 200kw but that's as far is it will ever go as a TT.

So if you are looking for a good TT legacy, this is a pretty good bet.

If you want to be able to modify it further then you are stuck with engine conversion, or further suspension upgrades. In this case I think it is wise to "pick up someone else's project" as the mods done are quality and to repeat them on a standard Legacy would cost you a lot.

If you want something to continue modifying, buy something else. I see a sneaky cheap Audi S4 on trademe :P

Flipped through the fitment thread in the suspension sub forum but didn't really find anything of use.. was wondering if some light could be shed. With coilovers what sort of widths can be tucked into the wells of a BH5? I have no issue rolling and even pulling guards a little... I'd love to can it, but I'll be going for a functional height since it's a daily and the roads here can be **** at times.

    Thoughts?

45 offset with a 225 tyre can rub on the front of the rear wheels. A minor bit of rolling will make it clear fine. 215 would clear fine.

40 would rub in the rear with a 225

35 is probably going to rub & poke all round and require some effort to fit.

Canada has a rule that only a car 15 years or older can be brought in so rev d is out. That and finding a decent manual one is literally twice the price. Going to do the hose 1 and 10 mods. Will be attacking all fluids once I get it.

Ah fair enough on the Rev-D. I would have though both manual and auto are cheap as chips - they certainly are in NZ.

Let it breathe and fiddle with the VOD and then start saving for a single conversion :)

  5. Errgh. Should have bought a manual one to start with, and a revision D at that. Not entirely sure of the rational of importing a specific car and not going for the best one???

No point upgrading the callipers & rotors from stock unless you are into heavy track work or they are ridiculously cheap. Decent pads and fluid are more than capable on the street.

Front mount, exhaust and boost control is about all you can do. Try the hose 1 mod to help with VOD.
