  1. That's really not good enough is it... I am patient but not that patient haha Dunedin has nothing hence why the E-tune is so appealing for me down here too. [quote name='Andy_Mac said: Had my first tune done by Cryotune and can confirm its a completely different experience. Dave was tunes every few days, with replies to queries even quicker. Can easily go a month without hearing from Matt, his workload is just too large for what he can provide. Alot of his sparkling reviews are from people who he has done tunes for on dyno's which skews the opinion of his e-tune sideYou never do any logs in romraider and then viewed in virtual dyno? 170-180 is the max you'd see before, at the very least, needing a better cooling solution. Haven't given that a go before either... easy enough to do?
  2. Wow... well that's very interesting indeed. How long have you been trying to get things done with him now? That was one thing I really liked about Dave, so quick to reply with either a new revision or at least just to keep you in the loop... no such grace with Matt then? No idea on figures either as I haven't had it on a Dyno since it's been done.
  3. Thanks for all the previous advice on the H6 guys now for some advice on my BP5 GT-B as I've decided against getting the olds car. I've realised just how much I would end up spending on it so why not spend a little of that on my own car instead?! 👍 Keen to find out more on Matts tunes and if it would even be worth it, considering I have already had one done by Dave at Cryotune. Current tune done with a Subtech D/P as the only mod. What are people's thoughts on this? Would there really be much more to be gained?
  4. Well, I have just had another look at Learning View and the IAM is now at 0 which I can gather, with my limited knowledge, as not good at all. I know you guys said it won't be at 1 without a tune but being 0 surely must mean something is not right with this thing? I have just recently done the Subaru fuel additive along with the upper engine clean, an oil change and cleaned the MAF sensor due to the codes it had stored. Neither of the 2 earlier codes have thrown again and all of the tables are similar if not a little better than the 2nd table I posted. I know it's a very vague question but can anyone shed some light on what I should do from here? The reason I am a little concerned is the fact that I do want to get this car off them at some stage but mainly that I don't want to give it back to them if something is seriously wrong or about to go that way. Thanks again for the advice and my bad for hijacking the thread to this degree too!
  5. Really? I was unaware of that! I was sure mine was always at 1 when I was going through the process with my wagon. What are your thoughts on the MAF situation after looking at that? I have messaged Matt but am yet to hear back from him... you did warn of this haha
  6. Thanks for the replies guys... I have another quick request and that is to get some opinions on these couple of screenshots that I took today from my olds car (the one I may be buying). First one was this morning (I reset the ECU after taking this as I thought maybe it was just a couple of older stored codes). The 2nd one is after driving it to work, around town, then home again, all up about 50kms. It seems to me that the MAF sensor must be shot even though it didn't throw any codes again... but why else would the IAM and a lot of the other readings be so far out of whack? I have now cleaned the sensor and will have another check after the day tomorrow but any advice before then would be greatly appreciated, as always.
  7. Quick hijack and question guys.... I'm wanting to do headers and exhaust plus tune on the 3.0R I will be getting off my olds but need to ask this first... how many kms is too many to be doing all of this at? Their car has 160 on it atm. Is this too high to be worth doing it to?
  8. Shot for all the advice McDoof... much appreciated. You've done a lot of research and tinkering with your own exhaust to get it right I'm guessing? Anyone had any tuning done to theirs by Dave at Cryotune? He did my current car for me and I was highly impressed by him also.
  9. Unfortunately not in Auckland man, thanks though. So headers, intake, tune & most likely a set of STI Pinks would set me back how many monies? These things must sound outstanding with a decent exhaust setup on them!
  10. Good to know... is that with any supporting mods or just a straight reflash? And who did you get to do that for you?
  11. Not sure if this is the right place to be asking this but I'm interested in people's opinions and outcomes of tuning an EZ30 ('05 Spec B manual model if it makes any difference?). I know the GT's get great results as I've done it myself but just wanting to know more on these. The parentals have hinted at selling theirs and I've always wanted it just don't want to be giving away too much if I was to make the jump. Any input, muchly appreciated.
  12. Had the exact same problem with mine and got onto the same site that is posted above.. Took it to a local auto sparky and told him all I wanted done was 511 resoldered which cost me a grand total of 20 buckaroonies to do. That was about 9 months ago and it's been all good since. It may not work but it may save you a fair whack of money cause I would hate to think how much a Subaru replacement would set you back! Good luck.
  13. After all my searching this was the only thing I could find that was of any use (off NASIOC). "If you are buying used, the way to determine whether you are getting the "JDM pinks" is by a paint marking on the second coil from the top - it should be light blue. The US/SPT pinks will have a white paint mark."
  14. Just had a wee look at what markings were on my springs... Back has the blue mark like in the photo but I couldn't, for the life of me, find a mark at all on the fronts. There was a code on the sleeve that goes over the spring that I could search for but perhaps this will be a dead end if they are only identified by the coloured mark on them?
  15. Ok so completely down to incorrect springs by the sound of it then? And yeah I thought that was too much sag myself but have just learned to live with it up until now haha
  16. Hey guys thanks for the replies. I got the setup through Strongs and they were sold specifically as a wagon setup but it definitely sits about 15-20mm lower in the back (measuring centre of wheel to guard). The camber hasn't been touched in the back and is sitting at about -1deg... Would that be about factory? I'm sure they are wagon struts though as they have the same parts numbers as my original struts.
  17. Have done lowering springs in both front and back (pinks) just a shame these things sit down so much in the back, I know it's like this from factory, but why?
  18. Thanks for the reply man. They were the only ones I could find when I searched too, I guess they'll just have to do!
  19. Hey all, Wanting to buy a pair of these for the rear of my wagon, just wondering if anyone knows of an outfit here in NZ that sells them? Cheers
  20. Yep... Big mistake there haha but ohwell live and learn
  21. I knew there was going to be haters and yes it is a retarded thing to do but I just didn't want to spend all that money to find I didn't like or want the extra noise that aftermarket mufflers would create. But the beauty of this is it is easily reversible and at least now I know that I would be happy with a louder system I can go that way.
  22. Yeah I did worry about that... went for a decent drive earlier, through town and motorway, and couldn't smell anything though. Maybe it won't last this way for long at all...
  23. Really? Does it involve a drill? haha [quote name='evowrx said: Just for clarity thats an illegal exhaust leak... And yeah I realise that too man, but easily reversible if need be.
  24. Hey man Ive got one of these and have done the subtech downpipe and then a midpipe resonator due to the raspy note the downpipe creates, which I didn't particularly like. After doing this I went with Cryotune Performance for a Stage 2 Etune which has made a night and day difference from factory and, quite honestly, will be all you will need for a daily driven car. They are an awesome wagon, you won't be disappointed if you take the leap. Hope this helps.
