  1. I know it\'s a bit ridiculous, but true and is honestly a very very fast car. I\'ll get more pics of it as the new owner still uses the same mechanic frequently.
  2. Agree, 32 is very high! I\'ve never been in a car running such high boost and would not have believed it unless I saw it myself (on standard internals).
  3. He had a VF37 on his V8 STI mate. Its been running antilag and 32 PSI daily ever since I\'ve been taking my car to him which has been over 5 years now. He recently sold it (see pics on Page 4). Probably sold it for a reason hey... Its by far the quickest STI I\'ve ever been in.
  4. Manfield... Ah thats a pity! Taupo will be my track of choice, Hampton Downs is probably closer but don\'t run a dry sump yet so will stay clear due to the hills. bhavin - You can buy a brand new short block from Subaru for a little over 3k. A short block excludes the heads, but has the crank, pistons etc... Depends on what you want out of it. In my opinion a stock V7 STI engine is capable of 250kw with the right mods. As for the turbo, a twin scroll is best (in my opinion) as they have minimal lag. VF36 or VF37 would be my choice. I have a VF22 and it goes really well. Upgrade the fuel system (injectors, fuel pump, rails) and get a good tune. My mechanic had a Version 8 STI with a frount mount intercooler, flowed factory injectors, 500HP fuel pump, air intake and a Link G4 ECU (with a good tune) and he was getting 280KW at the wheels on 32PSI with factory engine / internals :
  5. Yeah, always the way unfortunately... But well worth it in your case - 321kw! Woah! That\'s madness man! Where\'s the track day as I may try join in assuming my car\'s done by the 25th... Not sure about Green... but black looks pretty good too! Will Google a few more pics before making my decision.
  6. Doh...! I should have known... Lucky for some ay! How\'s your car going? Excellent, thanks for confirming. Would like to get them fitted before I get the car back, but may take a while to get them painted etc... Just trying to decide on a colour. I\'m thinking Red & White.
  7. Still no car...! Decided to replace 4th gear which come in a set including 3rd so just waiting on these to arrive from Japan. I bought a set of front Brembo\'s and was wandering if I fit just the front\'s will this affect my brake balance front to back... ??? I doubt they\'re going to clear my (x4) sets of 17" rims so may need to use spacers (5mm) which I\'m not too happy about but I love my rims and don\'t want 18\'s... Callipers could do with another coat of paint, so will look into this prior to fitment.
  8. No, I don\'t have a deal with the guy. He will be discounting the job due to how long it\'s taken him. I trusted him before this, have been going to him for the past 5 years and haven\'t had these issues before (apart from the gearbox). It\'s beyond a joke now. The only reason I\'ve left it there is for him to fix the gearbox as I\'ve replaced all synchro\'s, bearings etc etc... pretty much the whole thing apart from the gears which appear great. At least I\'ll have a spare, just unfortunate about 4th! I\'m giving him a week. Taking it on Friday no matter what!
  9. I\'ve just spoken to my mechanic (again...) and he hasn\'t touched the car! He\'s now said he bought a second hand RA gearbox for my car as he\'s over trying to repair my original one which infuriates me as I\'ve spent over 3k on parts on the original box...! I\'m seriously thinking its time to change mechanics! I was impressed with Dtech (did the wiring loom swap) so i will be going there from now on - assuming I eventually get the car back!
  10. Car\'s been back at my mechanic\'s (H&N Automotive) and has been sitting around for a week gathering more dust... I\'m starting to get very annoyed and am seriously considering collecting the car and taking it elsewhere...! The only reason its still there is to sort the gearbox out as its still jumping out of 4th! Its been in and out of the car over 10 times now! This mechanic rebuilt it a couple of years ago and its never been right and I feel he needs to correct his stuff-up! The gearbox is worth over 3k after all of this...!
  11. ;D ;D Agreed - Image how I felt when I first saw it... Lingered around for hours
  12. I was at Mystery Creek this weekend for work, so decided to go see this car. What a great example! Sorry about the pic quality, they\'re off my phone.
  13. I agree, would much rather a JDM 2.0 I went for a drive it it the other day and I was honestly blown away with how well it handled! Very impressive! I collected my car from Dtech today and drove it for the first time! Thanks to all involved in the loom swap, its a very tidy job! I didn\'t thrash it as it still has a few loose ends that need to be tidied up, but it ran well (thank goodness)! Just need to get a few additional parts fitted, an ECU flash and the gearbox still has a niggle (jumping out of fourth) then will be back on the road. Hopefully early next week.
  14. ;D There\'s one on trademe at the moment for 50k but its been modified... One day Finally made some progress on the engine swap. Its funny how the work has been done in a week after me telling the mechanic I\'m giving him 2 weeks and if its not done I\'m towing the car elsewhere! : Had a few snychro\'s and a broken hub replaced (in the gearbox) and fitted engine components. There\'s still a bit of tidying up to do and a few more parts to fit, but the car is on its way to an auto electrician to swap the wiring loom over (D-Tec - as they\'ve done this conversion before). My mechanic traded his very nice extremely quick V8 STI in for a new sedan - the V8 was the quickest STI I\'ve ever been in and I definitely preferred it to the new sedan!
  15. ;D Won\'t be selling either set I\'m afraid as I have plans for building a 22B replica using a Retna shell. Will get there one day, just want to get my car back up and running first. Cheers.
  16. Very true, thanks. Got the adjustable arms for $140 so couldn\'t resist!
  17. Hasn\'t been much progress on the engine / loom swap... The new engine is in the car, but still waiting on 3rd synchro for the gearbox and the loom to be fitted...! I really think we need to agree on a completion date and if its not done I need to go around with a trailer and take the car to another garage! Car\'s officially been of the road for a year now... I\'ve been fitting a few additional parts while my car\'s been off the road and was wandering if anyone\'s fitted aftermarket control arms? I have (x2) sets and am contemplating on which set to fit... STI control arms (with nolethane bushes) - not adjustable. Or a set of heavy duty looking arms (not sure on brand) but they\'re adjustable. Chances are once an alignment\'s done I won\'t play around with these perhaps until a track day so don\'t see much point in fitting them... ???
  18. Splinter Subaru Forum nah they were off a v8 sti, member on here, x\'s nephew. Correct, he had to use 25mm spacers to clear the Brembo\'s so he got wider CE28\'s to clear. JoKer - Thanks for clearing up what dirty ol bc is.
  19. What\'s dirtyobc? A club, gang...? Forgive my ignorance, I\'m not a Kiwi... ;D The rims are not as perfect as I was hoping, they have a few minor curb marks, can\'t wait to fit them!
  20. V7 STI Engine is finally in, just replacing synchros in the gearbox then have the wiring to do and car will be back on the road (after a year)! Hoping to get in done by Friday! Just on my way to collect a set of CE28\'s! Can\'t wait to fit them!
  21. Just seen an S201 parked up in Tauranga! Stopped to take a look and they\'re just as ugly as all the pics I\'ve seen! Pretty rare car though.
  22. Hey man, turned out to be very slightly blown head gasket. Only ended up finding out after removing the engine - to swap it with a EJ207 (V7 STI engine). There was a bit of water in the oil when we drained it at my mechanic! Good luck!
  23. M... Those are some nice calipers! Do they have the mounting brackets (as pictured below)? I assume they do as you state they\'re a straight bolt on. Why you selling them? I was looking for a set of Brembo\'s, but these look to be in excellent condition so am very tempted!
  24. Mates rates... I wish I think it has a bit to do with the fact that I\'ve had a courtesy car the whole time. Was about to pick the car up and tow it to another garage, but when I got there the engine was finally out. I\'ve had my eye on the VF\'s on trademe, but not too keen on one that\'s been removed from a rally car. Hopefully something comes up soon. I didn\'t get a chance to check on the progress last week, so will stop in today to see how things are going. I\'m not looking forward to the wiring...
  25. ;D Its madness hey! My cars been there for just under 3 months now (just for an engine swap...)!
