  1. Couldn't find a night pic thread so thought I'd start one... I'm no pro, just enjoying shooting at night. A few pics of mine:
  2. I was just browsing tradecar view's stock and found this gem for just over NZ$24k! Surely one of you enthusiasts can afford it, considering its worth almost twice as much in NZ... http://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan%20car/subaru/impreza+wrx+sti/7640805/ Only 110 000km's, CE28's and a very dirty engine bay
  3. Just buy one of these... bit pricey at $250, but looks pretty good! http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/wheels-tyres/other/auction-384956267.htm
  4. Ichi Ban makes sense, thanks allot. Appreciate it I just got back from quite an extensive drive (made sure I had spares and tools ) and its running much better now, hopefully that's the problem solved.
  5. Hey guys, my car starting hesitating a bit last night (never done it before) I thought it was the AMF, felt like it was running on 3 at low rpm (fine when I accelerated). I checked a few things today and found this (see pictures) one one of the connectors (on the coilpack). The lead which connected to this connector was also slightly marked. luckily I have another set of leads and a few coil packs lying around (as most Subaru owners do... ) It looks like water has seeped in there somehow... ??? I'm about to take it for a quick drive, anyone know what the cause of this could be and if it would cause a problem...? Cheers. The other 3 are fine:
  6. I just had a WOF done at VTNZ and this seems to be an area of interest at the moment. While I was waiting I read some updates on regulations and tinted / stocking / painted lights are illegal and will fail at VTNZ. I had a lot of trouble with the inspector as he failed my car for the factory headlights being misaligned, so I had them set by another WOF registered garage, went back and the same guy wanted to fail me again on the basis that one light was symmetrical and the other asymmetrical! What a load of s**t! I asked him how my car had passed the other 12 inspections I’d had done since owning it! Pricks! Got the sticker in the end. ;D
  7. That time of the year again... : Went from this: to this: Oh and had a set of Goodyear Eagle F1's fitted (which are great so far). Damn WOF's...!
  8. I had the same problem with the rear's (only) the Red shocks also come out in Version 6's (maybe 5's too) you can tell the difference by the front brake line clamps (on the actual shock). These are Version 6 - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=369870127 I'll add pics of mine later on when I get home. I have the red inverted ones in the front and stock black ones in the rear at the moment which I'm not happy about...!
  9. slystiguy Just considering my options. kamineko Sure is 1.5 turns mate. It really noticeable after driving one without a quick rack! Freddy Don't think it'll come to it. I'll keep you in mind if it does, I have heaps of nice little parts lying around at home. (pink) STI control arms, Cusco diff brace, front Cusco under body brace, V6 spoiler etc etc etc... I had a phone call from a guy in Wellington this wkend who's really interested in buying it for 11k. He's coming down next week to have a drive. He has a GT4 Celica targa car which doesn't have enough room for him and he recons a GC8 is the next best thing
  10. Thanks again for the comments... Guess the majority must be right :-\ I'm not letting it go for anything less than 10k unless I restore it back to factory spec, so looks like I'll be getting that new Version 7 STI short block and keeping it after all...
  11. Thanks for the comments so far. kamineko Magnet stuck to all panels (except the bonnet) :-X. 1170's factory spec. I think its fairly close. I have a couple of oil changes worth of oil lying around so I'll get it weighed the next time I go to the dump. pedro Fair comment. I've always wanted a Type R, will probably look at getting one when I sell this. I want to do a 22B conversion eventually (not blue though). Scoobydoo True, Version 7's are pretty well priced these days however I still think its worth more ;D. I'd expect to pay 8.5 - 9k for a good condition GC8 rex, maybe an STI if you're lucky.
  12. Hey guys, I'm sure most of you have seen my car on TM. Its been for sale for over a year now, its not the fact that I want to sell it, but the fact that I thought it would have sold by now. Am I over pricing it (year, mileage etc etc...). I've had quite a bit of interest, but more along the lines of swaps / trades. Maybe people don't want to splash 11k out right now... Just thought I'd try get some expert opinions. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=357385832&ed=true Cheers.
  13. Funny you should say that, I just stopped in at Pickapart (TGA) but they only have a Justy and two Legacy's at the moment. Don't know of any other wreckers in TGA, but heard about a place called subspare so will e-mail them shortly to see what they have.
  14. Thanks mate, didn't really want to import a set due to the freight cost etc... but may have to look into it. Cheers.
  15. Hey guys, I've been keeping an eye out on Trademe for quite a while now and haven't seen any new / really good condition GC8 shocks. Can anyone recommend a place or does anyone have a set lying around they want to get rid of? I'd like a standard set (KYB's etc...) as I have a set of Version 7 (inverted shocks) and a set of Tein adjusties. I'd like to good set for everyday driving and warrants. Thanks.
  16. I swear by this stuff...! Has very good reviews and is worth the price.
  17. I fitted the smallest oil filter I've even seen! Fingers X'd hoping its safe...!
  18. Thanks mate! I took the mudflaps off because I prefer the look of the car without them (with the Work rims) I bought a set of Advan RG's which I'm probably going to paint white and re-fit the flaps (sometime).
  19. Sure is, was tested a year ago and it was 99.7 db's. I change the mid-section too due to the factory tail piece (diff back) being a lot longer than my HKS cannon. I'll eventually modify my factory muffler to suit the HKS mid-section which will make things a lot easier.
  20. Fitted my factory exhaust for a WOF. Flew through a vtnz station (thank goodness...) Factory exhaust was off within half an hour of passing
  21. I have a stock Version 3 STI RA and it runs up to 20psi. I had a VF23 factory too, but this happened: Replaced it with a VF22 which goes really well, but I prefer the 23 due to its quicker response! I'd stick with the 23 until you have to change it
  22. I had this problem with my car a while ago... turned out to be a faulty TPS (throttle Position Sensor). I replaced it with a used one and its perfect again. Hope this helps.
  23. Really...? What suspension do you have & do you know how wide your rims are...? Cheers.
  24. Thanks for the replies. I just found this thread which has sizes http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,258.0.html Two people have 235's on GC8's. One had to roll the guards, one didn't... funkytown I'll stick with that you recommend and get a set of 225's. Cheers.
