  1. It was a friend of a friend that owned the car. Turned up not far from me on the side of the road. I could see they had removed the engine and trashed the interior. Removed bonnet etc etc. Not pretty.
  2. Follow the wires. Amazing what you find when you do this. I found some randy wiring in mine, followed it and found my wagon once had a coolant temp gauge, presumably in Japan as I\'m second NZ owner. Also, found another set of wiring, and that lead to me finding an oil filter sandwich plate (not really related, but anyway..), so I again I can assume she once had an oil temp gauge or oil cooler. Pulled all that out. You may be surprised what you find! 8)
  3. This wasn\'t a silver Blitzen Sedan from Wellington was it you speak of? Rat sh** as always .. Feeling for the owner to find it in such a state.
  4. What interior do you have? I have the blue leather interior and they come off. I remove them every time I clean my interior.
  5. Awesome to hear that about Ken. Makes sense as the people I have spoken to who have had their car sent his way own the traditional \'dirty slap together turbo-charged Cefiro\' kind of thing. Oh and on \'JUDDIES\' haha .. I\'ll keep this in mind for the next time I need certification when I go to Wilwood 4-piston setup in the front. Thanks gents. :-* :-*
  6. Ah yes fair call! Been told to stay clear from Ken if I\'m getting him to look over more than just coilover suspension, which I am. What\'s you\'r opinion on Ken? If you have used him before.
  7. So I\'ve finally sussed someone to certify my BZ-R. Julian Cheer from Carterton. Has anyone used this guy to certify their car in the past? I know it\'s not a Subarbie, but I\'m sure I\'ll get more of an answer here than any other forum I\'m signed up on. STI\'s with big wheels and coilovers wound all the way down seem to be the in thing these days! ;D 8)
  8. Could see this getting costly really quickly tbh. Pending as to how tidy you want the rear bumper to look of course. Also, taking into consideration there is no \'tunnel\' pathway for the second exhaust exit, thus you may have to spend time fabricating it to loop around some of the rear running gear, and as a result, I\'m pretty sure this will limit you a lot more as to how much \'low\' you can get with you\'r car if you\'r into that scene.
  9. Tardme.co.nz! (http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/other/auction-681631070.htm) This was my second choice! Although, I have to admit I love that \'chambered\' muffler look that the Kakimoto R has.
  10. Oh yes *HI-5* Can\'t leave a brother hanging. Annnnd just in case, Lower Hutt is part of the Wellington region if any individual did not know.
  11. Number plate: GGN586 Legacy Blitzen in silver found stripped in Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt. Police have been contacted as car has been reported stolen. Not a nice sight .. :\'( Just throwing it up here if anyone knows the probable owner.
  12. Just an \'axle back\' bolt on system will give you that deep boxer rumble with no future hassles. I\'ve also got an \'01 E-Tune and put an \'axle back\' Kakimoto R straight bolt on. Deep boxer rumble at idle and low revs, out on high way or anything over 50km/hr you can\'t hear it. Perfect if you\'r not wanting drone or to attract too much attention.
  13. BUMP just \'cause this seems like it should be a stickied thread on the Legacy thread! Had to search hard for this one on here. Going to attempt to do this if I cannot find an adaptor. Rats as after pulling the dash apart then finding this to be the problem ..... Also without plugging in the Mcintosh amp and only the DIN plug, the rear two speakers do work correctly where as the front speakers and rear factory sub just "HUMMM". ANND if I turn the volume up too loud, it all cuts out and the headunit displays \'AUX failure\' or \'CD failure.\' Any ideas why it cuts out?
  14. Oh weow guts. So they must be different then? Seems I got a set from a pfl model!
  15. Simple enough, are pre-facelift BH5 fog lights the same fitting as facelift ones? Reason I\'m asking is I purchased a set of fog lights to fill the factory holes in my bumper. They don\'t seem to be fitting .. : They came from a 2001 BH5 which is same year as mine and mine is a facelift model .. Frustrating, I thought all 2001 models were facelift models?
  16. Would be keen to see a photo of that GENOME on you\'r BH5 Rosssub. I was considering one for mine but decided on a Kakimoto R.
  17. For Wellington, other than randy wind, we may get one or two single notably hot weeks in the Summer (never consecutively) and in Winter, we are lucky to get one entire week where it\'s notably cold. So doesn\'t seem worth to take this into consideration (feel free to blow my theory up Welly folks). ALTHOUGH I am looking at PENRITE FULLY SYNTHETIC 10W-40 for my next change, seems to be more popular here than the 5W.
  18. LOLwut .. I can see some poor bugger going for it with the name being his reasoning ..
  19. Petone Repco and my Father who owns the local workshop. After reading this endless thread, seems anywhere around the 30 -40 range for a factory standard example is fine with a change every 5 thou k\'s or so .. Car runs like a dream on PENRITE 5W-40 fully synthetic for me. To me 30 seems too thin ..
  20. I\'m not going to be a w*nker and ask why. But thanks for you\'r opinion! I\'ll talk to some people and weigh out an average. That is just what Repco recommended me for my application. The debate can commence : ...
  21. Wow what a thread .. Oil gets thicker when hotter, oh aye. Just to spark again. \'01 Legacy E-Tune, 135,000 k\'s, I run PENRITE FULLY SYNTHETIC 5W-40. Hows that? Reason I\'m sparking up is I\'ve nearly put on 5,000 k\'s since purchasing the car and doing a change, so almost that time again!
  22. Wow never realised how small they are from factory ..
  23. I can third Ray Hartly. Top class , honest bloke, did his time as an apprentice with my Father back in the days of yore. His workers are great also! Funnily enough he was going to buy my Legacy from the dealers when it came into the country, so he knew a lot about my exact one already. Until he found a 6 cylinder model at another dealer. Top bloke! ;D
  24. Can you provide actual photos? Reason I\'m asking (I\'m from Wainui) I recall I was out running around this date when I heard a screaming, white 96/97/98 WRX come flying up the street I was on, followed closely by a road bike. It seemed rather dodgey, no indicating or nothing and then I saw what street they pulled into .. One of Wainui\'s local mob streets .. I\'m happy to do the \'run by\' again if you can provide a few photos.
