  1. Hey there, Does anyone know a good colour match for the Red STI struts on GC8? Factory KYB suspension. Cheers

  3. Yep, lateral arms were easy with sockets, and front trailing arm bushes I drilled out and cut with hacksaw, yet to pull out riggers from the car but will do tomorrow. Rear subframe is out so will drill and hacksaw cradle bushes. I was wondering how to do trailing arm rear bushes, being on the hub itself they look like a pita. Thanks for the tip with gear puller though. May have to revert to drilling and cutting A-arm front bushes too. Unless someone has a good tip for these. Should have them all done tomorrow 😁
  4. On a GC8. I have all subframe and arms out of the car. Got most of the rears done, but have just had to drill out and cut the steel lining and tapped it out for those ones. Seems to be working ok.
  5. Hey there, Does anyone have any tips on how to remove suspension bushings? I am replacing all bushings in front lower control arms and the rear trailing arms and subframe/diff etc. Been attempting with a vice but is it a bit of heat that is needed? Glad to hear any tips. Cheers
  6. Yes the DCCD with LSD does drive a lot different to a standard STI. The DCCD boxes are a lot closer ratio than standard so make the cars very snappy and feel fast which is really nice. Also in the general driving setting on the diff the power is split 70-30 to the rear. So you have a lot more drive going to the rear wheels than a standard STI. As you move up the settings this progressively locks the centre diff so in full lock mode you have a 50-50 torque split and fully locked centre diff. You would only use this on gravel though. As a bonus the sti ra and type r limited also come with 4 pot front brakes and 2 pots rears. They also dont have ABS braking. If you can definitely go for an RA or Type R . Hope that helps.
  7. Just wanting to know if anyone has feedback on the xtreme HD clutch kits? How do they compare to exedy? Cheers
  8. Only need to watch andy Forrest videos for inspiration for eg33 build. Go all out a twin turbo it.
  9. 13b impreza has been done. Was a track car. Also therebis an EG33 engine for sale on tm atm.
  10. Yes it is going into the V5, and i am running pushlock hose with 5/16 barb fittings all round for my split rail set up. I have been lookjng a GFB ones but dknt know how they compare to tomei etc
  11. Hey guys, Just looking at running an aftermarket fuel pressure reg. What brand regulators would you recommend for reasonable price? Also where do most people mount their regulators in the engine bay? Looking for some tips. Cheers
  12. has anyone had any experience with the Exedy Sports Organic clutch? how does it compare to the Heavy Duty clutch, in terms of driveability etc?
  13. Hi there, does anyone have any pointers as to where i could get the best deal on 5 speed Exedy HD clutch and lightened fly wheel for 1999 STI RA. cheers.
  14. I have priced them for headers only before but i decided it was quite expensive but you have persuaded me back into this idea. I also have a 3 inch hks stainless down pipe, would you recommend doing this the same? Also when you say you had the turbo done, was it just the exhaust housing? Or the whole lot? I have a 3yr old vf22 in mint condition but i could be tempted to coat this as well if it would help improve things.
  15. Would you care to share some photos? If you ran with ceramic coating would this suffice by itself? Or would you still heatsheild as well Very interested in these options as i want to do it once and do it properly.
  16. Ok i had looked into that a bit but just not sure what way to go about the sheild and what to mount it off. Have you had any experience or got any tips? I was wondering about mount from the cam covers some how but the main areas i am wanting to sheild is radiator, cam covers and also inbetween sump and headers as they run very close. Would you still wrap up pipe? Or just use this stuff for that as well?
  17. Hi there, I am going to be wrapping my NZKW unequal length Headers soon and was interested to know what the best way to wrap them is? i have seen some people wrap each runner separately and others wrap two runners together. does anyone have experience as to what is best? cheers.
  18. Awesome. Thats good to know.so this is additional to the factory wiring? Sorry im not much good with electrical stuff.
  19. Depends how much power you want but i have seen some builds close to 300kw running big side feeds. There are 650cc JECS side feeds on TM for a good price that would save a lot if hassle than going top feed. The only way to make radium kit work is to buy the upgraded rails that suit the late model v8+ sti's that are top feed from factory. And then use those rails with the mounting hardware from the v1-6 conversion kit. This is basically merging two of the products they do. I have a top feed conversion kit for sale as i am in the same boat, but i didnt find out that oem top feeds don't fit until the kit arrived here. Awesome kit for big hp build though
  20. I eventually had an email response from the seller saying it was his ex flatmate that had used his account. Which i think is a load of rubbish as all communications re payment and shipping were directly with him from his own email address. I dont think i am going to get anywhere with it. I have since listed it back on trademe stating the issues it has. Just need to get what i can back out of it. Will be dropping it to a $1 reserve auction. So if anyone needs parts from it bid away.
  21. So would i see reasonable gains by going to flex fuel. Even with basic forged ej207, factory intake mani and 3inch exhaust with 850cc injectors and vf30 turbo and v7 tmic in my RA? Will obviously be running a link to run it all
  22. Yep totally indrstand it is only a VF. Nut it fits my purpose. Not chasing big numbers. Id be happy with anything around 210kw but if i could get closer to 220kw that would be perfect. Reason for vf22 was to gain a bit more top end power. But since i've found out it is stuffed, and i cant get a response from the guy who sold it too me, i am curious to know if there is any way i can use parts i have and still gain a bit of top end over the stock vf28.
