  1. So I probe the wire at the connecter and at the ECU to get the 1V reading? It takes me a little while to get these concepts into me head, electricity's really not my thing ahaha. Damn expensive sensor too! Repco decided they wanted to charge me $950 *Rolls eyes* Went to an auto sparky, he can get me one for $330. He also said the Resistance on this specific sensor should be 2 Ohms?
  2. Exactly what I was looking for! So clearly the 3.4 Ohms I've got is far too low and needs to be replaced right? How do I check the earth? Obviously get the car idling, switch the multimeter to volts then probe which wires?
  3. Ugh, knew I'd forgotten something ahaha. 03 BL5 Manual. I want to test the sensor to make sure. I don't want to be like all the other guys at work that say "This is the problem, lets replace it" then they replace it and it doesn't fix the problem *rolls eyes* I would have thought if the pre-heater had gone I wouldn't be getting any resistance back?
  4. Afternoon guys. I've had a CEL on for about 2 weeks now, just got around to using a scan tool on it. Scan tool says something along the lines of "02 Heater circuit volts low. Bank 1 Sensor 1." Main questions are: 1) This is the first sensor on the downpipe (Right up near the turbo) 2) How exactly am I supposed to test to confirm this fault? I have tested for resistance on the two black wires on the 02 connector, reading about 3.4 Ohms (Unsure what it's supposed to be reading?) and also checked I'm getting 12V from the wring loom connector. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Thanks for the exclusion Boon ahahaha. Almost doesn't feel like I actually won anything considering the lack of even decent Subies there. Either way still pretty proud As for that white 3rd gen, that was my fault It's a mate of mine I told to enter last minute on the day. It's clean and the very few mods it has are still at least decent. He's only had it for a month or so and the old owner put the rotas on not him (He hates the fact they're rots too). Though he should enter consider his car, even stock is a **** load better than half the cars that were in it last year. Either way overall it was a pretty good time. Loved the atmosphere the day of the setup with everyone just chilling and polishing their cars.
  6. Took a few new pics, here's a couple of the best ones
  7. Thanks for the info guys, sent him the links and I guess he'll decide if it's worth it or not. Pretty sure he thought he'd get decent gains (Unsure why the thought that) but eh, we'll see what he ends up doing aha
  8. Evening guys, got a mate with a BE5, he wants to put a STI TMIC on. Questions are, are the stock legacy TMIC's twin or single core? If you were get a Y pipe made to join the two turbos into a single pipe and put a STI TMIC on is that possible? Cheers for any info guys!
  9. I'd definitely be wanting an exedy. Pretty keen on knowing the difference between part numbers on the exedy's before making a decision though...
  10. Alrighty so. I've got a price from Pro-whole sales, $1425 for a exedy FJK-7731SMFHD and also a price from Fortyone on a exedy FH03SDV for $1680. Now my question is does anyone know what the differences are? They both come with pressure plates, clutch disc's and single mass flywheels. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
  11. Have just e-mailed pro wholesales now. Will give Fortyone an e-mail tomorrow and see what they can get in. My thoughts were pretty much just a excedy heavy duty and a single mass wheels aswell
  12. Soooo I had a big roadtip this weekend (1300km, Levin to Auckalnd for a GTO meet) and on the way back down clutch started to slip (It's slipped a few times in the past but nothing excessive). Obviously now will be the time for a new clutch! 2003 BL5A EJ20T 5MT So question is, what are the preferred clutches to go to for BL's? If I wasn't planning on upping the power eventually I'd be going with a stocker, however my power goal is 250kw so I'm going to need a clutch to put up with that! Also a lightweight flywheel would be idea aswell (Kind sick of the sluggish revving that the duel-mass flywheel gives). Any help would be appreciated!
  13. My thoughts exactly. I WAS going to get the downpipe and headers then the turbo at a later date. Now knowing the downpipe and manifold flanges won't bolt up to my turbo, I'm going to have to get them all at once... Really going to have to commit to this build aha
  14. Originally I wanted catted to keep the noise levels down and the subtech pipe looks crudely manufactured IMO. I'm wanting to upgrade the turbo in the future and the subtech pipe will severely limit the turbo choice (was going to go for an STI style turbo.
  15. Thanks for the info guys much appreciated! Unfortunately because of the completely different flange my plans have gone up in flames! Ohwell, back to the drawing board *rolls eyes*
  16. I'm looking for quality more than cheap parts. Which year WRX downpipes do you seem to think will fit? Was looking at a Tomei downpipe for a GDB but they've got different flanges than Legacys aswell *Sigh*
  17. Thanks for that, I'll look into it! I was more hoping for a catted downpipe though...
  18. Hey guys, trying to get a downpipe for my BL5A Legacy (Twin scroll, RHD, EJ20) (Thought I'd found one but turns out it wasn't flanged properly ). Wondering if anyone has any idea if WRX downpipes will fit? If so which model/years? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  19. Might be able to make it to Palmy this weekend Kiwi, give me a PM and we can talk about it. I'm not quite sure what the ECU number was, I couldn't even begin to get it to work so I handed it to my brother (the geek of the family ) and he got that far.... Might give it another try a bit later on in the week when I have some time.
  20. Unfortunaly I can't get this Vagcom cable to work Learning View say's the ECU isn't supported and Romraider can't even read the ECU
  21. You'll have to wait for it to pop up on my build thread It's called "Learning View". Got it from an aussie Legacy forum. It'd probably be going with Cryo aswell, I've only heard good things about his tunes! I'm in Levin. Been to Speedtech but they can't reflash the JDM ECU's and I don't know any other reputable tuners around the Wellington area....
  22. I've got the downpipe sussed! Haven't gone with a subtech as I didn't really like the "no cat at all" idea. Shouldn't be more than a few weeks away (along with a custom mid-pipe). I've got a Vagcom cable on it's way (apparently these work)and have downloaded a program that lets me see IAT's, boost, knock etc just for a little look! Hows your tune coming along so far? You're liking it I assume? Just thought it'd be safer getting an E-tune with the aftermarket intake and turbo-back exhaust rather than running them on the stock tune that's all.
  23. Evening guys, A topic I've always been a little weary of and just wanted to get your guys opinions! I'll assume most of you have heard of this before. Basically this is where you get someone to Email you a tune based on the mods you've done, you upload that to your ecu, gather some data, send it back to them and they tweak your tune untill it's just right! Thoughts?
  24. As everyone before me has said, they'll definitely fit but the tips will be a little long unless you get them chopped. Some people may even like the extended tip look. Here's my BL with BP tips
