Think it's worth the hassle + cost? Could be a little thing to bang on my cold air box to relfect the hot engine heat. no hassle, prolly bugger all cost.. if it dosent work out, just take it off... it certainly is cooler to the touch compared to a surface where its not applied

LOL, its foil sticky tape.. not tinfoil as such. And yes the brake booster is cool to the touch where the tape is applied and hot to the touch where it isnt. Purely a preventative measure due to no heat shields on the Turbo (there is heat wrap on the DP) but the foil tape actually works very well to reflect heat! I also put the tape on the underside of the intercooler alloy Y pipe (closet to the turbo)

yeah well found out it wasnt spark/ignition issues and ended up being the motor... lol ohwell i sourced another motor from a member here which will be up and running today hopefully fark that sucks.. you have had some fun, and that wrxman needs a bullet! haha i know right love working on subis. ohwell what goes around comes around hell get his oneday LOL ahh well, i bet you had the ign wring sussed right from the begining, and this time it will fire up no worries!

update: well as per threads all over the interwebz on this problem, the give away was a crushed filter/gause. All too comon (so i have read) when you find a crushed gause... there will be plastic bits that break up and get wedged in the AVCS solenoids which jams them creating all sorts of issues fromsimple bad idling through to poor performance throughout the rev range. thats it! biff the filters, pull off the AVCS pipes & solenoids, look for the little bits of plastic from the gause then clean them out/remove them
