Sorry to here that dude. Sucks when people take other people's stuff.
I was under the impression that all 4th gen were CANBUS and factory immobilised?
Were the keys stolen? Or was it a tow truck job? -
Went car shopping, found cars I liked, remembered why I've never bought from a dealership.
Honestly gobsmacked at how some stay in business. Not even a "Hello, can I help with anything?".
I was even asking about two particular models that I knew they had a few different cars of, but they just pointed to where they were. -

I will happily say that I prefer wheel nuts and studs over bolts.
You can get thread in bolts for most Euro cars, that you can then throw a nut on anyway.
Oh I definitely prefer wheel nuts and studs for the most part. Especially for changing tyres.

The benefit of euros with threaded bolts rather than wheel nuts...

oh dang. At least its covered.

Ray Chubb. He's built plenty of roll cages and does them to a very high standard.

Today is the day I got to eat some of my own humble pie. I have as such come here to repent for my sins.
Turns out I was totally off the mark and am a complete oaf when it comes to wiring. Yep you heard it, got it about as wrong as you can get. Simply put I didn't terminate the positive OR negative well enough and that was all. Had nothing to do with the patch loom I bought.
As such, the wideband is working now but the battery is stuffed... Onto the charger it is!

Haha bugger. We've all made silly mistakes like that before.

It's just such a pain finding wheels where I live and shipping isn't an option because it adds heaps more on top.
Dude the NT03 have free shipping!
I reckon they'd look mean on a 3rd or 4th gen. They're the same wheels as the 4th gen photo I posted and the wheels on the front of this B4:

These are wheels I've been considering for a while now that you might be interested in:

When I cleaned my OZ wheels I used a waterblaster first and then scrubbed them with a stiff wheel brush and a product like Dragons Breath or similar.
Chemical Guys also make some great products which are now available in NZ from companies like United Car Care. -

Haltech is a reasonably local company, being based out of Australia. The support is there, and easy to access, and parts too.
I'm not afraid of cost, due to me taking my time with this, and probably gonna build the car up over the next 3-5 years.
2But Link Engine Management is an NZ company? Haltech is great and all but for a Subaru, you can't really beat a Link in NZ.

Would highly recommend umbrellas unless you plan to be in the trees all day.

What's your main complaints about the current setup?

Decided to clean the headlights, they yellow a lot near the top and just look average.
Camera doesn't do the before and after photos justice:

That is incredibly vague. The LEDs I have bought are designed to diffuse light in a similar, or even better manner compared to a incandescent.
Asked my old boss, from when I was mechanic. Turns out that retrofitted LEDs aren't allowed at all anymore. All I could find myself about them is that retrofitted LEDs don't meet the "performance" of manufacturer specified bulbs (incandescent). I think it's BS personally, as all the LEDs I have bought are either Osram or Philips branded, which diffuse light better than incandescent bulbs. Plus they're all like $50 a pair, and I have 6 pairs in my car.
So for a WoF, I'll need to swap them all back to incandescent - get the WoF, and put all the LEDs back in. My old boss prefers them as they respond faster, and don't appear to have a warm up time (to the naked eye).
Gonna tag @1randomkiwi here, as I know he's nuts on his LEDs too.
Edit: interior retrofitted LEDs are OK. It's just the exterior ones.

Brighter overall (especially in daylight) - questionable.
Improve/modernise appearance - how? Still a single source of light in the same housing.
I totally get it when people want to LED their parking lights as those look massively outdated with incandescent bulbs.
On 1/12/2019 at 3:08 PM, Nachoooo said:Despite that, ultimately it's at the inspectors discretion... The practical concern I see is a flooded market of cheaper LED's that don't have a discernible brightness difference between tail light and brake light functions. Whilst OSRAM and Philips are quality brands and make these claims, it's all how the bulb performs in the lamp itself in the real word day and night
Save yourself the hassle, if the bulbs are safe take it for an inspection an see if they fail before doing all that work
One argument is no 'warm-up' time compared to traditional filament bulbs where LED are instant on. We're talking miliseconds here but...I've had LEDs throughout both my BE and BM Legacy, not a single issue with WoF or Police.
I find the LEDs are much brighter and have a nicer, modern colour. The indicators flash in sync with the stock LED side repeaters, the brake lights come on instantly, and your can leave your car parked with the parklights on for hours without worrying about battery drain. Oh and my reverse lights actually light up dark driveways
In terms of exterior lights I have the following as LED: Brake/tail, indicators (all four corners), reverse, number plate and park lights. I will not be changing the main beam (HID), high beam (halogen) and fog lights (halogen) as using LEDs in those situations may dazzle other drivers and create an inefficient beam shape due to the way the lenses are designed.

I had the bumper on my BE repaired through these guys twice: https://www.peterhendriks.co.nz/
I think they outsourced the plastic welding but they did a pretty good job with the respray etc. -

oh bollocks....shipping is quite hectic and then still import taxes. Does anyone have an idea what kind of import tax I will be looking at for roughly $900 value?

You don't have to pay duties on motor vehicle parts, just GST and customs fees.

some would say the hogzaust mod is a pretty good representation of how it’ll sound with muffler deletes, worth a tryAny side effects doing the hogzaust?
Sounded like total ass on my car lol. Reverted back to stock pretty quickly.
Might hit up @Subirex Automotive to see if he can make me an axle back setup. I was considering importing a set from overseas but it ends up being quite pricey.
