  1. i think its still doggy coz if its a stolen recovered then u will need to re-vin it if the original owner cannot be found as the car would have been de-reg after the bust up of the gang.... thats what i was thinking... v4 wrx type r i think - roof scoop only came in the wrx rype r and not the sti type r shell...
  2. its a retna as per the guy's auction - but he says been recovered etc - isint it that if its a stolen car, then u have to re-register/re VIN it if it has been played with? im not too clued up on all this hence the cautios approach - a very close family member may be wanting it hence doing the research
  3. trademe - Listing #: 213607177 how do we find out if it is really ok...? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=213607177 (added link for the lazy - jared)
  4. hahaha..... a comedian as well i see..... funny that comparison!! PS> not a fan of repco (ripco) i see...
  5. hmm i guess i will be the test case for these pads then eh.. hopefully change them in the weekend and then be able to comment .. PS. race oriented pads be a bit of a bother on the streets just as a safety point i think -- what if need to break suddenly and hard when the breaks are cold as - e.g. a kid runs after a ball right in front of u just few feet from your driveway and u comming out with bold as breaks...shudder...

    bc5 Legacy Scoop

i reakon the v7 scoop suits the bc shape better than v8..
  7. what size bolt is it at the break caliper..? 14 ay? thats the only one i will need rite?
  8. so getting good and bad feedback - not used them yet - still in the pack... *deciding... :* but yea, mostly for road use anf the occational track day is my main purpose - does that fit?
  9. finally got my new pads - got ferodo excell - been told they are the best made by ferodo.. heard some good words abt these.. any of u guys/gals tried this
  10. kw always sounds more tough for some reason - that more for import type power i reakon.. 330 hp dont sound as good as 220kw to me..but thats just me and my metric culture yea what sort of bottom end u looking at?
  11. dat is pretty good bro - what all have u done?
  12. o2 sensor will not affect boosting - only affects idle and low trrottle inputs like cruising
  13. front mount IC it ..... +1 on the dyno idea
  14. (*waits in anticipation....*) 8)
  15. manukau bro.... but yea, anyone got any old subaru 4 pot pads (dead ones) that i can use to check to see if they measure up against the brembo pads - i think should be sweet but wana be sure.. i read in hot4's magzine once that they did the swap in a s15 (same as subaru 4 pots)
  16. summary 2: BC/BF , V1-6 GC/GF - same rear top hats v7/8 tt BD/BG and foz (up to 2k shape change) - same rear top hats BH/B4 unique setup fronts the same on all that sound about right?
  17. i dont usually get involved with these topics but i would seriously like to get this "boy racer" problen sorted in a way that is beneficial to the majority... as everyone agrees not all "boy racer type cars are driven by the idiots and in the same token - not all granny cars are safe from "boy racer" type usage.. in ahort, it is not always the car that is the issue but the driver...although i totally agree that limiting vehicle choice for non proven drives is a good move as at least they have less chance of exhibiting bad behaviour.. the other think is the support for building more venues and making them more accesible where everyone can let off "steam" or donuts etc...whatever the signifies street racing that is.. a classic example is street racing compared to skateboard parks and it is clearly evidential that skate parks have taken the sport to a recognised venue and away from public areas like footpaths and all... lets do the same for this issue.. this way there is no excuse whatsoever for any illegal street driving and associated hooligan behaviour it will be a small cost compared to the rot its causing in our streets... and especially if the police HELP with it rather than handing off the responsibility.. e.g.security etc for a small fee the venue can be used by a lot more people.. there are arguments like "o there is pukekohe track/meremere dragway in auckland" but i personally think its too expensive/organised and puts too much pressure to conform for the "boy racer" crowd... dont get me wrong, im not saying letting there be total caos but u wud never consider the guy with the chopped spring 91 integra to race in a legit race now wud u... ummm think of it like a sk8 park and if the only time they were allowed to use it was when there was organised competitions and at selected dates only - obviusly the skaters wud be back on the street.. what im trying to say is that the environment needs to be what they have at the sk8 parks - relaxed and mate against mate sort of "racing"... that way there is more chances of the usage of the venue.. also the fee e.g. $40 for races at meremere - includes sportsmans license - why would the occational boy racer want that - its a waste of money as far as they are concerned - they are more of a spontanious bunch who will race each other for bragging rights... i say once u give that sort of environment - e.g. say $5 per 2 runs side by side with the same car - now that is more like it.. im not saying this is the perfect plan but we should work towards a plan tyat has chances to work rather than just try to get sneaky with entrapment - yes lets still do entrapment for the ones who still dont want to use the facilities but if the facilities are run in a fashion that is acceptable use for the boy racer type then it will work.. im kinda tired of typing so will stop here.. my research is based on the 10 of so phone calls i made in the last hour to known people who frequent these street events and what they percieve is the situation.. so im not pulling stuff outta my a$$... i will add more once my fingers recover to type again 8)
  18. so in summary: v1-6 gc/gf are the same rear top hats v7/8 and tt and foz are the same rear hat (BG/BD tt only) what about BC/BF legacies?
  19. question... i know the subaru brembos are 4 pot and so id the subaru branded calipers.... are they ther same pad? I have some near new pads that came off a mates v7 sti brembo.. wud they fit my 4 pots.. PS. about changing them home - as long as i dot have to bleed the breaks should be ok..right? :
  20. that leaves out all gc8 - is it possible to swap fozzy/tt in a gc8? i know NO in v5/6 wat about 1-4?
  21. PS. dont overfill too much bro - in fact i keep it just bang on the full mark or a bees dik lower...lol.. overfilling will smoke the car hard and also can starve the rings as the pickup can get too deep in the oil and not be able to supply much.. the only time u really need to worry oil starvation is if u got really good tires and massive G'z.. for a novice - just do a good oil change and keep at full mark and u should be sweet as...
  22. hahaha that made me LOL in the office... but on that note - just to confirm - i have done a tt legacy to v7 strait swap and swaped between 7 and 8 and had to change the top hat on the rear between 5/6 and 7 so assuming from the posts above forrester is same as tt and 7? right?
  23. what joker said.. and cannot stress the importance of good pads and even better fluids.. im in the hunt for pads at the moment so cannot say much on preference but for best street/trac/price get some motul rfp600 - they are bloody good mate..!! oh and good tires...lol.. seriously - u can do just soooo much with good tires - i didnt believe it till ran some track days and now am dispensing that myself
