4g65b8 had a stock boost contoller so you have the advantage there
plus he was road tuned
some days i wish i had a dyno in the back yard heheh
free dyno runs for all subies all day!!

depending opn engine condition maybe 220kw as that seems to be what we get out of v7 sti..
altho sometimes some cars do wonders .. hoping ur one gets some solid numbers..
keen to see
-
the dw200 is pretty cheap and gets 300kw ..
for injectors you can always decap the v7+ top feed and they get abt 850cc.. (flowtest them)
tunes out fine as well.
do a split rail while at it (can use stock rails if needed) and optionally an fpr if you can .
thats a budget setup that will work fine..of course you can get better components if the budget allows thats for sure..

if in auckland, i can help out with that ...
-
just put another hose on it bro as the solenoid does not mind at all if you swap the stock hose
-
clean the oil, put new washers in the sensors (avcs sensor on both sides)
degrease and contact cleaner on all electical connectors
electrical contact cleaner on ecu plugs and ecu loom

Yes
thanks man..
I read up something abt the density of AVgs being different to petrol and needs different targets.. whats all that about (or is that a non-issue)

Can run more timing than unleaded. Only usefull if knock limited. The dilution of the oil and the residue left on spartan plugs, ports and exhaust are a pain though. Same lambda targets as unleaded.
thanks for that bro!
is it the same afr targets for straight avgas vs say 50/50 mixed with pump gas?

Hey fellas - digging up an old thread but....
Does anyone know whats involved in tuning an engine to run on a mix of avgas and 91 fuel (or even straight avgas - unsure how good that will be)
Note - its an overseas car (so nothing to do with legality of things in NZ)
Questions:
any ideas on target AFR for avgas (for best power)
does it indeed take additional timing without hitting knock
possible to run higher boost with avgas mix
Wanting to heat form ppl who have used/tuned for this fuel
i know few people here run that (for race use) so would be good to get some comments on that

The only wheel sizes that matter are the compressor wheel and the turbine wheel. Followed maybe by the steering wheel
hit the spot right there bro!!!!!

the v7 sti wheels look nice on your wagon (assuming the one in the pic in ur sig) ..
rear hip spoiler be a nice addition

I may be able to hunt down my 231kw VF34 tune? Might be a bit aggressive but if you stay out of the throttle it should be OK.
that was on your v7?
mind sending to me if you have it?

there is a place in Manurewa who i have used the last few times to test
was not too expensive and you can tell him what PSi you want them tested at as well
-
could be as others are saying that the e10 is allowing for it to not knock due to higher knock resistance..
we can adjust the timing to get it running better on 98 or even for e10 to ensure its all running safe.
also check for all leaks etc in case its also a mechanical issue
the reading you pulled out does show there is some room for improvement as there is some knock in the upper mid range that could as well be pulling the power down
also in the low end it looks like the overall IAM reduction may be affecting the proper timing needed hence why its sluggish there
ideally you want the IAM to be 1.00 if the car is setup correctly
fueling wise it seems to want to add a bit more fuel on the top end so may need adjustments there as well depending how much the AFR actually is

HI Admin,
could we perhaps add another category to the mods list and break it down further - seeing as there are so many ECU's out there these days like Link and Autronic and so many others. Also unsure if we can add a category for turbo and boost level so others get some guidelines/inspiration on what all is going on....
Model:
Displacement:
Mods:
Turbo/Boost:
Fuel:
ECU:
Tuner/dyno:

anyone know what size speakers to get to replace the factory front door speaker?
alo, does the stock cd/tape unit have an aux input at the back - had read it somewhere but cant seem to find..
thanks

still running twin or u done a single turbo conversion. we have done a few single convertion tunes with good results
-
nice exhaust (swap up pipe if your one has a cat)
sti top mount (or FMIC if you want)
VF23/30/22 turbo
decap injectors if you can or sti pinks
tune
will be a nice street car all over. have done a few of them and they get a lot better over the stock wrx setup.. dont need to push too much boost to get some decent results
-
my 2C .. open source tuning is great if you know what you are doing and dont get too greedy..
most of the time if you get greedy then things dont work out well..
for all the tunes i have done, i have done has not been pushed to unsafe levels and the results have been nice for the ownwers as usually end up with more power and a safer running car tuned to the fuel they use..

they are pretty good.. the stock turbo is rather small but generally its a well setup car
i have worked on a few of them for various power mods and still keeping them very practical
what area are you in
