Decided to give the leggy a spring clean. I neglected it a bit over winter so a wash, polish and wax. Tomorrow its interior time. Also made a visit to pick a part and snagged these clear side repeaters - score
-
When i tested it it read ~ 10c which was what my weather thermometer said - better than either -15c or +40c

A while back I bought some Lamco gauges (boost, volts and air temp).
Getting the boost and voltage working was easy as, however the temp sensor was a different story. Tried a few sensors for things like Arduinos - didn't work. Tried an oil temp sensor - didn't work. Tried a coolant sensor - didn't work (these were all recommendations I found online). I did find a post the recommended splicing into your MAF to get a reading, I was a bit reluctant to do so.
So I found this on Ebay which was cheap enough to not worry about if it worked or not. Fast forward 3 weeks, it arrived. Hooked it up, and voila! it works
To get the right adapter all I needed was a donor ford and some side cutters - off to pick a part! found me a plug (most fords have an IAT sensor in the airbox - you could probably also grab the sensor from there)
Next step is to figure out where to put it....

Hose 10 mod - seriously, why did it take me over a year of owning the car to do it.... pants dyno reckons its better, so yay

7.5l/100km! that must be from fuel evaporation whilst its being towed!

Hose 10 mod on rev D BH5, can it be done....? please don't hurt me:eek:

Excellent, thank you. That just happens to be the socket that is (possibly) somewhere still between my manifold and engine block...

Hey
I've a BH5 with electronic headlight adjustment. It's been lowered and as a result i don't get much throw on the head lights even with the switch set to max.
Is there a manual adjustment on these legacys as well?
Cheers

What tyres 215/40/17? Seems highish but might be angle of the pic.
Do those sti springs come in 2 different heights or just the one? And where is best to buy from?
tyres are goodrides 215/40/17. Should be 45s, but previous owner had one set of new 40s put on before I bought it..
That photo could have been taken after coming off a jack, heres another photo.
I'm not sure if there's different heights. It is low. I do scrape over various 'obstacles'. Probs best to keep an eye on tm or strongs. This came with a few Sti parts when it was imported it seems

bilstein struts and pink sti springs

The yellow cable under your seat is probably from an old Nav system yeah? If so it probably won't switch over when you chuck it in reverse. Pull the Headunit and see if it has a camera input and the reverse switch wire. If it does it is super easy to wire in. Just tee in the power and switching directly to one of the reverse lamps and then run the rca and switch wire to the head unit.
Cheers, i'll have a gander at some point

Finally got the angle sorted for the reverse camera on the rev d. Also sorted the tail door garnish leak and cleaned up the light sockets which were pretty corroded. I also did the McIntosh subwoofer hack https://jeremy.geek.nz/2010/04/19/subaru-legacy-mcintosh-subwoofer-hack/ and repaired the front passenger speaker.
How'd you get the reverse camera working? i've half considered putting one in mine. Tried connecting a single RCA cable to the yellow cable under the seat but nothing came up on the screen....

Been considering doing this for a while. I managed to get a carbon fibre 'u' bend to replace the silencer of TM for pretty decent price. Saves cutting up the factory one and if I don't like it I can easily got back to stock

2 pots off, 4 pots on. All done in the time it took magoos to weld a new muffler onto my mates GC8

Got up early and cleaned/clayed/waxed the legacy! woo. Now I'm just waiting for it to rain - Murphy's law

Hey All
Looking at getting a gauge cluster for my BH5 and it comes with a oil temp gauge but no sender. I've read that there's a blank plug somewhere around cylinder 3 with an 8mm(?) allen key which is perfect for oil temp. Now in terms of sensor, what do I need? I'm reasonably new to this, so would a sender like this work?
I have searched the forum but "oil" doesn't work, "temperature" and "gauge" are pretty generic and "sender" doesn't show much and all four of them together gives me not much help!
If anyone has any light on the subject then please share!
Cheers

@bigDnz Been thinking of doing this to my leggy. Did you prime? or just went straight onto the plastic? Also, did you paint/sand the whole grill or just the chromed part?
