Did you have any luck technikhaus?

Ive just purchased a JDM 2011 STI manual and I definitely want to add cruise control to it

Not as of yet sadly, haven't had a chance to get a good scanner on it :(

  2. Another Southern local!
We're up in Dunedin, with a 2011 STI, We had it on the dyno when we first got it, and I think it was 190wKW..
We've since thrown on an Nvidia R400, and are awaiting delivery of a PBMS Cat-less down pipe.
Hoping for 225wKW, with the down pipe, exhaust, a new fuel pump (DW65c will be installed), and probably just a high-flow filter.

Tuner wise we haven't decided yet, either APET, or maybe Rapid In Timaru, haven't decided yet!
I've had my rally car tuned a few times at APET, with no issues so far.

  3. Could be the coolant temperature sensor for the ECU?
There's two if I'm not mistaken, one for the gauge, and one for the ECU.
If the ECU isn't getting the correct temperature reading, it may not turn on the fans?

  4. Hey all,

So I picked up this GF8 that'd been 'manual converted' but they never finished the job.
I've got a motor in it now, and I'm trying to work out what's been done, and what's required to get it running.

I see they removed the TCU so that's good.
I can't find the wiring that originally ran to the gear selector, but the key is removable so I assume they sorted that.
Now the Neutral switch wiring I think is the issue, as the car won't crank by the key, it just does nothing.

I saw in a video (linked below) that for the 2nd gen Legacy, you bridge the lower two pins on the right hand side of the 4x3 transmission connector in the engine bay.
This didn't work for me, so does anybody have any ideas?
I'll be doing more troubleshooting tonight.

Just one order but with many items? If ones delayed at supplier warehouse etc they wait for it and ship it all together. Or at least that's what happened to me.

Just got an email half an hour ago that 4 or 5 of the 10 is so items are NLA.
Annoying considering the order had to go for approval first, which took a couple of days, it got approve on Tuesday, and now they say some of it isn't available :(.

On the topic of shipping, I got some stuff from Amayama that took approx 5 weeks, got it just before lockdown, another that took 3 during lockdown, and I'm ordering some more and they have a message in their website advising 2-6 week delays.

I placed an order there the other day, some I'm expecting at the end of the moth, and others are mid-late next month :(

Just front and rear end links, rear sway bar brace and rear diff insert bushes. Frankly I don't think this car even needs thicker swaybars. It stays bloody flat as it is so can't think of much else to replace handling wise for now besides maybe rear camber arms.

I went direct too, Didn't wanna take the risk that any other companies might use Aus post too.

    Nice!
I was tempted by the swaybars, but I've never actually even driven this car, so I have no idea how it handles. Will get the bushes and billies in, then see if it needs them haha.

A nice little box from Whiteline turned up today, they even chucked in some free gloves.

Took about 5 days for this lot to arrive, still waiting for my other order with the last AN parts for the manifold that shipped using some express Aus post service that has now past two weeks in the system somewhere 😒

Ooh nice! What exactly did you get?
I'm I'm on week 3 of waiting for an order from SparesBox in Aus for some whiteline shifter bushings.
Decided to order all my other gear just straight through Whiteline themselves for the rest of the gear.

  9. Spent far too much money at Whiteline yesterday, but should hopefully have a car that handles super nice after this lockdown!
Full front and rear bushing kits, WEK073 and WEK074. Looking forward to getting these in when they arrive!
Wasn't going to do it, but thought stuff it, with this sale one I may as well, and shouldn't have any WOF failures for 20+ year old bushings for years to come.

    Big thread dredge incoming

I've just taken off and put my IM back on again, and I've just realised the brown egr valve hose goes to my fuel rail drivers side rather than intake manifold. and I have a boost gauge installed which takes the IM port of egr-intake mani hose.

    This is bad isn't it?

From the canister to the Fuel pressure regulator?
    probably not best.
MAP and FPR should usually each go directly to the intake, as they're very picky and relied upon.
So yeah may be best to move the FPR to the manifold and let the EGR share another vacuum source.

  11. Hey!
I've been working on the exact same issue, check this thread out:

It appears as if our 2011's don't have the feature enabled in the ECU, I've check with a few different applications, and it won't detect the buttons.

So far no luck on my end! SSM may be able to enable it, but I don't have a compatible cable to test.

  12. Yeah, have the switches etc ion the pedals, and also the steering wheel controls now.

Sadly my BT adapters don't seem to want to connect to this car, so the only actual adapter I have at the moment is a Tactrix cable, which FreeSSM doesn't support :(

Nah no idea which one it was. Just post up the question in as many as you're part of. Or just try message An Lal directly in messenger.

Sweet, migh tjust have to! I'll keep this thread updated if I find anything out :)

Might be able to find someone with the knowledge elsewhere that can at least confirm whether this is the right track to be on.

Think I saw a post a little while back on FB where An Lal (can't think of what his username is on here) said he could sort it out for someone who added the controls as we have done.

Yeah that's not a bad idea, do you know which group/page that was on?

Half the Subaru pages are just for-sale groups now, which is annoying. Guessing maybe NZ Subaru Enthusiasts?

Might have to put a post up somewhere.

Even the dodgy Chinesey one that sites lists is still $299, assuming USD. Think a trip to a Subaru dealer for at least a discussion might be the best way to go.

Yeah, if I had a good local dealer i totally would, but mine's pretty crappy, so might have to take a pass then!

Don't think it'll be in the ROM though you could try. Most years only have one for manual transmissions anyway.

What is the CAL ID for your ECU? Mine for some reason uses the 2012 one as there doesn't seem to be a 2010 or 2011 one available.

2012 here as well, probably the exact same ROM as yours?
