I get a hard shift in to 3rd all the time.... got told it was unable to be fixed by having a subaru dealer upload new transmission software patch
Never had a fault code show though....
How easy is it to swap the sensor?

Car has to go back into the dealers as airbag light keeps coming on. I took it back the same day after the recall work and they admitted there was high resistance in one of the connections but the airbag light was simply a coincidence. It's for the front crash airbag sensor. They reset it and sent me on my way.
I said how unlikely it was that it just happens to come on after their work. If they try charge me for the parts then it's going to be a tough day at the office for them. I'm not going to front up costs for a mistake they made. Pretty clear what ever they did wrong shorted something out or the high resistance caused the issue.
Plus there was greasey finger marks on both A pillars. Unclipped gear shifter, no idea why they needed to touch that? Dirt on the headrests from where they were working on the fuel pump. Seats were left in the reclined position. Car was also in sports mode. It's never in sports mode so was a bit confused by that.
They are not a Subaru dealer so I suspect they just are the only place here who can do the work. Wish I had of travelled to Nelson to do it to be honestDid you get the airbag recall work done? or fuel pump wiring harness?
The airbag recall is a dash out job. The shifter will be unclipped because they have to remove the center console in order to remove the dash
I got mine done at Winger Subaru and it was a breeze. Got a loan car for the day (ugly ass Forrester) - to top it off they even put my radio presets back in for me

Cheers! Going to grab one when I get back from overseas.

Then you discover Radar Cruise Control...it makes you lazy - honestly!
Yep!
I drove a brand new Toyota Camry rental with radar cruise control from Queenstown to Chch last year - just set a distance and enjoy the drive for most of it

It did cross my mind but not sure if I'd use it enough to bother. The wheel came with all of those so will probably just flick them on.
I love cruise control - so mint for cruising on open roads

Another couple of lil things
1) Traction control light is always on. Pressing the button under the steering wheel does nothing at all. No fault code for it on the obd scanner. Any ideas where to start looking?
2) Clock and information unit under dash pocket looks dead, nothing on the display at all. Have read this is common issue but havnt read any decent fix other than replacing it for another unit? Any ideas?
Cheers guys
Can't help with the traction control light sorry...
but I sent my trip computer to these people who fixed it - never had an issue after that

Still got it and still love it

Last time I hit a possum was in my old mans Pajero - all I saw in the rear view was a big cloud of fluff in the head lights of the car following
Poor bugger had no chance

Yes but I won't be there unfortunately.
Standard structure for Auckland meets is the 2nd Wednesday of every month rotating between Albany, Botany, & Westgate.@ADIKT is the area rep and usually makes the monthly meet posts on here but seems to be AFK lately.
Yea sorry mate - been a bit preoccupied with uni and work

Don't know how you guys do it aye. I'm not even low and I spend the whole time worrying about scraping the front bumper on just about every driveway
If I had a nice front lip then I might care a little more lol

I'm just off Rockfield road (close AF to ellerslie)

Choice that's just what I needed to find. That lifts the back up and seems the front just clipped maybe. Should be enough to get under it anyway. Just need to borrow a drill to do the hole.
Most "work on a car" I've ever done lol
Yep - the front part is clipped on to the gear surround (as I said - don't be too scared to give it a lil bit of force)
I found it easier to drill by going from underneath rather than through the top
If your in AKL I am happy to lend you a drill

Currently trying to find out how to take off the arm rest/drink holder type area to potentially run the cable through to there. I get too hesitant about snapping stuff though haha.
I have the aux port in the centre box just next to the cigarette lighter - it's actually really easy to pull apart (a screw on each side hidden by the front seats and one on the rear of it facing the rear seats iirc) - don't be scared... the plastic is quite strong
