  1. Damn I love those wheels and titanium tips... Very nice looking legacy
  2. After trying everything including welding an old socket onto the bolt, it was still stuck on (look at what it did to this adapter...pic below). Finally I had to get it grinded off which managed to release the nut from the bolt, the other side of the car came out a little easier, with using breaker bar more carefully.
  3. haha nice, what supercheap u work at?
  4. yea only 1 bolt. I went to pick a part today but and couldn't find many Subarus with the same nut/bolt and all of them had either rusted or seized nuts so I couldn't get any...xD
  5. Are high tensile nuts and bolts correct for suspension stuff? I also bought ones with a full thread if that makes a difference...
  6. wow you dont see anything like that every day
  7. Thanks for the advice, might try a few things.
  8. LOL I dont know how much they cost but I was thinking 50-150?
  9. Yep. any recommendations for an impact gun? I got a compressor for an air one too.
  10. ohh thats bad xD I torqued them to the specs because I have torque wrench
  11. hmm im not sure, i think the nut is past being saved... I might get my mate to weld an old socket onto the nut and then undo it, probably the only way...
  12. uhh I see, if I had kept the breaker bar perfectly parallel to the nut it probably wouldn't have rounded but I was using both hands to pull and I think it went at an angle and was not properly on the nut...
  13. yea I never use 12 sided ones. I was using a 6 sided socket (not the impact one) I was going to buy an impact gun but never got around to it...
  14. Okay ill take a look okay Im going to lower hutt right now so I might cruise in and take a look if i have time
  15. hmm okay, might have to buy a genuine one from Subaru...
  16. Okay, where did you get new nut and bolt from?
  17. I mean the nut... lol The socket was on it properly was it was a semi long socket and when I was loosening with breaker bar it went at an angle which was far from ideal... Might get my mate to weld an old socket onto the nut and then get it off. the nut/bolt joining the bottom of the rear strut to the control arm or whatever its called.
  18. Im trying to remove the bolt for the rear strut and it was so tight I stripped it. How should I go about getting it off? Should I get a shop to remove it properly and replace it or can I do it somehow? I presume the other side is like it too... need help asap... lol
  19. Just done the front struts and I was starting the rear when I stripped the nut fully around, i used 556 crc before but it was so tight it stripped it however I think It was because I was using the breaker bar and I think that's how I did it (the breaker bar was not properly in line when I was trying to loosen and it twisted it at an angle) anyone have any suggestions on how to get this nut off? edit: the bolt is really tight so a lot of the suggestions I googled will not work.
  20. haha fair enough, I guess I will know if they come loose
  21. I got some struts coming for my car and I found out I need to tighten the lower strut bolts to over 120ft lb (over 160 for the rear) and my torque wrench only goes to about 90, what should I do because I would rather not buy another torque wrench... Is there another way to get them about right? btw are these the right torque setting for the lower strut bolts? (129 for front and 162 for rear and 14.5 for top bolts (ft-lb)) Cheers.
