  1. Yeah I did that just 30 mins ago lol. Helped it a little however I will see tomorrow as its worse when its cold and in the morning for some reason, drove me mad this morning but on my way home it was not too bad...
  2. I haven't modified mine much but I feel that way too sometimes. Currently have a very squeaky front sway bar or something Sucks when its daily too..
  3. Why do I get the impression you think watching someone eat maccas is a waste of time? But yeah I will probably look at that corgiwerx product if you like it. Im also in the hunt for a rear shifter bush that doesn't cost me another kidney.
  4. Oh cool, mine does rattle a little. It says " The R Lock will NOT fit the 06 - 09 Legacy 2.5GT Spec-B or any Subaru with the STI OEM short shifter " What is the "STI OEM short shifter"?
  5. Lucky 5 speed guys I wanna get short shifter kit but costs a bit... Edit: looking on rallysportdirect now at sti ones, not too bad price considering I was looking at the GFB ones which are $350+
  6. Installed Whiteline Anti Lift Kit, Sway bar Bushes, Group N Engine mounts, painted intercooler black (one side only), took off front bar that sits below the grill and got it primed and painted black. Group N mounts are pretty nice. Start up motor and give it a quick rev and engine barely moves. Only been up and down the road so far and it needs alignment so cant comment on much else atm. As long as the Black intercooler stays somewhat black I think it looks good. Big silver intercooler takes your eye off the car mainly because it doesn't work well with blue imo. Still definitely visible to anyone who cares . (yes bumper doesn't fit atm)
  7. Ill try that. The other side of the car fits just fine.
  8. Yeah the subframe bolts to the mount so I guess your right. Just my luck... I might see if I can get a oem or similar front bush as its a different shape and I bet that will fit. Just maybe I can still use those alloy arms... Bush like this:
  9. Wow this is just great... I have my correct size bushes so I decided to start getting them partially mounted untill I found out that my left side mount for where my front lower control arm bush bolts to is bent about 10mm to the rear of the car. The stock arms/bushes just fit but alloy arms with big whiteline bushes dont even come close to fitting. Did a measurement on each side of the car and they came up 10mm difference. I can get the front bush in (just) but the rear bush/mounting bolts dont line up to the bolt holes at all. Any ideas what to do? At the very least I can transfer my anti lift kit to my old arms but that means I just wasted a bunch of time and money . Front bush in: Rear far away from lining up and cannot pull it enough to get it to line up:
  10. Currently wating for 2 sets of bushes to arrive then i can reassemble everything. May have f'd up and made a rookie mistake when changing engine mounts. Just got the driver side mount done. I jacked the engine up under the oil pan but I didnt have a peice of wood or anything the correct size so I just stuffed a bunch of rags between the pan and jack and thought it would be fine so it would spread the weight across the pan however I may have made a small dent in one area about 5-10mm deep. Is this a biggie or shall I take pan off next service and wack it out? Its pretty small tbh. Edit: I found the engine mount nuts and bolts to be looser than expected. The bolts attaching mount to block were pretty loose, I was easily able to loosen them with a normal size spanner and a finger pushing it. The metal plate that joins to the rubber mount seemed only a tad tighter than finger tight. So far only done the driver side mount tho.
  11. Yeah can be very annoying. I already need to wait 3-4 days for those cone bushes so i should be able to sort the front LCA bush by then. So far 2 wrong parts and 1 part I didnt know about. Sounds like my kind of luck when working on cars...
  12. Just found out I might have been given the wrong front control arm bush in my kit (somehow). I ordered WEK076 front essentials kit which " Suits Front bushing length = 60mm " and comes with W52837A front bushes which is correct. I measured my front bushes just now and they are about 55mm so too short. They are supposed to go in the WEK075 kit so I assume they put the W51709A instead of the W52837A, probably a easy error to make as its the only difference between the two front essentials kits and I should have checked first too. Someone put all my empty whiteline packs in the bin so I cannot check the bags for what stuff I got
  13. Kinda want it done today so im just gonna give Subaru a call and see what they got. Will places like Bnt have stuff like this? Edit: Rang Bnt and they didn't seem to have anything. Only have 1 in New Zealand from Subaru so have brought 2 off partsouq which will take 3-4 days.
  14. okay, damn I knew there would be one thing... Thanks now I can complete it
  15. Uhh just realized that my alloy control arm doesn't have the small bush for the ball joint. The arm that came out appears to have something there. @IZichard how did you get around this one.. Old arm: New arm:
  16. Just did this. They are the exact same size as my wagon ones... althought they still had about 20mm adjustment for more toe. I might just leave em on and take to alignment shop and say if he needs to change them ill have to swap them out.
  17. My subframe is out already for sway bar which i just installed (not end links yet) and it has decent roon around it. I might grab one of those from repco if nessesary.
  18. Would this do the job? https://www.repco.co.nz/en/brands/toledo/toledo-inner-tie-rod-tool-set/p/A1271406 Are there any places where you can hire/borrow one? In the US they can loan all sorts of gear from 'autozone' but we dont have that.
  19. hmm, I'll do some more research, would rather do it myself. My alignment guy is 25 mins away.
  20. How tight is necessary as im not going to be using correct tools as a set costs a lot and I dont know anyone with a set. I would rather get this right so a rack end doesn't come off while im driving (if thats possible) Otherwise its sky, road, sky, road, sky, road, crash .
  21. Doing this tommorow. Went in for WOF and needs new boot anyways so im just gonna do em both. So should i still use thread locker or is it not nessesary with a locking washer?
  22. Afaik its I can just use the camber bolt for adjustment...
  23. Im not the guy to talk to about this. Basically the control arms from sedan gives a wider track width as wagons have non alloy control arms which are shorter. I assume its ligher too. A few people have done it here and they can explain better im sure. Whiteline anti lift kit is not nessesary but i needed new bushes anyway so I decided to get it. Yep just checked, they do come with locking washers. Thanks for info
