Id be pretty happy with 500 complete. Yeah its hardly come as a surprise, it's taken 30000ks of my abuse, but I'm still annoyed that my justification for owning a non turbo has now gone out the window lol
Hey guys,
My TS-R has run a bearing, or something else horrific has happened to it, and I need to get it running by the 26th at the very latest.
I'm on the hunt for a non turbo engine, either complete or long block only. Either a 2.0 or 2.5 would suit
If anyone knows of one for sale please let me know
Cheers,
Sam
Found two tyres this avo at Budget Tyres for $30 each, was stoked to have taken advantage of this super deal and then I found a nail in the sidewall of one of my other tyres.
So I still need one or two tyres! If anyone knows where I can get hold of some by 12pm tomorrow and can send me an sms on 0273159609 to let me know where, the beer is on me!
Thats 0273159609
Will check them out cheers Hamish. Fuck yeh I'm looking forward to it! Marshalling in the morning though so it's not a full day of driving
Everyone knows that non turbos are far superior, they're just too afraid to admit it
Still on the hunt if anyone has some lying around
Otherwise I'm gonna have to resort to the tyre shops, any recommendations for a good place to go for used tyres?
I'm after a pair or two of cheap 215/45/17s for a trackday on Thursday. They need to have at least a bit of tread on them without too much wear on outside edges
Not fussed on brand etc, they are going to get destroyed anyway
Let me know where I can get hold of some!
Cheers
Sam
Ruapuna GP - 1:55
Max speed of about 160kph (non turbo power!) on bald achilles tyres
Got this time from the only in car footage I have, and there was a bit of sideways action in every lap, so I'm sure I went around faster than that without the camera rolling
I noticed today that my Legacy doesn't like going into second gear at high revs (at an autocross, not on the road).
It will go into gear but you have to force it in to change quickly and it often makes a bit of a crunching noise when it engages
My clutch has had a hard life but it goes into other gears without a problem which leads me to believe its a gearbox issue?
Anyone have any ideas on whats causing this? Worn syncro?
Cheers
Your adjusties have much less travel than factory shocks so using springs much softer than those in them already will cause the struts to bottom out all the time won't it?
Just sell them and put in factory struts and some lowering springs
Heat wrapped part of my exhaust that runs through the engine bay because it's a bit close to the rocker cover
If you are planning on working with exhaust wrap make sure you wear gloves and long sleeves... my hands and arms are itchy as fuck!
Cleaned fuckn egg remains off the paint
Car is going to be garaged as of next weekend when I move to a new flat, so I won't have to put up with shit like this anymore haha
Not trying to be captain obvious but what pressure are you running in your tyres?
A faulty 02 sensor could cause it. Try driving up a steep hill with your foot down and see if the CEL comes on. Might also be a good idea to replace the air filter and spark plugs.
Next time you fill it up take note of how many k's you travelled since you last filled it and how many litres it used. On the open road my 95 TS-R wagon (same engine) uses about 9l/100km and usually just over 12l/100km around town. I give it a bit of shit too so those figures would be lower if I drove it like a nana.
Recently had some aftermarket tuned (pretty much equal) length headers fitted. Plan was to fit wrx headers but the downwards facing thermostat on the waterpump was stopping them from going on properly
Cat converter is gone too and it isn't raspy at all
What it sounds like:
I can't decide whether to keep these headers on it or swap the waterpump and fit the unequal length wrx ones
