  1. Ha ha fark no, I paid for it I am damn sure gonna be the one to break it
  2. I had mine rebuilt about 4-5 years ago now and it was massively expensive by the time I went forged. If/when I have to do it all again it would be v7 shortblock with my bolt ons. I am in the same club as you in that low 200kw is probably as far as I will ever go so anything more including my current setup is a bit overkill.
  3. Flux Capacitor and or Switch on the steering column. As for why wont DCCD work... Probably the same reason we seem to be in a constant race for who can break the most gearboxes
  4. Sounds rooted to me if tappng on top of it gets it going. But again running the pump with no fluid (Off you battery like you said) is a pretty big no no I think and might have rooted it.
  5. I havent used any of the people listed on here, havent heard anything bad about any of them either. I am Central North Island so quite a way from you guys. I was making a broad comment about tuning in general. I see it more and more lately people looking for cheap tuners and while theres nothing wrong with looking for a bargain its not an area I would be stingy on personally when its the key to your entire package. Again not shitting on any name mentioned in here as I have never used any of them personally and heard nothing but good things about them.
  6. With Koom, pretty tough to read. Assuming its the new pump thats died isnt running a pump without fluid a pretty decent no no?
  7. Tuner is one place I wouldn\'t skimp personally. Its pretty much the most important component in any build because no matter how well put together it is, no matter how proven the setup a cowboy/crap tuner WILL root your engine. I\'m bloody lucky my tuner is close, very skilled and so well priced. Never knew how lucky I was until I saw a few comparisons on here.
  8. Thanks Loren. I will give them a try tomorrow and compare to the local boys.
  9. Alright well those numbers being thrown around mean genuine or Exedy will do fine. But general consensus I can get a better price than the $500+ on the two links I listed? I might try BNT even, they gave me 40% off my last set of brakepads so might score a deal there.
  10. Should be insert AFM I think being a 99. V5-6 got Insert type.
  11. Pretty sure the VF29 isnt the original turbo. The whole JDM thing is a bit of joke, its a WRX import like the majority of other WRXs in NZ making it nothing special. Car used to be owned by someone I know and it is quite tidy. It had a lot of problems with suspension, I am not sure if it was fixed properly or she just covered up the problem before selling so pay close attention to the suspension and everything undercar if your buying.
  12. the miser in me just did a backflip! Who are extreme?
  13. Anyone got a clutch recommendation for a v5 WRX running a bit more than stock power? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/clutches/auction-679991452.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/clutches/auction-680249310.htm Are these good options and if so is the second option worth paying more for? From memory its got an Excedy clutch in it now.

  15. No one has forgot stock height, Loren even posted a pic of 3 at stock height on page 1...
  16. Price looks right to me to. Assuming it comes with receipts for work I would call it a really good deal tbh.
  17. The Copy, Paste force is strong in this one
  18. A WRC car is nowhere near what any of us drive, well with a couple of notable exceptions lurking on this board. I was more pointing out its a similar height to a car I know of that has been purposely raised a bit to handle rough gravely conditions. Hence doesn\'t look to be stock STI suspension. I\'m sure a quick peak at the suspension would answer the question either way for the OP if he even cares.
  19. Duno about the crash angle but surely looks higher than stock to me. Suspiciously like my mates rally/gravelx car running Forrester suspension so it sits nice and high. I reckon your onto something there.
  20. Wouldnt a v7 shortblock with all the bolt ons switched over probably come in cheaper than rebuilding an early block? Or is there to much difference between the blocks over the time frame? Plus there proven to mid to high 200Kw.
  21. So he cant use the extreme argument but you can? Lollipop go is irrelevant because your obviously heading into roadworks anyway so Power isnt needed and fuel economy difference negligible at low engine speed... [/troll]
  22. Well thats probably a good thing. The one I\'m thinking of was a mess. Possibly created by the same Frankenstein.
  23. Is the car a badly repainted blue v5 by any chance original color white? Looks a lot like the engine bay of a car one of my staff members had a few months back.
  24. Stumbled across this, I spy Albaru and maybe Loren also?
