  1. It's such a shame that in this day and age this sort of thing keeps happening.

I'm quite disappointed in the fact that people still write FTP on their cars. In my honest opinion, if you write FTP on your vehicle you void yourself from any government protection what so ever. If I was a police officer and I had to attend a accident where both vehicles were DX's with FTP written on them, I would just drive off. Yes, this is immoral, but the fact that some people have absolutely no mind on their own and do not contribute positively to society is retarded. I support police officers, I think they do all they can, but its just this f***ed up generation that has come to age.

Stereotyping from the media also does not help, by blatantly labeling any and and all motor vehicle accidents that have a wrx/s14 ect as "Boy Racers". For example, that guy who killed that child in that s14 a few weeks ago, I know him, he was a prefect at my school when I was yr 13, I know he isn't a boy racer, but because he drove a s14 and crashed going around a corner in the rain by some freak accident does NOT make him a boy racer. His mrs left him and now he is on suicide watch. Instead its just the medias way of further increasing the gap between what is deemed "Boy Racers" and "Citizens".

If I ran this country, I would change so many things. maybe its a good thing I dont. lol

As mentioned above this is obviously ECU specific, and the label "Turbo" is not overly specific aye :).

    Suggestions:

    (1) Any associated documentaion (manuals, guides) lying around, which might give you a hint?

    (2) Peel back the label - may reveal the chip (IC) manufacturer and model code. This could help to narrow things down. Google search?

    (3) The IC is a 28-pin, in what is commonly known as DIP format. This gives hint to age (possibly) = older (mid to late 90s). Can't quite tell from the photo whether the chip is a wide body DIP or standard (thin) size. Most likely a memory (EEPROM) IC, but could possibly be a microprocessor. But unlikely - most likely a modded/tuned ROM. Once again - very general observations here.

The image you posted is a JECs-based ECU. Your right in pointed out the stock one has the DIP socket missing. Obviously, even if the unknown chip is the correct pinout (for the ECU) - it still *may* not be intended for the above ECU, and you have no idea of tuning params either :)

Interesting stuff though - would be interested to find out what it ends up being! (and from)

Off topic, god i love that video in your signature.

Yup, dead serious, i'm still new to all this, i'm only 19 and only real engine thing i've done is put a 351 Cleveland engine into a '71 XB Falcon.

So in a sence, you could say in still researching and learning the ropes.

  4. I opened mine up not knowing what I was doing, ripped that plastic cover off, removed the brass seal plate thing, saw there was nothing I could do on the circuit board, taped it back on, now its never run better :D

That front bumper looks like its 1 piece, and that its simply added over the existing one (As the spotties are quite far back)

Problem? I reckon it'd be an ancient aftermarket lip. I like it allot. (And i usually hate aftermarket stuff with a passion)

Not at all, I quite like it, I might go about trying to make one. That front grill is pretty awesome too.
