  1. Has it moved at all? Could be stuck on locating tabs.. try parting/splitting it tapping a flat head screw drive between the block and box
  2. Its not going to start if it can't compress the air fuel mix. It will turn over faster because of this.
  3. What fuel pump did you replace with secondhand or new walbro? If fuel pump not the issue then at 230,000 kms its most likely just worn out engine and down on compression perhaps.. Compression test?
  4. Removed the v7 handbrake cables and installed gc8 handbrake cables and adjusted handbrake so happy to have a working handbrake now. Also fitted pink laterials and trailing arms same time feels alot more ridged and firm in the rear . not sure but i think my left rear shock might be knocking? they bc golds and only done about 10,000kms so i hope not but its still under warrenty anyway.. Anyone else had bc golds knock early on in life?
  5. turbo no turbo gf/gc all share same rear bumper and same bumper iron.. that bracket is bolted to the bumper iron.. you would probably be best making something up if pickapart can't help or even go new from subaru Btw if its broke anyway then i would just lop the heads of those rusty screws off and replace bulbs and glue them back on for temp fix till a decent iron shows up at pickapart.
  6. Could always bolt the seat to the floor without the rails, or bang your seat right back and hunch over like a hunch back lol.
  7. maybe because he doesn't lack common sense? If its still the factory fuel pump then it would be nearly 20years old and no doubt around 200,000kms old or why. Factory fuel regs are also problematic. Your right about shinning light in the ports and exhaust valve stems leaking etc which would make it puff blue smoke many on startup unless its really bad but wouldn't cause it to run rough on idle.
  8. I've done a few only had one work on all locks. Its a gamble
  9. Remove the spare wheel and rubber drainage bung poke a longish hose through the hole in the boot and put it in the diff filler hole, i use one of those 1 litre oil containers cut in half and flipped upside down with the other end of the hose jammed in it. BOOM
  10. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUBARU-IMPREZA-GC8-EJ20-EJ25-WRX-STI-INDUCTION-MK5-6-INTAKE-PIPE-SILICONE-HOSE-/350672208158?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item51a5b1411e&vxp=mtr
  11. A friend of a friend sounds like Chinese whispers lol. The videos i've seen of side by side comparasion the max picks up ka band before the v1 there is plenty of youtube comparasions to prove it. Don't get me wrong the v1 is a good radar but you can't compare it to the max it apples and oranges they are different Heres a interesting site for comparasion of the 2 http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/escort-passport-max-vs-valentine-one-comparison-test
  12. I use escort max radar with No xband, Use to own a 9500ixi and was good aswell. I don't know how the 2 compare side by side test but the max is alot better to look at with its lcd display, I know the 9500 has crappy flimzy pos holder. I use to hate it when the 9500 would come off the screen and bounce off the dash on to the floor while driving and it moved around a lot on the mount like its to heavy for it, Even when i use to leave it on the screen over night come out in the morning and its dropped off lol The max holder is solid as and clamps onto the screen i've never had any issues with it and totally trust it won't fall off no matter how rough the road gets, It does pickup low K camera vans and you know from the frequency displayed if its garage door or camera van. On another note the redline and V1 are also good radars i was investigating them before buying the max and although i haven't owned either one i like the arrows on the v1 is always good to know where the signal is coming from and the redline for its early warning detection. I weighed up all options pros and cons and found myself buying a max and haven't looked back
  13. Ross your attention to detail amazes me, you must be in the running for New Zealands most tidiest BH5! Cuddas im over the roads here aswell
  14. Its UV that ruins paint, if it was a heat issue under the bonnet the paint would bubble.. i had paint bubble on a old mk1 2dr escort i had back in the day had 2ltr cortina engine and driving along then the engine started to dying and smoke and flames coming out bonnet lol.. was the fitting that came out of the carb and pissed fuel all over the dizzy, common fault with them wish i could afford one now
  15. Exactly.. and theres no way im drilling holes either lol.. front sti looking lip is as far a i'll go,
  16. Thorpy i'd be keen on a track day when it all set up etc you'll be the first person i contact. Atm its only running j2 ecu, I rekon another 2-3 months will have modded hx40 g4 etc.. I do have full set of near new c31 hankooks sitting in the garage, would be fun on a nice track day with some power behind. thanks guys.. garage thread is pending
  17. Its 50psi static and 43.5 normal isn't it? i've noted below 38psi on fpr will start to have rough idle.. wonder if you knocked/split the blowby hose creating a vac leak removing or installing the engine/gbox, quite common seeing there nothing but a baked rubber hose.
  18. Thanks Tim, Depends on timing bro, Cars going to be off the road for a month or so soonish
  19. From here.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUBARU-INDUCTION-BONNET-VENT-SCOOP-CARBON-FIBRE-/261780463972?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cf354e164 Just tell em you want both sides..theres no logo on mine.. But i must say the finish quality was poor 3months use and had faded quickly could see bubbles in the clear and cracking in places so i had to rub them back line the outsides with paint and spray about 7-8 wet coats of clear to bring them back. was very close to painting them white tbh so might pay to go fibreglass
  20. I would be to where they the ones on trademe for 950ish? Done 2nd oil change on the new engine.
  21. Fuel pump worn out? Disconnect the hose that runs from the fuel filter to the steel fuel line you may have to twist the hose after unscrewing the clamp, i use lilbit of crc helps... grab container hold the hose into the container get get someone to flick the red lights to prime the pump the fuel should come gushing out and speed

    Wrx ra loom

Not really apart from sti has intake air sensor and non sti doesn't don't think it really matters much either way.. if the non sti loom is readily available just grab that edit just re read that.. v3-v4 engine looms are the same
  23. I look forward to the 18psi video lol. maybe try uphill instead of down hill:)
