  1. Whatever fits best. If you are going to go racing, make sure the helmet is an approved standard. You'll need to check the rules of whoever is running your race, as some standards are not recognised by some people but are by others. I got a brand new HJC helmet, Peter Snell standard approved (therefore accepted by MSNZ) for $110 from Red Baron in Auckland.
  2. Right, I've written to Subaru Singapore. There will be no comeback for him from this. I've given them his chassis number too, and asked for them to check if the car was ever sold in Singapore. Cars are so expensive in Singapore that I'm sure it has a Subaru Singapore service history, which should have the true mileage recorded up to a point.
  3. So he knows, but he just refuses to change his listing. What a tosser.
  4. I'm just not allowed to bid or ask questions on his auctions. Big deal. I can still complain to TradeMe about his auctions.
  5. Oh, I just mean yesterday night, I didn't mean every Thursday. I went out to fill up my car last night, swung by the carpark but no-one was there. Meh.
  6. I presume that the usual Thursday meet is off in light of last night's festivities?
  7. Have you reported his fixed price offer to TradeMe? Since we're in the business of squeezing his nads in a vice, I don't see any reason not to wind the handle a bit harder.
  8. Heh. I got blacklisted too. But I reckon there's enough ClubSub members to keep him well furnished with comments and questions for a long time before he blacklists all of us ;D
  9. Heh. Looking at the auction comments, he might be coming after me. Fortunately, he'll never catch me, my "real" STi will be a heap faster than his rebadged thrashed turd ;D
  10. I realised just now that since the speedo cluster has been replaced, the mileage is probably completely wrong. It's essentially a wound back car. Cambelt interval anyone?
  11. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=250446542 This guy has been trying for a while to sell his GDA WRX with various bolt on STi cosmetic bits, claiming that it's a "Singapore spec" GDB STi. Of course, he's full of bollocks, he got ripped off and is now trying to rip someone else off. Someone has bid reserve on his auction, so I reckon we should flood the auction with incriminating questions about his car not being an STi etc, so the buyer gets scared off and doesn't complete the deal. I hate scammers. CarJam shows his plates to be FCA216 and chassis number to be JF1GDAKD33G031867. In fact, if he relists, we should just keep on harrassing him until he changes the auction to be accurate. Because I've complained to TradeMe, and they've done nothing. Did I say I hate scammers?
  12. I've posted this on the NZ Silvia forums as well.
  13. Once again I will be on call. I've also got a really boring work related meeting at 8pm. Could someone do me a favour and page me through the hospital operator, pretending to call me in to work? That way, I can legitimately get out of my meeting and join you guys.
  14. Your car is bouncy because you simply have your suspension bottomed out. Optimal drop on Zerosports coilovers is 35mm for the Winning S, 40mm on the Winning R. Any more and your rear arms will go into positive camber on cornering, so your car will have a really loose rear end with no grip. And with the suspension bottomed out as far as it will go, you simply won't have the suspension travel to avoid bottoming out your bump stops. Put both of these together, and your car will probably handle like sh*t. Quite simply, the suspension design on the GD Imprezas is completely intolerant of lowering without uprated springs and dampers, and even then it will only take so much.
  15. Rebuild the Zerosports without a question. Much better quality shock to start with than D2s, along with much better R&D with regard to spring and damper rates.
  16. Zerosports on mine. Daily driven, predictable and balanced on the track
  17. I've had Mintex 1166 on my old car. A bit dusty, but easy to get off. Squealed a bit around town. But absolutely amazing stopping power, even under torture bedding-in conditions they still refused to fade.
  18. 180awkw on Speedtech's Dynapack hub dyno. 3" exhaust, else stock, engine has 111,000kms.
  19. It is true that the Spec Cs unofficially put out more than 300bhp in stock form. You just can't get official numbers. I've been told they get a little less than the S202, but not by much.
  20. I think it's better to use decent oil like Magnatec and change it often (every 5000km) than it is to get really expensive stuff and change it less often (10000km). I use Castrol Edge 5-30W every 5000km.
  21. I'm non-stop on call for the next 120 hours straight, but I'd be keen to drop by and catch up, even though I have nothing useful to contribute (unless someone loses a finger or a hand).
  22. Did someone kick him between the legs before he went onstage?
