  1. Ok, so, the first one is NOT a 2002 model, it is a 2001 RA. The second one is NOT a PRODRIVE edition, as these came with the WRC front bumper, vented bonnet and Blue dash cluster... Pays to check the tags before buying from a dealer as most of them know jack all! When i brought my RA Spec C, the dealer thought it was an RA only... He also couldn't figure out why i didn't want the 18 inch CHOMES he'd fitted...
  2. V9 Spec C springs must be around, but you'd find the generic lowered ones a lot easier to procure. As to fitting 18's, there will only be problems if you fit less than 4... And, on snow, they are not too bad. But, it is a car, not a snow cat so take it easy.
  3. For the money a V8 or V9 will cost, you'd be better off with a V7 RA Spec C i reckon. You get the suspension mods and...about 250-300kg less weight... Plus, they got the better engines...
  4. Check the bolts that hold the pedal box to the firewall. Mine came loose (?) and began to squeak/creak... Way up under the dash...
  5. If they are spec c ones, then they came in on an import and 10,000km is pretty low for an import... Mine shagged out at around 65,000km on the rear.
  6. Wow, that WAS a bit harsh You have to admit, these insurance companies do try it on... They are in a business where risk is an occupational hazzard, but rather than play the odds and make a tidy profit, they basically load up on no-brainers and refuse anything that has even the wiff of risk! It's not just mods either; there are many vehicle owners out there who can't even get cover for their std vehicles, especially if their titles include STI, Evolution, GT-R or HSV. We have a customer who owns a low k's NZ new Integra Type R; He was with Pioneer and his policy lapsed, so he tried to renew but they won't insure him. I rang around and no-one else will either...at any price. He has coilovers, an exhaust and a brand new Mugen engine as mods, he also has a full (clean) licence, two alarms (factory AND aftermarket), a secure garage and is 27 Y/O. He also has a $600,000 house and was happy to have his home and contents insured along with the car... And still a BIG FAT NO! Way i see it, these companies are either in the business of insuring shit or they ain't.
  7. Typical modifications for a boy racer include: * Larger than original exhaust pipes * Spoilers and bonnet scoops * Lowering a car's ride height * Body Kits and other appearance modifications * Engine and drive-train modificatins * Weight reduction * Deleted safety devices Um, mine came from Subaru like this... ;D
  8. No, seriously, stick with the white ones...
  9. I put those Advans on, initially with 5 mm spacers, and with 48 offset (43 with spacers) they came out quite close to the guards. They are the same size as you are looking at, 17x7.5 but with a 235/45R17. I think 38 will be too much, but it does all depend on the spoke design really. Only way to be sure, fit them... I could have a go myself, but i don't have brembo's so it would still be a guess on that... Go with the Advan RG's on tardme for 590... Get them painted a nice matt black, or bronze...
  10. My V2 STI had TD05, factory it was running 16psi, with slight creep to 17.5...no problems at all.
  11. Yeah, i had run BP 98 for quite a while, but switched to mobil 8000 because (at the time) it was around 6c/L cheaper. Then, after several times lifting the pump at Mobil, and having some 'disembodied voice' tell me i had to pay first, i got pissed off and simply hung up the pump and drove away. In the end, i didn't even bother, moving back to BP 98 instead... Anyone else notice that, even when on prepay, the pumps dispence around 1/2 a litre before stopping... ;D
  12. Go 6 spd, it'll be way easier to buy one and fit it, then fix your 5 spd and sell it to cover some of the cost...
  13. Ha Ha, i spent about 2 hours watching all their other vids last night...
  14. I had an auto '90 GT and it was 10psi factory, but wound up to 15 with no probs...
  15. Probably right, it's just the mufler (including rear pipe) which bolts up to factory exhaust and hangers... Much better than the original V7 STI can it came with. ...and, a bit quieter than the RPS one i had on it.
  16. They are... And i just found a brand new set of V7 STI shocks (still in the Subaru boxes). Can sell the set for $1000 if anybody interested, which is about 30% of retail.
  17. Some late production V8's came with new hubs (114.3)...
  18. This should fit, but it does depend on the spoke shape...
  19. Factory option for GDB, is the way i'd put it to a wof issuer... I'd then let him prove it wasn't original...
  20. If that's what comes std on the V10 RA-R, then yes...
  21. If she's got her heart set on an auto, i'd go for a Forester...
  22. Less PC, more Baton i reckon...
  23. Basically, it'll fit any Impreza wagon from 92-2000 (GC8) or should that be GF8...
