Thats what a dirty old holden does to you, plays nicely then when you least expect it, trys to put you six feet under. My xr6 ute was similar, except was more predictable. Coming up to a corner you would think it was going to be a bit hairy, going through the corner you thought, bugger, this is hairy, coming out the other side thankful you were still alive you changed your y fronts. This would happen on corners marked 65 and doing 65, I shit you not.

Wont know till it comes off, but fingers crossed for no other damage. It runs smooth as most of the time so should be fine.

Problem solved Needs a new head, looks like someone put the wrong headgaskets on it. >

It has got 01 gtb heads in it, talked to the guy who built the engine today. So far it looks like the proma may havedone th trick no noise today yet.

Sorry for the old thread, but how do you grease the bushes?

Its loud enough to scare me, but definately sounds rocker coverish rather tahn blockish. Its a 99 type r but has a v7 block and gtb heads I think. When it happens it starts to run rough, then it picks up again and runs smooth as. Doesnt sound like piston slap or normal lifter noise. Im suspecting valve or rocker somethinish.

eh? I think it may be a lifter or valve issue, but its not constant and goes away most of the time when the cars warm. Threw some pro-ma stuff in today,hopefully somethings just sticking or blocked.

Any ideas? ???

modded of factory spec? Factory, dont mind a couple of small things, but nothing major.

Depends on the car but max 12-14k.

Bit less involving, may have just been the suspension difference though.

Ive also test driven an a v9 sti, was good but a bit "woodier"
