I finished my irst proper car wash last weekend, what difference to the normal. Its amazing what comes off with a clay bar!!. The next question is now my car is dirty again, do i just give it a normal wash and then wax? or do i just wash it?

power steering is not the issue, it's no alternator, which means a tow. personally, if it was so munted you'd need a tow, I'd just fix it myself, then go yell at the mechanic. good point forgot about the ault... although Ricks GT ran for around 4 days with a buggered ault... but yeah id just DIY really? I went for a drive, not realising the alternator was not connected, and got less than half a km! needed to call the AA, who charged the battery for 10 minutes, then told me to drive home without the head lights as fast as possible. I got half way up my steep driveway, and had to charge the battery a bit more ha! makes you wonder why people are raving about electric cars... I bet AA wont be happy about electric cars, imagine the callouts they are going to get!! Good to see you got it fixed easy, always more satisfying when you do it yourself.

I recently sold my v3 sti and am really struggling with buying anything similar again. I loved the car etc but the boyracer bullshit really does get to you at the end of the day.

Dont bother with them, you only get a partial address even if you pay. $2.25 at the post shop is the easiest and cheapest.

My old v3 STI did a similar thing except not when cold. It would normally start first pop in the morning but when you went to start it 4 hrs later, when i went home for lunch, it would turn over as normal, hiccup, then turn over and start. It never got any worse the whole time I owned so I never worried. But i would stilll like to know what it was?

Nope, not really...only done 78000km's, ended up selling it to a car dealer in Hamilton. That shows how cheap it was. I still cant believe it didnt sell sooner.

Ive got similar thoughts, the E46 was supposed to be a much better car and there seems to be a lot about so may be quite a bit cheaper in the next few years.

Thanks I would love an M3 but cant really justify spending 20k on a car to take 1 kid to child care three times a week on the way to work (approx 5km) and the occasional surf trip (10km). So looks like im after a motorsport 328i coupe manual. Whats the difference in motor sport to normal? is it like sti and WRX or mainly cosmetic?

Your probably not wrong on the power thing, but i still need abit of fun. Im hoping they would sort of feel similar power to an XR6, but handle way better. Ive got a couple of kids now and need something thats nice to drive but still has a bit of go.
