Just interested to know the differences and if I should use one or the other. Currently get hesitations when going up hills in low gear as boost builds.

Currently have Copper NGK BKR7E and I heard I should change em every 10k kms, is that correct? Also what Should I Gap them to?

    Yup

Use the ones they tell you to use in the manual - dont over think it :)

the plugs say they come pre gapped but they dont really. iirc gap them to .7/.8 (gapping them really makes a difference)

Copper is fine dont waste your $$ on iridium :) change them if you think they are causing your hesistation - nice and cheap :)

  2. Dunlop DII’s

awesome on the track, tried my best to break grip but couldn’t do it! (Without crashing :p)  Havnt done a lot of road driving on them but they were fine during rain etc, I don’t drive fast when I’m not on the track so can’t say what they’d be like on a wet road while pushing it.

what track days are you doing? Is it the play day ones? I’m keen as on any I might have missed ^_ ^ there’s a sweet tarmac sprint happening just outside of Hamilton - a Msnz event Hamilton car club is putting on - on June 10 if your interested I’ll be there ^_ ^

Made me lol. I think it is pretty common globally for the tax component to be greater than the fuel component of the price. I don't think we are the only ones in that boat.

Yeah I usually do the same, i'm not going to let the price stop me from doing what I want so i usually don't look. I pay monthly on a fuel card for a self service station so i don't even see the price I have paid until I get the bill at the end of the month anyway.

I've only been paying attention to the main stations in town lately as I drive past them going to work each day and I have been finding it interesting watching it go up.

Wasn't diesel under a dollar around middle of last year, or am I delusional?

back at the beginning  of 2016 (I think) diesel was ridiculously cheap, combined with the 20c off per litre supermarket receipt think I think it got down to 60cents / litre. Was only for a few months, I thought it was a “start of the year thing “ but hasn’t done it since :(

Think my utes tank is 50L so varies between 65-75$ at the moment

2.5L diesel turbo gets around 800kms

my rs cost about $120 for 98 and I get about 300kms LOL

i occasionally scan trade me for 1.3L corolla diesels, I assume the mileage they get out of a tank is ridiculously good

@IZichard Literally read the stuff article 5 mins after posting my comment haha doh :P

Did the checker thing and came up reasonably close!

These are the actual costs (apparently) based on 200c.

     Fuel itself: 58c
     GST: 26c
     Other taxes: 66c
     Shipping: 4c
     Margin: 46c

so tax makes up nearly 50% of the total value.. And margin is nearly the same price as the fuel itself..

    Sigh

I like how they made a second tax for it and just called it "other" lol

You might be on to something there mate! I see a Subaru corn powered future ahead of us all.

How much are you paying at the pump for diesel in the North? As you can see it is pretty expensive where I live at 182.9c.

Does anyone know if diesels are being incorporated into the Auckland fuel tax? Is diesel getting the additional 22c at the pump too?

Cant remember as I dont really check the prices i just fill it and pay

might be like 1.40 or 1.50 here?

  5. I say we all chip in a grand each and buy all the e85 we can get. I haven’t done the maths on what profits/when. but don’t worry about the maths the point is we will have a lot of e85 :D

P.s if you wanna save $ on your daily just get a cheap diesel. I get nearly 800kms per tank for around $60 :) if it goes up to $80 per tank It still beats the petrol mileage by around double innit :)

oh yeah someone’s probably gonna day “diesel kms cost blah blah”

And you know what I’m going to say to that riiiight ? :P

Honestly man, when I was writing that line about the power, I was like, I shouldn't do this. Well, serves me right for not listening to my gut. :(

Surprisingly, no genuine inquiries. I thought I would hit a sweet spot in the market (when I listed it), between that untidy one for 13k and that 'person' in East-Auckland for 28k. I was also upset and surprised at some of the comments.

I genuinely feel like I'm offering the market a car that's pretty special and that's not available right now condition-wise and I feel like some people have taken the advertisement out of context and tried to pick holes.

There are also one or two that seem to 'think' they know the history of the car, verbalised it so to speak, and have tried to, what feels like, intentionally give the car a bad rap from the get-go which is incredibly disappointing.

I backed up your claims on trademe, i have no idea if they are true, but whenever I see a group of negative people try and form a negative alliance/group I try my best to ruin it for them with positivity & rainbows lol

    Evening,

Looking at doing adjusties for my v7 STi however not 100% sure on the best product to go with.

Seems BC's are a solid entry level and am pretty tempted to go straight for them, however wondering if it would be better to fork out some more money and go with something more quality...

    What are your thoughts?

Also is it a good idea to replace the control arms/tie rod ends at the same time?

    Thanks in advance :)

I've got BCs in my legacy, awesome upgrade over all the standard S*** imo. Loads of adjustments to get it to suit your needs. I put dampening on half way and got a wheel alignment and its a different car altogether. Even helped with body roll. I have used it on track and will be using it for a grade m learner tarmac rally in June also/ can't wait ! :)

    Sweet go for it m8,

I'm guessing you just pm raydeo and link him to this post

    confirming track ticket swappage

  10. Hey all. Looks like My Rs won't be done in time

so gutted but the good news is it's running mint now and making power, but I need a new exhaust (bigger and free flow) and a new fuel pump (only thing I didn't change) before the tune can be finished

so my spot it up for grabs

late notice but I'm sure someone will jump on a free track day and all the rest

  11. Yeah go uel imo, I'm gutted about the Subi rumble loss I got when going el. Mine are also nzkw iirc were about 7/800, can tell they are high quality.  already thinking about getting mine modified to be slightly uel lol

Avoid ones with Flexi in the uppipe (that's what I got told my couple professionals)

You need to update your garage thread mate, the suspense is killing us. is it all good?

Whoops forgot about that, yes all is good its just getting a few adjustments before it goes back to tune technic, finally gave in and upgraded to EL headers also, at the moment the tune is at about 200kw @ 15psi - tune not finished yet just on a safe map while its getting touched up :)

Most people here thinks I should not get a stock location turbo for various reasons but I see lots of people with TD05s that are very happy them and especially as I not looking for huge power right now I dont see why I need to spend 4k on twisted setup. Im listening to both sides so Im still undecided, probably just gonna wait for now and see what happends. Didnt your mate buy that turbo?

Nope, he doesn't have a link and you can't tune the stock bc5 ecu (chips don't count irl imo :P ) so he decided not to, now it just lives in my garage amoungst the other parts, wrapped in gladwrap, sitting, waiting to be installed :)

lol thats quicker spool than my VF30. 22.6psi at 4650.

Was your Td05 Kinugawa stock location and would you recommend one over a vf considering the cost.

    Different strokes for different folks

however I won't be going back to a vf anythang :)

    Yes stock locatipn

Cant remember your dyno results but the td05 in my shed would get you to 220kw easy .Good bolt on and tune mod I guess
