  1. connected them in the morning, no difference, still cutting @ 9psi, my boss recons the knocking sensor would have fucked out, what do you guys recon? the engine doesnt knock at all its a very tight engine because of its low kms and good service history
  2. oh, i disconnected both my battery terminals and pumped the brake a few times and was going to leave it overnight, should i put the terminals back on then remove the negitive one and do it your way or will my way work?
  3. Yeah but what plugs do i plug in for it to flash? black plugs or green plugs? and do i plug them both in, ? limp mode? maybe i should reset my ecu tonight?
  4. Heya guys, sorry just thought it would be better suited to post here Basically the problem is once the boost rises to 9-10psi it cuts it feels like the same cut that you get when you overboost to 18psi ~ and the factory ecu cuts the fuel anyone know what the problem could be? boost solenoid? (have tried with it unplugged also and it doesnt make a difference) the car has just had a full service, 4 new spark plugs and 1 brand new coil pack installed due to mis firing and car is running mint other than it boost cutting at 9-10psi help! 0210666306 or just post on here
  5. hmmmm, car running fine but its still cutting out once boost reaches 9-10psi... any ideas?
  6. WOOT! suby running perfectly now now ive just gotta revert back to the standard intake and im away pods suck tbh (i realise my pod didnt cause this problem), i recomend everyone sticks with there factory air box, theres a reason why it was made that way in the first place this is the first time ive had a subaru coil fail on me, but hey wasn't that expensive to fix
  7. coil pack just arrived, was $118 including freight, man that was quick will be putting it in sometime within the next hour or so, i am ment to be working lol
  8. ^^as above, the OE ones that wrx use that bolt ontop of the engine and just run ht leads to spark plugs
  9. yup, prety sure you're right aye, the ignitor isnt part of the coil, i may be wrong but i dont think so i ordered a new coil from winger today... should arrive this arvo
  10. i tested the coil and its not sparking the spark plug at all (spark plug not earthing to the engine) and the spark plug is brand new which i installed myself i have to admit the car has been getting slower and slower over that last 2-3weeks but i just thought it was me driving it like a nana because its so cold in the mornings i have compression testers at work will do today at some point will also swap coils over, will it be ok to swap the coil with another one from the oposite bank?
  11. Hey all am just in need of 1x subaru coil pack for a 1989 turbo legacy bc5 surely someone must have one laying around the wanted forum just doesn't get much notice from people selling stuff so thats why i posted it here any help would be much appreciated! 0210666306 oh im in auckland btw cheers update! dw
  12. jaycar sell them, and they come with a plastic key thingy you can just leave in there if you want. so you just unlock the car with an alarm remote, un-immobilize it, and press the button pretty groovy put it under your handbrake or in your glove box
  13. tested 1 coil not working the coil that sits oposite the battery on the right hand side back (when looking at the engine from the front of the car - the closest coil to you on the right hand side) so just after 1 coil now please if anyone has one laying around id be very keen! ;D
  14. usually when the oil seal blows it lets oil into your red hot exhuast system causing it to burn and come out the exhaust, or if you have an exhuast leak from anywhere it will come out there look did you connect you oil lines up correctly? maybe you have and outlet on your inlet? pretty hard to get mixed up but meh
  15. hmmmm interesting the majority of people on clubsub are genuine so id say maybe you put the turbo on wrong rather than the turbo being poked? not that hartd to put a turbo on though, sounds like blown turbo oil seals to me
  16. did you get the turbo from a reliable source or off trademe?
  17. brumby gen2 and baja the baja actually looks sweet for that type of car imo the colours pretty crap but black and sacked would be saxy
  18. blown turbo seals id say, but cant really tell without looking at the car
  19. Am thinking of doing this i fit turns out my coil packs are poked im guessing i would benifit from doing this? anyone else done this before? i tried googling it but not much luck i guessing the hardest part for be wiring, and would the subaru ignitor work with these coils or does it have an ignitor buit in? chairs
  20. i had the same problem when my car was impounded a few years back and i was removing it from the towing storage someone at the tow yard and fiddled with my engine, and driven it (i wrote the kms down when it was towed away) they had driven it till empty, or nearly empty and the gas simply evapourated in the tank while it was sitting. when i went to pick it up, it wouldnt start, dead battery, put a jumper on it, would crank crank crank, but nothing, got some gas, tipped it in, crank crank crank, waited for ages, kept trying, but nothing ended up towing back to my house i took the spark plugs out, cranked the engine a few times without the plugs in (its good to do this but make sure your coil packs are out of the way) while they are out check the spark plugs are sparking and earthing to the car. i put it back together and turned the key vrooom started first pop taking the plugs out can be a hassle with subarus but if you take your time its easy as on the left bank remove all the air intake so you have room on the right bank remove the battery and winder wiper tank and slightly jack the engine up on the right side (not too much just a bit) will make life alot easier hope this helps
  21. p.s; its not the battery either, because i put a brand new fully charged one in it at work and it didn't make a difference. today ill go buy 1 new coil pack, and change them around 1 by one lol ill grab another air flow meter while im at it, god i hope this fixes it lol its weird when the engine is cold it will only idle for about 3 seconds, as if it will be idleing fine then just stall for no reason. then when its warm it will run fine but every 5 or so seconds will miss and almost stall now it just runs on 3cylinders constantly, doesn't miss, im gussing because the cylinder that was missing is now not running at all lol when it was running on 4 cylinders it would act as though it would miss/ be fouling when i put my foot down, but will little acceleration would run fine any help would be much appreciated!
  22. should i put oil on it? would have been quicker just to answer lol
  23. 15w40, was using 10w30, thought it was a bit thin for the age of my engine
  24. sweet as, do you have a mobile number? pm me or txt me it on 0210666306, cheers
