  1. K sweet. Thanks for the advice
  2. Yea I got rotors with the brakes, they just need to be skimmed a little. So other then putting some V7 wheels on, sorting a cert and getting the adapter or hubs theres nothing else that would really be an issue with this swap?
  3. Sweet, cheers for the advice. I'll have a chat to the guy and see if I can get the hubs from him. Let's just say he doesn't have them, what can I do about the adapter? Can they be custom fabricated or do you have to buy them?
  4. Ok - so scratch the idea about the standard wheels. Figured the warrant would be a problem. Was considering getting some adjustables as well as a cert, so I could get the brakes certified at the same time, correct?
  5. Hi guys, Recently came across a full set of Brembo brakes from a V7 sti RA at a price that was just too good to let go by. Now, I've got a 99 BE Legacy B4 and I know that they don't fit over these wheels as they currently are. So..... 1- Was thinking of getting some spacers , 10-15mm or so, and still using the standard B4 wheels. Would this clear the brakes if I do so? 2- The guy who I got the brakes off also has a full set of mint V7 wheels, so I was thinking of getting these, getting them painted to match the colour of my standard wheels, and chucking em' on. Also, the fitment of the rear brakes.... Ideas ??? Opinions please guys Cheers
  6. Hi Guys, Just a quick question.. My RSK has the green (un-tinted) speedo in it. I'm just wondering... if I purchased a white (tinted) one whether it would be a straight swap. Also, does anyone know of a place where I could get the KMs matched from my old green one to the new white one ( If such a place does exist ) Cheers
  7. Alright, so I will tell this right from the start. I brought my car around a year and a half ago and as far as I know, it has never worked properly. The primary turbo was only running 3-4 psi, but when the secondary kicked in it ran 15psi which was fine when passing, but around town it was gutless as f**k. The secondary also came in late – around 5000rpm-5500rpm. It has run like this right up until recently, when it has decided to not run the turbo’s at all. I have checked all the vacuum lines against another RSK which was working fine and found two lines were around the wrong way, ( under the inter-cooler ) so I switched them back to the proper way, reset the computer, and still no boost. My mate then suggested that the turbos could be on there way out, so I took the exhaust off and checked the play on the turbo's. Both the turbos had very minimal play, but the primary turbos turbine could be moved back and forth when pushed, were as the secondary stayed dead still..... After that I tried connecting the green plugs under the dash, started the car to let it collect vacuum, then switched it off and let it run its check cycle. It turns out the actuator on the driver’s side turbo isn't opening and closing and also the valve under the inter-cooler isn't moving either. I tried the same test on the working car and both the actuator and the valve were moving. I have also tried other B.O.V's, reset the computer several times, cleared the codes and have checked all the lines for leaks, all of which has still not fixed the problem. The next thing I'm thinking of trying is taking the BBOD out of the working car and putting it in mine to see if that’s the problem. Is there anything else that I can try that I may have missed? Could it be the actual computer playing up? Any help would be great Cheers
  8. Hi Guys, Just a quick question.. Is it possible to put a BBOD from and auto RSK into a manual RSK of the same year? Just wanting to test it Cheers
  9. You can get foam like the stuff shown in the previous picture from most independently owned computer stores ( Not Harvey's or Dick Smith Electronics, smaller local outlets ) The stores get tooooones of the stuff when they order in computer parts like motherboards and video cards. I got a whole bunch of the foam when I was putting in my speakers in They should just give it to you as normally they hiff it out. Give that a try ;D
  10. If you were to take it out I would be more than happy to buy it from you ;D
  11. I had one of these car until I sold it a couple of weeks ago. They are great! Used it as a run-about for a good couple of years and not a single problem
  12. I have the exact same problem with my B4! I have tried a lot of different things, but with limited success. I've changed the BOV and had a look at most of the vacuum lines, but that hasn't seemed to have changed much. Next thing to try will be the BBOD. The second turbo in your car still works fine?
  13. I wouldn't say the spring would be 4psi as if the car is bellow 2500rpm the primary turbo runs 10-12 psi. Anything above 2500rpm and it runs 4psi until it reaches the secondary
  14. A while back I tried checking the codes, but it didn't bring up any errors at all. I reset the computer after checking it, but it still ended up doing the same thing unfortunately
  15. Thanks for that. I'll go and check over the vacuum lines now, then get back to you with what I find.
  16. Does the engine turn over? Or does it make a sound like a rattle gun when trying to start? Have you tried another battery?
  17. I recently tested the computer for any errors, but it didn't come up with any as the check engine light kept on flashing, and didn't stop on a set code. After testing it, I reset it, just to be on the safe side, and when I was driving it with the two green connectors connected as well as the two black ones, the boost did rise, but kept on dropping back between 2500rpm and 3000rpm. After driving, I disconnected the black and green connectors and it just went back to what it is currently doing. This was when I started replacing some of the vacuum lines. Should I give resetting the computer another try since I have replaced some of the vacuum lines?
  18. When I replaced the lines I was very careful to cut them to the same length, and made sure that if they had a restrictor in them, that it got put back in the right place. The new lines have been in for around a week, but I will check them again just to be sure. On the Black Box of Doom I have replaced line 1 and 2 going under the intercooler, but haven't had time to finish off the rest. Whrn should the secondary turbo be coming in?
  19. oohhh now thats interesting Does that give you any clues as to what it could be? -smurff
  20. Is my secondary coming in later then it should? I have lots of vacuum line so I could replace all the lines on the secondary side if that would help. I have already done the primary turbo side of the engine, but that didn't help. I thought that the 98-02 B4's and GT-B's had only one B.O.V on the intercooler ???
