So yesterday we decided to change the gearbox oil on my car as I have mentioned before.
This brought out three things :
1) When I went to BNT, they convinced me that the Redline Shockproof 75/140 was the oil to get, not 75/90, as that's what they know are run in some race cars. Would they be right on this, or did I just spend a lot more money than I needed to ?
2) Got the car up on jacks, and noticed that this pink K frame was in the way of the bolt to undo to let out the gearbox oil. So it appears you would have to take that off to get to this bolt. However, the K frame is bolted right onto the control arm ( I think that's what it's called ) so if you undo the bolts, I don't know what would be holding the wheel on when it's in the air. What's the story with that ?
3) When it was up, I saw the inside of my right hand side tyre. It's down to metal !! All the rubber has been ripped off to about 3 inches in, and the belt is showing pretty much all the way around. It was aligned about 1000km ago, and the camber etc was setup then as well. What would caused this very strange wear ? The left hand side was also worn, but no where near as much.
