adding air in the recording process is what give s a recording spacious sound and is a plug in that was ported from tapes to new age sound equipment to mimic this effect ever heard drop it like its hot by snoop dogg well the loud hissing noise is air amplified like 20 times

Okie dokie!
I have the only 2 Stetsom 10kd's in the country. They're factory modded by Stetsom, they do about 12800wrms each @ 12v @ 1 ohm and a shade over 20kw each when fed 18v.
Top that

I'm going to raise the ante here and say that every component in an audio system affects the sound. Source, amp, speakers, interconnect and speaker cables... they all make a difference and they can be night and day.
I was reminded of this recently when a good friend of mine was auditioning home hifi. He had one source, two sets of speakers, two amps and two sets of speaker cable. Changing one item at a time, we could both recognise a difference between them and could identify which one was which.
It seems to me to be all about finding a combination that works well together.
I'm sure the same applies in car audio but I'd argue that the installation is much more important in car audio as a car cabin is a terrible acoustic space to deal with!

Spark Plugs, Oil Change And A WASH!
/quote]
I did my spark plugs last week, i must say what a pain in the ass it was getting to the passenger side rear one.
Today i clearcoated the recently cleaned up strut brace and coolant reservoir, and started cleaning the radiator fans bracket thing so i could paint it, ran out of time because i had to leave for work.
Just a quick hint for the spark plugs other than taking out the battery and washer bottle and the aorbox from the other side,I undo the engine mounts ( 2 nuts) and then jack up the engine a few inches makes a HUGE difference
Yeah i removed the battery and washer bottle from the left side and the air filter from the right. Was still fiddley

I'm wit nick jumped on the DLS bandwagon a while ago but rainbow was to big for my pocket still running my Mrv 745 and mrd amp from alpine still goin strong after8 years quality stuff

yea I believe in that motto to you really do get what you pay for these days
-
thats great got your attention not much audiophiles round these parts I'm on the level that if all things are the same power wise all working and warmed up properly running through the same speakers there should be no discernible difference noticeable to the human ear but its a great debate for sure heres the link I have been reading lately
-
Hands up if you think different brands of amps sound different? Can one brand lets say Infinity sound better than Alpine? Now with all the settings set flat no bass expanders no filters no nothing, could you tell the difference between the 2? can an amp sound sonically better than the next?
-
For rock you really want a solid front stage, spend some money on some good 2-way components and a 4-channel amp which you can bridge to them and run some decent power, maybe 200wrms per side up front so you have lots of headroom.
6x9's are great if you don't have a sub but if you do have one all they tend to do is drag the soundstage to the rear... when you go to a concert, you don't face away from the band.
Subs, flick them on Trademe and get a single good quality one in a good box. You'll be amazed what a difference it makes.

You can pretty much copy and paste that to many non-audio noobs on car forums hahaha.
But yes, I totally agree with this.
-
can vouch for infinity speakers. very nice sound clarity and go bloody well. no real need for subs

i think comparing steve's modified vf23 to a vf34 (rare as f*** and pricey) and a $2000 garrett is a bit of a stupid comparison. i don't think steve markets a service that he can turn any turbo into a 300kw turbo. he'll rebuild and modify a turbo that YOU provide him to get better performance out of it.
how about you compare his vf23 to a standard vf23 instead??

Im looking at the Speedsource article now, it doesn't say its stock at all, in the tuning menu it says "factory twin-scroll STI turbo, custom Speed Source/Motorsport Engineering compressor wheel/turbine"
