  1. Heard about that a while ago when the banning of radar detectors was floating around (yet again?), i dont think they are really a problem in dunedin though? Also, irrelevant but i see the police have a new speed camera van? Its a brand new silver Hyundai. Saw it about 10 min's ago parked on andy bay road, outside southern motor court.
  2. Yeah , Yeah, if dubbed up's one falls through i think ill be heading his way. Thanks
  3. Ive already said he's not coming with me if that's his intentions
  4. That would be great, or even tomorrow night if your around. Flick me a text 027-4542-682. Thanks, Ben
  5. Yeah ill be there unless something comes up.
  6. Fair enough. Yeah normally straight forward. Just can't be bothered buying a BOV then having to fork out more money for a adaptor to mount it.
  7. Hey mate, is it straight bolt on or did you need a adaptor? . .How much, or was it already on the car when you purchased it. Could be keen to check it out some time.
  8. Yeah hear good things about them, made specifically for the B4 too i think? Know of anyone with a spare one lying around?. . .
  9. Hi all, Considering the thought of a BOV for my '99 B4 (solely for the sound, its addictive!). Just wondering what people primarily use on this model of car/ what you advise using. Some link's/ prices would help. I was originally looking at the GFB Hybrid, solely because of the reputable brand and straight bolt on feature. Anything helps, Ben
  10. We need to rep the clubsub stickers too, not many people have them these day's - Including me, but a new one is on the way soon
  11. Might pop along for a wee look. How many people usually attend?
  12. Back to the topic, would have been keen for a cruise out highcliff if i wasn't working. Was out there yesterday afternoon, great day up there without the wind.
  13. Yeah scoop looks mint on a wagon. Should be attending the meet this friday, missed last months one =/. Possible cruise, or is everyone's wallets pinching?
  14. My check engine light has been coming on every now and again for the last week now. Seems to happen when; Engine is hot / braking down hill for a fairly long period at 80km/h in 4th or 5th gear. Any advise? Unsure of how to check engine codes as dont know were terminal connections are etc so was just wondering if problem was generic first . . Thanks
  15. Yeah pretty much. Uhh $434.26 all up. At least it run's again!
  16. Ok guys. Got car back from subaru last night, running great again. Just FYI, below show's the service invoice: check vehicle for not starting carry out diag tests code 13 camshaft pos sensor fault in memory code 24 idle speed control valve (stuck) supply and fit new cam pos sensor - still no good follow test proceedures check cam sensor input signal at ECU with osilloscope - no good check input signal of cam sensor wire - OK carry out continuity test from sensor to ECU - 1 wire ok, 1 wire open circut trace fault back to engine room harness not properly plugged in re plug in - all OK , clear memory and road test - positive result NOTE if vehicle developes idling problems, recommend replacing - idle speed control valve [in memory old fault]
  17. Sorry. It's a 1999 Subaru B4 MAN. Just ticked over 138km's now. Stock standard engine wise.
  18. Yeah the AA guy mentioned a possible burnt out electrical wire to the fuel pump. Didn't get time to check the codes being thrown out - Even if i did i would probably be sending it to get fixed any way (my time is limited these days).
  19. Hi guys, Bit dissapointed. 2000km's down the road from purchasing my first turbo subaru i have my first engine problem. 80km's in 3rd gear joining motorway i lose all acceleration / rev's fluctuate all over the place / engine dies and have to resort to a rolling stop followed by engine check lights etc. Call the AA out, cant fix the problem. Engine turns over fine and compression in all cylinder's but wont start - Checked all fuses / gave fuel pump a slap / tried putting some starter additive into the engine all with no luck. So after 2000kms its already in with Subaru who plan to check it out on Monday. Hopefully it's nothing major but i am sceptical. NOT happy :-[
  20. Yes flat ground in my garage. Oil in the right place =) . . . upon being cold oil is reading fine again. Little over the full mark but not too worried - Most people have been saying they add 500ml's extra to compensate flowing through the engine.
  21. Thanks for all the tips everyone. Car is sitting in garage cold now so will do a oil check and post my results. Hoping the oil has gone UP =)
  22. Yeah thats what i thought. After sitting in the garage for 2 hours i would have expected the oil to have drained down. Have now added 1L of oil and still no reading change on the dipstick. Do I A) Add MORE oil , even though it was at the full mark around 200km's ago B) Leave it and drive the car tonight, re-check oil when engine is completely cold in the morning. P.S to my knowledge the car is not using any oil. Not a flicker of smoke from the exhaust to be seen either.
  23. Many thanks for that guys, Also one more question. How much oil should show on the dip stick while engine is warm (sitting for say an our)? The car while cold is dead on the full mark, but after coming home and checking the oil tonight it's on the low level marking. Added about 800ml of oil but didnt change the levels showing on the dip stick. My forester (N/A) only takes about 300ml to change the dip stick level from low to high. Thanks
  24. Hi all, Quick question, probably answered here before but need a bit more detail (pics helpful!). Just like to know were the best place is to spray the Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner. Planning on flushing it through my engine, just wanted to clarify that i am planning on doing it the right way - first time used before / limited knowledge on turbo powered cars makes me feel un-easy :-[ Many thanks
