  1. I'm assuming they are 8ohm, as they are being run from a Macintosh amp somewhere, and being run in parallel with the tweeter, which is probably also 8ohm, letting the amp see a 4ohm load over the 4 speakers. Replacing it with another 8ohm speaker, is definitely the best option in that respect, if you're not wanting to bypass the amp. What speakers you can find in an 8ohm configuration will just come down to a google search, I don't know of any off hand So that one from Jaycar would definitely be an adequate replacement. If you're replacing one, then I'd recommend replacing the other side as well. if one has bust, chances are the other isn't far off busting either.
  2. I wouldn't bother rebuilding them. New speakers are cheap enough, and probably better anyway.
  3. Yes but I figured that if they ask it, then I should supply something accurate.
  4. So I'm being lazy and asking for help. I'd like to know what an 18" wheel with tyre weighs. I don't care too much about what kind, just any kind. It's to put into an online calculator so I can figure out how much it will cost to ship a set of rims, to various places. My wheels are in the garage, under a multitude of other things, so I really don't want to have to take everything off them, so I can get the weight. If someone has an 18" wheel & tyre sitting around and can weigh them on a scale, that would be great. Cheers
  5. My idea: Meet at Petone Foreshore, cruise up SH1 to Lindale for food, then to Pram beach for Photoshoot 1. From there go to Southwards for Photoshoot 2. From there, 10 pin bowling at Pram. Then people can make up their minds from there, whether to do more. A couple of caveats: I don't know what Lindale cafe is like as a food venue - space for parking etc, but it's an advertised tourist spot so it should be decent.. I've only ever been there for ice cream hahaha; Alternate meeting spot in case of bad weather
  6. Not bothering with it for now, so don't worry. I was planning on getting a Racetech seat, but it seems that certing issues are tough to get around. If you can use the seat using factory rails without modification, and the seat belt anchorage is in the same position as OEM.. then no cert is required. I'll sort it out if / when I have more time / can be bothered.
  7. Phillip - I think perhaps you should get the owners consent before posting pics of their cars lol... I don't think either of them use these forums much..
  8. I was also wondering if Lindale would be a nice place for lunch... the Cafe there is quite good?
  9. I'm also free on the 25th.. it's the only weekend day that I am free for a while. Would Paraparaumu beach be a good setting? Then find somewhere for lunch, either before or after the photos?
  10. If it's off the same model, then yes it would. You'll just need to drill holes for the bolts, and possibly inside as well to access the threads to put nuts on.
  11. If you don't know it, it's a site where you register your car, and you can keep an up to date log of your vehicle, all it's stats, parts, mods etc. it's pretty cool, and VERY comprehensive. I plan on doing all my updates on there. It's probably only good if you have a car you've had for a long time, or plan to keep and want to document everything you've done. if you're the kind of person who keeps cars for only a short time, and don't really get too attached to them, then it's probably not worth the effort. If you're interested: https://www.wheelwell.com/ And my car's garage: https://www.wheelwell.com/profile/55663e005e026d0a0700124f/vehicles/55663e895e026d0a07001253/specs/ I think you need to create an account and log in to view though.
  12. So I'm wanting to run wiring underneath the seat to install a stereo amplifier in the back, abut I can't figure out how the rear seat squab comes off. In older model Subaru's this has been easy, by undoing two bolts and it lifts off, but this isn't the case here. There is a handle which can be turned upwards, but I have jiggled the seat quite rigirously but to no avail. I can't see any bolts anywhere else to undo either, unless there are some under the rear of the seat, accessed under the carpet in the cargo area? I haven't looked under there yet Can anybody help? Here's an image of the seat base:
  13. Yeah I always liked living in that area of the city. CLose enough to the city to still be convenient, but far enough to not be too expensive. Garages are often harder to get anywhere i the Wellington region, you're often paying more for the priviledge. I lived in the Newlands, Woodridge, Churton Park area for a number of years, but I live in the CBD now.
  14. Mine on the weekend after a full groom
  15. Can someone please post up a close up pic of how the seatbelt stalk is mounted to the rail - is it mounted to the rail / runner, or to the seat itself? This is to figure out how easy / legal it will be to install a race seat onto factory rails. IE: can the seat itself be removed from the rails, with the seatbelt staying on the rails? Preferably on a seat from a V7 or higher WRX / STi. I'd also like close ups of the underside of each rail as well, as well as dimensions of the bolt holes that hold the seat to the rails. Cheers
  16. That's good to know.. I'll keep that info handy for when I'm due to get more
  17. Haha you asked this question from the FB thread on Subaru Parts, didn't you? How I look at it, is that it is an STi, but not in the same way that a WRX STi is an STi. It doesn't have the same engine configuration, driveline etc, but it does have a bunch of STi optioned parts, be they dress-up or not. And it came from the factory like that, it hasn't been 'dressed-up' by somebody on the street. The girl who started it is right, as well as a bunch of other comments on there. It really depends on your POV. Is the thread gone now? I went looking for it again but can't find it?
  18. Ok sweet then. I'm keen for food beforehand.. F&C at 6:30? Also Further to previous question.. what's the cost?
  19. It might be too late notice... maybe just do another dinner outing and keep this for next month. In saying that though, if it's kept at the last Wednesday in July which is the 29th, I won't be able to go anyway.. lol
  20. What the sub needs, is basically dependant on the subs power handling. Find that out, then you'll know. And go by the RMS value, not the MAX value.
  21. What I would do is 3" Turbo back, then to a 2.5" Axle back to help keep the sound down.
  22. Exactly.. which way do you turn when you indicate? Lol..
