  1. When i was driving to get a new battery as the one i'm using is on it's last legs...so decided to turn back home and ask you forumers if you have any idea why it did!! I'm assuming it would not have anything to do with the battery, there's plenty of oil, no unusual noises, no smoke etc it just came on!! I have put my battery on the charger to see if that changes it but wold appriciate any info you guys may have to help me out!!
  2. Yesterday after 3 months i took my WRX for a run i got about 5 kms before feeling a kind of light shuddering(like tyres going down or gone down) so i pulled over check them and no they were fine carried on a bit, then the Check engine light came on...so straight back home i go...pop the hood and its running very hot(even though the temp guage was normal mid way!! Started it this morning and ran it for about 10 mins...everything seemed fine...no check engine etc... any ideas guys...maybe just blowing the cobwebs from sitting for a couple of months :-\
  3. I have been there in the past, and NO matter what they found something wrong with my cars...and always said how they can do me a deal on the work that needs done : : Thats why i went to VTNZ my theory was with no workshop i shouldn't get screwed around...haha yeah right
  4. At the end of last week, both my cars were due a fill so insted i stuck 10 litres in each to see what mileage i would get in my 92 NA wagon i got 97kms before light came on with 91 and in my WRX got 93kms(not boosting much) using 95... It seems i'm getting less mileage then most, which dunedin hill could contribute to that! Though my wagon getting that kind of economy is alarming esp when i only still have it as a run around and "supposedly" to save me some $$ :
  5. Are the electrics working and is the check engine light coming on...could be an ECU issue!
  6. God i truly am retarded, for some reason i had 9 dollars 43 cents in my head, i guess 3 days in bed with the flu has made my reading comprehension and maths purely awesome :-\ thanks for clarifying that up...and making me feel very stupid...lol *sneeks off out of the thread*
  7. Who cares!! either way its only 5 cents per litre not half a cent nor 50 cents that were mentioned in earlier posts
  8. I truly dont see it!!, i'm no maths wizz but have passed maths up to maths 160 level.... Like i said either way it's only around 5 cent per litre...no biggie really!! As far as i can see $0.56 does equal 56 cents which is not even the correct levy which is 4.7 cents or $0.047....as far as i can see.... Lets wait for the accountants and see if they can correct us... Oh and Joker i would assume half a cent would be $0.005...but again i could be wrong
  9. Either way its only around 5 cents per litre and not 56 cents as originally thought with the 0.56 call...maths is not a great deal and we are not on a maths forum but remember anything left of the decimal is dollars!! $1123.56= 1 thousand,1 hundred, twenty, three dollars DECIMAL POINT 56 cents
  10. oops that was mine just stuffed up the quotes...here it is again: Sorry but you are wrong 0.56 cents per litre does not equate to half a cent per litre but in fact 56 cents... remember primary school, ones, tens, thousands so 1.00=1 dollar.. 0.50=50 cents..0.05=5 cents! see acc's website for correct levies: http://www.acc.co.nz/for-business/levy-consultation/current-levy-consultation/BUS00113
  11. .56 cents per litre DOES mean about 1/2 a cent per litre. so does .47 the change is still ROUGHLY half a cent, per litre. not 5 cents. you can't just move it a decimal place because you only remember $1.74 as the price. it might actually be $1.7375 but you pay $1.74 the oil companies, however, deal in MILLIONS of litres, so those tenths of a cent end up being quite a bit of money. quote name='loren] Sorry but you are wrong 0.56 cents per litre does not equate to half a cent per litre but in fact 56 cents... remember primary school, ones, tens, thousands so 1.00=1 dollar.. 0.50=50 cents..0.05=5 cents! see acc's website for correct levies: http://www.acc.co.nz/for-business/levy-consultation/current-levy-consultation/BUS00113
  12. Hahahaha what a dumb ass i am...just read over my posts again and realised i was wrong...how about 0.047 :-[ =4.7 cents...as 0.47 would be 47 cents.. my bad and appologies loren ;D
  13. Contradicting what? that others thought that 0.56 cents per litre was actually half a cent per litre...i was being a smart ass!! maybe reading all the posts before piping up might help
  14. http://www.acc.co.nz/for-business/levy-consultation/current-levy-consultation/BUS00113 Did a little www'ing yesterday and found this: Motorists Motorists pay for most injuries involving moving vehicles on public roads, through a combination of a levy: paid by motor vehicle owners through their annual vehicle licensing fee (the levy is based on the type of vehicle) on petrol sales paid by vehicle users. ACC proposes: *increasing the combined average motor vehicle levy from $254.63 to $287.00 per vehicle *increasing the petrol levy for 2009/2010 from 9.43 to 9.90 cents per litre and *increasing the average licensing fee per petrol vehicle to $168.45, resulting in a combined average levy rate of $287.00 per petrol vehicle *maintaining the existing nine vehicle classifications. For more information about what your levy could be, see the Levy risk group document for your industry. So ACTUALLY the price increase is 0.47 cents per litre or for the less matmatically inclined members that means 4.7 cents per litre
  15. Bolts??? mine seems to be welded on ::)but a removable bolt on would be the ticket ;D
  16. ;DYou over estimate my wagon bud, it's a non turbo..so from what you say,may possibly be easier ::)not to jinx myself lol Thanks man
  17. Name: Clifford Car/s: 1994 WRX Sti--1992 BF5 Wagon--1987 SWB EVO Pajero turbo Email:[email protected] Msn:[email protected]
  18. That's what the dude told me!!! and it costs $350 and once you do that(and pass) they will pass you ??? Seems bloody ridiculous!
  19. My clutch pedal on my BF5 Wagon has become very long and is only grabbing the last inch of being extended, there is no slip or anything and i have done everything i can think of to remedy this..too no avail and am thinking a clutch replacement is due! How hard is it to replace a Subaru clutch?? i have replaced them in other cars but have heard something about havin to remove the radiator and moving engine forward to help get the gear box out on subbys ...which seems a little drastic to me!! Any ideas on my clutch issue or gearbox removal Q? Cheers
  20. No Dunedin City VTNZ didn't and like i said, told me its up to the discretion of the warrant person :
  21. Are you sure! half a cent is not a typical number that the govt would use lol and equates to about 20-30cents per tank...i would say with all the shit ACC are in 5.6cents per litre makes more sense! I might hit up the ACC www about it!
  22. Cheers, i think i will do that!! I have normally used VTNZ on all my cars and have never had a problem till now!! :-\
  23. May be easy for you but removing and rewelding an exhausts not too easy for me lol :'(
  24. GRRRR How pissed i am at VTNZ!!! Took my leggy to get a warrent yesterday and it passed everything..bar...exhaust notes(aftermarketBB) Guy told me if i took it to Pitstop to get a silencer, would be sweet....so, i went and did that...Pitstop guy gve it a db reading of 90 whick legally is 93 or 91...either way still legal! Went back to VTNZ and guess what...yep, failed!! Man how pissed i was, spent 60 bucks to get a silencer installed(like VTNZ guy said) and he still failed it...i said to him it was db metered at 90 which he said its up too the warrent person and it still sounds too loud to him and if i wanted to get an indepent test would cost like $350... Only other options is to go back to factory or get an extra muffler put on along the exhaust...what a fricken drama? Oh and the exhaust sounds good, not riddiculously loud or anything and probably 90% of aftermarketed exhausts are MUCH louder.. ANY other ideas guys??
