  2. was looking at selling my b4 and maybe getting this. just wondering would this be a good example to get... not sure if it's a good idea tho. the engine swap is making it a bit sketchy?

  4. yea i will take ur work for it then. was just a lil confused as i know people with AM wheels n no cert... i was thinking of getting these wheels if i was to buy a rx7 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=472184059 .hope there won't be any problems with the cert or wof thats all..
  5. just been reading.. "known and reputable brand non OE item" and "would be considered an appropriate fitment for the vehicle type by the wheel manufacturer".... so im guessing as long as the wheels are made for a certain make and model, then u dont need cert?? how do u argue if a type of wheel is appropriate?
  6. just a random question. y do some cars require cert for AM wheels and some dont? can sum1 clarify it for me plz..
  7. i gave them a call. they dont actually sell clutches to the public or indeed work on them. they only stock places like bnt...
  8. This is probably the wrong place to do this but here i go......... im looking to get a fc rx7 (i know....) and it has a brass button clutch fitted. i want to get a normal HD clutch changed over instead. can any1 tell me some places i can get this done? i tried mazda christchurch. they said they dont have any in stock, however they can help fit clutches for $380 + bring my new clutch. i know jap racing spares have them for $489. so just wanna know who else can i try that wont charge me heaps? or any1 experienced in christchurch wanna help do a cash job?
  9. alyep. in that case i wont get 1 then.. i will upload a photo of it tomorrow. i think i know what it looks like
  10. just wondering if anyone has got one of these on their car? any are they any good? most online description say "By preventing air to escape over the top of the radiator, this cooling plate reduces coolant temperature during track runs and high speed driving. Made of lightweight aluminum and finished in Cusco blue, this plate bolts on in minutes using normal hand tools." just wondering if it's worth me spending $180 on one for track use....
  11. u saying u never had the engine rebuild and turbos replaced once??
  12. if no one here can help me with this then i will most likely have to take it to the shops and get it done there. :-\
  13. i've got a few quotes for around $300 to fix.... whats the name of the shop u r referring to? $150 seems very cheap!
  14. just wana know if anyone here knows or knows someone who's keen to do some minor panel beating work for cash. the bottom of my subaru's front bumber by the fog light is scratched to shit and also has a small crack aswell. car is in subaru's royal silver, and paint matching is very important.. give me a txt on 0276647247 if you can do it.
  15. oh by the way. does any1 know if there are any speed cameras on the road along the coast from chch to picton? or any likely place where police usually sit and wait? (just want to be on the safe side)
  16. hmm. i think if i gave it 5 hours that could be plenty. (rather early then late). if i do get stuck in traffic or whateva. at lease i got some turbos to help me get there on time. ... [quote name='slystiguy said: last time I did it in my sti loaded with gear it took me bang on 4.5 hours, traffic was very heavy an thats fine along the straights but its the hills that will kill you, also got about 600kms to the tank which was pretty nice Lol i always end up breaking out the heavy foot... 600kms is prety good for a turbo car.
  17. i probably wont be stopping much, but just want to know how many hours in advance should i set off from chch so by the time i get to picton, i will have like 30-40 mins to get lunch to find the terminal etc..
  18. im leaving chch on the 21th and was wondering how long does the trip normally take in a car? i want to know when i should leave christchurch so i can get there in time for my ferry.
  19. armstrong subaru did mine for a little over $2000. thats the full cambelt change and 100,000k service. very friendly and professional people and only took 1 day to do. would recommend
  20. ring firestone, tony tyres or mag and tyres for a quote and advice as they are expert on tyres.
  21. get some champiro GT radial. good all round performance tyres. thats what i running on mine.
  22. Just 1 thing. mag and turbo don't do 100,000 ks services. meaning they dont do gearbox, diff, power steering fluids etc... only engine. you could go to oil changers or armstrong to get it done. i think the 100,000ks service at armstrong cost like $700-800 where as oil changers charge like $500-600 (up to you) the TT legacy is actually quite hard to modify so probably best to leave it as it is. bov could be fun! haha y not
  23. if you consider new zealand's climate and also your type of car and milage, i would say 10 30w would do the job just fine(thats what i run in mine). as for brand, you could pick up a 5l oil and filter from subaru from around $90 which is probably your best option, or you could get some aftermarket oil from repco, such as Valvoline, nulon or castrol edge etc.. usually subaru's are serviced every 10,000 ks but it depends on many conditions. some people tend to change the oil at around the 5000k mark.
  24. if you are going to take the car to a track, be ready for some mean understeer. because your car is standard and (lets be honest) its a heavy thing, it might not handle as well as you hope. if you decide that your car is gona be a keeper, then it would probably be worth it to get some aftermarket coil overs fitted to the car to lower and stiffen the ride. it will make a HUGE difference on a track with a good suspension set up.
