  1. Also if anyone from Q'Town or Invers could post dates that suit them for us to come over it would be good too. I'm assuming Invers people would organise their own cruise up and back via kingston though if there was anyone coming?
  2. I was wondering if we could get enough people interested in a cruise over to Queenstown for a weekend as there has been a little bit of interest shown? If people think it would be a good idea then I could do some research in my spare time to find out prices of accommodation for one night and a day on the snow. My current (rough) outline: - Early morning depart Dunedin - Stop for breakfast and/or photos in Alexandra - Arrive in Q'town and sort out ski passes and/or rental gear for people that need it - Meet up with Q'Town members (and Invers if any want to come up) and cruise up to Coronet or Remarks (Remarks is cheaper but road less suited for lowered cars) - Spend the day on the slopes (possibly good time for more photos of cars with snow around and all that fancy sh*t) - Get awesome and have a night on the town (a CS member owns a nightclub in Q'Town that it would be rude not to visit!) - Sleep - Recover from hangover - Cruise to Glenorchy for late breakfast/photos - Cruise back to Q'Town and go separate ways from Q'Town and Invers members - Cruise back to Dunedin via Crown Range for more photos and lunch in Wanaka Any other ideas are welcomed. If your keen please post here and say when would or wouldn't be most suitable for you so that the date best suited to most people could be arranged...
  3. depends if people could make a weekend out of it or not i guess. maybe head over early sat morning, meet up with qtown people, day on the snow, night on the town, then a day trip driving out to glenorchy for CS photoshoot or something? I don't know how many people would be keen for an entire weekend gone though?
  4. Depending on how urgently you want it done I could lend a hand after the uni holidays if you wanted to do it during the week some time Clint? Also how much did the stuff you have done so far set you back? Have been thinking of doing injector cleaner and afm for a while but never really got around to it/thought it was a big enough deal for me to worry about urgently
  5. Get a motorbike instead mate... ;D Oh Wait?
  6. Wish I had snow that deep to play in in my foz... This is all I had available:
  7. yeah the grit is a huge issue haha. if it's around dunedin hills thats probably what it will be. I get it once or twice each time i go over to qtown. I usually try driving and pumping the brakes, or reversing then braking kinda hard. That usually pops it out if there is a bit of grit in there. dont know if thats a good way of doing it or not but works for me haha
  8. +1 that was my first thought, or a stone chip jammed in there also
  9. Thanks for clearing that up, I sent a message to a mod asking if I should post this thread or follow up with someone else and I understand they have notified the correct people as to my inquiry . Feel free to lock or remove thread as necessary for you to follow club procedures
  10. Also if a Mod or other sufficiently empowered person would rather have this done through means other than a thread such as this feel free to notify us and remove this thread. I don't know how the politics of electing area reps etc work on forums so act as is appropriate?...
  11. Andrew was our rep for part of last year and did a great job of getting meets organised for us here in Dunedin, but as some of you will know he has moved back to Perth. I think we should probably try and sort out a new area rep (from anywhere in Otago/Southland, if not potentially one from each place due to distances between main cities). I don't personally know what the role involves but if a Mod or Area Rep from another region could post some advice for new reps in this thread, and also if otago/southland people could put their name forward in this thread if they are interested in taking on the job? I would put my hand up but I'm am also moving to Perth late this year so don't really want to start doing a job if I can't commit to it. That put's me out of the running but surely there is someone out there wanting to step up?
  12. Yeah I did consider putting up my hand but as Luke mentioned, I'm leaving permanently at the end of the year so I don't really think it's for me. I don't mind helping out but also I don't really have any contacts in Dunedin. I think a local would be a better idea. and in terms of getting together for a run up the mountain I reckon that would be sick. Make a trip to Q'Town and get together with a few of the guys from over there. have a few (read lots) of drinks and some boarding, plus some of the best scenery/roads in the country...
  13. s*** no. Just amazed that there are active members still doing them. I remember hearing of a huge exodus of Dunedin crew heading North for greener pastures. Then silence. There are still attempts... Last year was good, but alot of people have moved on and/or graduated uni. I'm leaving next year but I'm sure there will always be a few locals
  14. ill either still be over there or keen for a second trip haha. my goal is for over 40 days this winter, dont think ill make it past 30-35 though
  15. I'm arriving on the evening of the 21st June, will be there for at least a week (possibly more). Anyone wanting a meet let me know on here... On that note, if anyone wants a ride to qtown that thursday night let me know also, ill have a bit of spare space but dont have a ride home for ya unless you stay the whole time haha
  16. Andrew was organising them as the Otago Rep, but he's since moved back to Perth and we haven't really organised any replacement. I've put a few posts up but ended up not making one of the meets and only me and Subiesti turned up to the last one. I'm keen for a few mid week runs still but my weekends are out now due a moderate/severe addiction to snowboarding.
  17. i leave wednesday so i wont be around for a while. drinks at the terrace was a reasonably good meet/catch up. i think that was the last one i went to down here...
  18. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME haha... Which night club man? I'll come in for a visit over winterfest for sure. I'm in Q'Town from the 21st onwards
  19. Yeah i have tow rope. Need new chains (or repairs) after breaking a ladder today while towing someone out. If there is alot of snow or it has been compacted then dont do up the steep hill on cargill (especially without chains). I didn't bother with chains on the way down today and it was a little dicey. up around lee stream is good, went there with andrew last year and soo lives out that way somewhere
  20. I'm keen. Who's going to be around over winterfest? I'll be over for most of that and then as many weekends as possible afterwards
  21. if the road conditions say you need chains or you think you might need them then put them on the front...
