Is there a reason why you could not make lines out of Refrigeration copper pipe?.
Either hard or soft drawn..
that is still sized in imperial... and is thicker to cope with high pressures in Fridge systems.
you wait 30 seconds..??
How bout being nice to the car and let it warm up on a cold morning before you drive it.
3-4 min is all thats required dude.
I have done this to all my cars from day one.
Too many people jump in cars these days stone cold and give them hell right out of the driveway.....
Put it this way.......
Most people warm up before they exercise why not let your car warm up too...
Oh ok. Only trouble is if I use the 16bit ecu I won't be able to use the chip I have in the 8 bit at the moment.
The chip I currently use ups my. Boost to 14psi on the standard boost controller.
Don't like the idea of putting in a tap..
I should have my shit together by then...
Mrs is working 6 days a week at the moment so life is kinda busy.
You thought about doing a round of the Road And Track sprints?
Only Dane and I there last round.
Would be good to get as many clubsub people as possible there.
Put on a good show.. Maybe....
Gas Sounds about right..
My old girl is thirsty as!
if i had known you were running i would have made an effort to come see ya.
I'm such a lazy prick it's like a 20 min drive from Ashhurst to vinegar hill. ;D
I'm betting it was surge...
I was getting it at Manfield when i ran below 1/4 tank
depending on what line i took into the hairpin.
My symptoms were the same as what you describe. no sign of a problem then bang just nothing under the foot for about 3-4 seconds.
I just had a look at the results.. You did good.
I really should have been there but couldn't be arsed . LOL
Good article.
My 2 cents.......
If this is going to be your first racecar or cage build. Best advise is to befriend a noted cage builder.
These guys have done loads of cages and know the tricks and pitfalls with lots of different makes and models of cars.
They also know from experience where and how to mount the cage to help with not only safety but also structural stiffness.
I have a case to prove my concern.
A guy living across the street from me deciced he was going to build himself a cage for his car.
He got his plans all sorted and bought the tubing. he and a mate got to work and spent weeks of nights building it.
It wasnt till he went to get it checked for the homoligation a problem was found.
Hoping to get the cage as close as possible to the roof line they could not weld the tops of the joins because they were to tight to get into.
Also the bends did not pass spec.
Long story short....
The cage was junk.
In the end they had to pull out the entire cage and he spent a lot more to get one built by a pro.
He lost quite a lot money on the purchase of the materials and tube benders etc etc etc..
Not to mention the time lost building and removing the cage..
Just a warning.
Doing it yourself does not always work out cheaper.
OK>> i have 2 spare ecu's.
1st says 000 RB2 and i think it is 8 bit model...
2nd says 000 RP7..
This ecu looks completely different to the first.
It seems to have a row of solder blanks that look like the shape of aftermarket chips but no base installed.. 16 Bit maybe?
So my question is..
Which ecu would be the better to use in my 90 rs
Would the speedlab chip i have still work in the 2nd( possible 16 bit) ecu if i install the carrier and cut jumper?
Did you compete in the Otago rally last year?
Nope not me.
Car has been in north island all it's racing life
last big event it did was 07 Dunlop Targa.
