  1. No Problem, let me know how you get on and if all is well I can walk you through reading the rom off your car if you need it.
  2. How to get it all working, this is for windows xp, if you have 7 the only difference should be in instead of c:\Programfiles it will be c:\programfiles(x86). There might be small other differences to do with the driver set up but this should be a solid base. 1. Download RomRaider from https://www.assembla.com/spaces/romraider/documents/caPaLG2Fur4zCDacwqjQYw/download/caPaLG2Fur4zCDacwqjQYw 2. Download RomRaider logger definitions from http://www.romraider.com/forum/download/file.php?id=9892 3. Make sure you have the latest version of java (x86) even if you have a 64 bit computer http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=68735 4. Download ecu flash http://www.tactrix.com/downloads/ecuflash_1433150_win_beta.exe 5. Download ecu flash definitions from http://www.romraider.com/forum/download/file.php?id=9916 6. Extract both the logger definitions and the ecu flash definitions from their respective zipped folder and put them in a convenient place for later. 7. Run the downloaded RomRaider install file, (accept the terms and keep clicking next until install is complete) 8. Open RomRaider logger, (make sure logger is opened and not ecu editor), push no when first warning box comes up, and then push okay and no until the program opens. 9. Click settings, ‘logger definition location’, browse to the file called logger.xml that you extracted from the zipped folder earlier. Push ok and then exit out of RomRaider. 10. Run the downloaded EcuFlash install file, (accept terms and push next until program is installed.) 11. At the end of the install a window will open regarding the Openport1.3 drivers, this is fine just push next, then accept and then continue anyway, you have to do the drivers part twice. Close out of the installer once all is done. 12. Copy the folder called ‘Subaru’ that you extracted from the zipped folder before and paste it into the location C://Programfiles/openECU/EcuFlash/rommetadata, then click yes to all when the computer asks you about overwriting the current folder. Time to hop in your car 13. Plug Tactrix into obd-2 port and the other end into your usb, you should get a found new hardware message, click no not this time when it asks if you want to connect to the internet to look for drivers. Keep pushing next until driver starts installing. Click finish and then restart your computer. Also unplug the tactrix from the computer. 14. Once your pc has restarted plug the usb back into the computer, make sure your immobilizer is off and your key is off and open up ecu flash, the option to ‘Read from ecu’s flash memory’ should now be able to be selected! You will need to buy a jumper block in order to download your rom but logging should work on romraider. My car (V7 STI) uses the 2003-2005 jumper block I think this is down to the US having different years to us but I ordered a 2001-2002 jumper block and it didn’t come close to fitting so an 03-05 is what you want. Buy that from here: http://www.evoscan.com/evoscan-gps-obdii-cables/details/25/1/performance-vehicle-pc-diagnostic-interfaces/evoscan-2003-2005-subaru-wrx-reflash-connector (NZ based company you should have it by Friday or Monday.) Also don’t worry about the warning message that pops up when you start the logger, that only affects the dyno feature of RomRaider which you probably will not be using. Once you get a jumper block I will help you get the rom off your cars ecu, but for now it is all set up and you should be able to log! ;D Blair.
  3. I'll delete my copies and reinstall them and write down all the steps for you, for memory you only need the flash connectors if you are reading or writing a rom (same goes for green connectors). I know this is what you are wanting to do but romraider should work without these as well as the ecu buttons not being greyed out in EcuFlash.
  4. No chance you are located in Christchurch are you? So the logger and ecuflash wont work but Learning view will?
  5. First link should fix your ecuflash issue.
  6. Yes, then go here http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3808 and then here http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=360 Instructions are on the page, that could be why EcuFlash isn't working.
  7. That should rule that out, I always connect cable then start ecu flash and the buttons are there for me. Can you log on RomRaider?
  8. Download learning view from RomRaider's website and see if you can connect to the ecu, this will eliminate some possibilities as to why ecu flash isn't working.
  9. Try over at ww.Romraider.com and they should be able to help, I've looked at a b4 rom before in RomRaider but it seemed to be missing alot of tables
  10. I think they are an option from factory on v7 upwards and I believe they become a restriction over a cannon past 6000rpm but still slightly better than stock, the added back pressure of the genome will help with low down torque over the cannon muffler as well.
  11. I have the xfprces 3" stainless TBE, great quality but was quite loud so I swapped the axle back put for a genome, it is now only slightly louder than stock at idle and cruising but if you step on it she really roars.
  12. Make sure the restrictor pill is still in the line between the turbo inlet and tee piece.
  13. It will be fine without a tune as the ECU has fantastic parameters to protect the engine from minor modifications. To get the most out of a downpipe a tune is recommended though.
  14. Genome fitted and trying to sort out a parcel I am waiting for that needs customs fees paid
  15. +1 for Clubauto, Im under 25 and pay $1200 for 15k worth of cover.
  16. Have used Rex price automotive down by Northlands mall on a friends surf, he does it while you wait and takes about 5-10min as long as there is no one else infront of you. Charges $40
  17. Download learning view here http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=7397 Plug your tactrix cable into car then other end into the usb port of the laptop, open up the program and hit connect and it will show stored codes.
  18. As SP00N has said try find out why you are only hitting 15psi and try resolve that issue and then go from there if you still want to adjust things.
  19. On my V7 STI the best thing I did to increase spool was to get the car tuned by a reputable tuner, car feels a whole lot more torquey down low which helps the car feel not as boring off boost.
  20. Have you gone into the logger and then added the logger definition file?
  21. Head over to www.romraider.com and you should find what you are looking for
  22. Picked up my Genome from the post shop and gave it a polish ready to fit later this week
  23. Can't help in reducing lag but in terms of getting work done Tony at RDL Performance is the only person I'll take my car too, really nice guy, reasonably priced and knows Subaru's inside and out.
  24. First of all welcome along and very sharp looking car! 1.With the blow of valve im 90% certain it's a 29mm bung but im sure someone can clarify this. 2. In terms of a front mount the cons out weigh the pros unless you are making alot more power than factory, the front mount would ideally need tuning for, should be certified and will also increase turbo lag because of the longer length of the pipe work. 3.When I swapped spoilers on my car I just gently ripped it off and it came away quite easily, I think the seal might be more for water tightness as opossed to a glue, but yes it is a bit sticky. I didn't need to but you could try getting a little bit of heat to the glue through the use of a heat gun or even a hairdryer. Edit: This is where I got the information on the 29mm bung http://www.xspeed.com.au/manuals/FG-ADM-LBB4.pdf
  25. Definitely worth getting a tune for it as the ecu does pull quite a large amount of timing to compensate for 95 or 98 fuel here. The biggest change I noticed with mine is the huge increase in low down torque over factory.
