Here is the story.
I was driving 20 minutes this evening, when I got to my destination in Botany. When I got there I had to drive around the carpark and over some rather large speed bumps to then turn around and back into a spot. When I got out I could here a fizzing noise and opened my hood and my drivers side top radiator hose had a split in it about 1 - 2 cm long on the bend in the hose. I hadn't been thrashing the car but I was running late so I had been driving slightly quickly. I walked around the carpark and the only water on the ground was from where I had been turning the car around and all up I would guess it lost 2 or 3 cups worth of water judging by what was on the ground. I jumped in the car about 5 - 10 minutes after this happened and the temp then wasn't up and I didn't notice it go up on the drive, but I wasn't exactly paying attention to the gauge. The bottom passenger radiator hose was hot, the radiator was hot as normal and the car didn't smell hot.
What has me worried is the reservoir was dry aside from maybe 3 ml of coolant in the bottom. This makes me think maybe it has had the hose blown for a couple drives and sucked all of the water out of the reservoir.
I have lined towed the car home and it is sitting out side at the moment, tomorrow I will tow it to a shop to do the hose because I am not comfortable bleeding the cooling system on my own.
What I would like to know is the % chance that the headgasket has gone again. I replaced the HG 3 months ago. I am just freaking my self out here a bit and want a bit more sound advice.
