  1. was thinking of putting a manual boost controler in seeing if it makes a difference.
  2. ok just hooked up boost gauage took car for a drive and it was showing 7-8psi was told external wastegate spring was 14psi. also noticed my BOV doesnt go off on boost. wastgate still opens but not till around 5000rpm. feels almost like lag can also hear a high pitched sound almost like a power drill sound. could be a leak ?? on idle can feel hot air coming out of he screamer pipe on wastegate.
  3. found one vac hose not on properly everything is plumbed up and running awesomely mint. running a clean and crisp 14psi. thanks all
  4. vac hoses have been sorted out no boost cut or anything. running a clean 14psi thanks guys for ya help!
  5. i have it running to the bottom nipple now.. seems to open at high boost then boost cuts sharply after?? i dont have the purge control solenoid in i have deleted it from the intake (can be put back in.) also not sure if vac hoses are on properly. i have one vac hose coming from the boost control solenoid which was going to the nipple. do i put a 'T' section in? and run it to both the wastegate and nipple back to the solenoid. Setup im using was TT to single convesion reused all the solenoids in the conversion threads and are not using any type of manual boost controller. Also i think its running low on gas almost empty.
  6. ok finally sorted out the car i have it idling perfect i think vac hoses are all plumbed up correct it drives well but i havent sorted out the external wastegate getting a kinda boost cut and the wastegate screams to a point and then boost cuts? i must have it plumbed up wrong??
  7. just out of interest what ecu were you using?? 2S ECU 3plug and purple 3pin afm
  8. i used this trick it worked for me no problems. this should be added to the wiring pinouts/threads its a pain to find.
  9. this link should be lumped with th 4plug TT to 3plug ecu thread has other additional info
  10. thanks gary big help as always also would anyone know the reason for really high idle and hard to start over and seems like a loss of power when "pumping" accelerator??
  11. anyone know how to plumb up a 38mm wastegate external with the TT conversion to single setup using v3/4 gear tdo4l turbo wastegate is the one with two valves coming out of the top and bottom. similar to the 38mm tial ones?? i just bought the wastegate without any instructions dunno how to plumb have just guessed it lol.
  12. well i just wanna say big thanks to Gazzy2000,kamineko,jimbob,leone94,koom and joker if i missed anyone else that helped me with info thanks. I have finally got the BG5a project running! yes its running looking back at it now i must of annoyed the living hell out of some people thanks for not telling me to 'F' off hahaha just need to plum up all the boost vac hoses and find out why tacho's not working. car sounds like a beast. I used aftermarket stainless extractors, split fuel rail mod with greys....., stainless steel turbo upipe with 38mm wastegate and screamer pipe, purple afm , tdo4L with wastegate actuator welded up, 2S ECU and reused alota of twinturbo stuff eg. TPS,IACV,loom etc. will have pics uploaded in the next week or so. much appreciated ! thanks guys!
  13. thank god lol i thought i broke something haha
  14. this is the 2S on the bg5a it still has the 5 plug afm on it with green afm plugged in. was told to run purple havnt got around to putting in yet. 75 is on the bg5 ej20r loom project.. lol sorry again my bad in lack of info.
  15. thanks gary i have double checked all my wiring against pinouts i had printed everything off took awhile to figure it all out i dont have any "spare" wires left over everything is where it should be. ive traced back all the wires and their colours etc. ive tryed to start it while not wired up properly or with diffrent ecus in it... dont ask why lol and i havent wired the 3plug afm in yet.
  16. ok ive spent heaps time tryna figure this out and now have eliminated a few wires B44 - 14 - GND (power supply) - black/white (this wire splits into two one i have already pinned into the ecu) B44 - 20 - Power Steering SW - Brown/yellow B96 - 16 - Multipoint fuel injection control unit - black/blue the car turns on and winds over just doesnt ignite? sounds healthyish
  17. LOL will try haha at this point desperate to get them going haha thanks.
  18. sick of car not going will pay someone to finish it off need running asap. ive tried all the autosparkys in town nothing till much later after new years and cant wait that long.(inpatient i know lol). Also have my uncles GTB wagon BG5 Ej20R loom needs ignitor and coilpack wired up. Both jobs will pay cash for need done asap. contact 0278420648
  19. i failed to mention that the engine was fully replaced with an sti v3/4 complete motor and box. have already repinned the ecu and i get power etc. the engine turns over fine. but arent getting any spark to the coils to get it to fire. So you need to either add an ignitor into the wiring somewhere, or run the internal ignitor coil-on-plug ones in wasted spark. ( wiring shown here ) i have tryed wiring in a ignitor excatly to what the thread says have double checked and dont seem to be getting spark to coil pack. got 12v from coilpack ran it to ignitor and ground from up by the window wiper motor. ran a wire straight to A10 and A9 for the ecu signal.??? and ran wires for the red and blue to the coilpack and ignitor
  20. ok so ive started repinning the EJ20H loom in my BG5a Also not using coilpack mod on this conversion. i have these wires from loom not connected to anything... some i know are from the old TT which arent used again. B44 - 4 - Secondary wastegate control - red/white B44 - 14 - GND (power supply) - black/white B96 - 11 - AT/MT gearselect earth - black/white B44 - 21 - Exhaust gas temp warning - blue/black B44 - 20 - Power Steering SW - Brown/yellow B44 - 8 - Ignition Control no 2 - red B96 - 16 - Multipoint fuel injection control unit - black/blue B44 - 19 - Exhaust gas warning sensor (power) - yellow/red B44 - 7 - Ignition control no 4 - black/red B43 - 18 - Mass airflow/oxy/knock sensor (shield) - black/green B43 - 19 - camshaft position sensor (shield) - grey/red B43 - 20 - Crankshaft position sensor (shield) - grey
  21. yeah on the bg5a it is but not on the bg5 with EJ20R loom it has earths where u say ignitor sits.
  22. hey guys im currently doing the coilpack mod on a GTB wagon 96 with a EJ20R loom i cant find the ignitor wires (A9) and (A10) under the intake manifold in the engine bay the singlebolt coils i pulled off the old TT engine looked like they had ignitors on the coils???? cant find the plug for the ignitor or any of the wires???
  23. would anyone be able to tell me if it would be easier replacing the EJ20H loom out of a BG5a with a EJ20R loom to avoid having to do a more complicated repining.
