  1. Great to see your now a subaru man! I suggest if you want a BOV get a HKS SSQV one they arent cheap see: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/other/auction-504109360.htm but they are good Iv got a 2000 and a 2001 GT Legacy - and they both came with them when I bought the cars - I'v never had any boost issued caused by them either Also to put your mind at ease about the Blown Head Gasket rumor - the 2.5L subarus had more problems with this - the 2.0L ones werent as bad - BUT in saying that the filler caps under the bonnet that are yellow - are YELLOW for a reason - check them and never let them get low and you will be fine
  2. If you look at this the photos have a WRX with 18x8 Geforces on http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/wheels-tyres/alloy-wheels/auction-503316697.htm

  4. A while ago I pulled my Throttle Position Sensor off to clean it (on my TT Legacy) and when i put it back on I didn't put it on properly - e.g. it was on an angle and i went for a drive and the CEL light was on and I diagnosed it and it was the TPS, so i adjusted it so the bolts were evenly placed and it was fixed Just check your TPS and see if its on a dennis
  5. I agree +1000, keep it stock mate, you will only risk blowing it up
  6. Iv just bought a 2000 Legacy GT that had the same issue - idle fluctuating, I replaced the AFM and problem solved!
  7. Oh and look at this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/accessories/auction-502690154.htm
  8. Have a read of this - dont know if the WRX knock sensors are in the same place tho http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,23520.msg327509.html#msg327509
  9. If you can be bothered, pull out the knock sensor and look at it - even just replace it, they arent too expensive.
  10. Hi everyone - just noticed my old car is on Trademe again - think the owner had some code 66 issues cos she contacted me after a while after i sold it - actually was sad to see that car go almost thought about buying it back again! ;D http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=502096368
  11. Hi everybody I'm 95 percent sure iv found my boost problem! ;D I took it to an exhaust shop today and they found that inside the big bore at the end the cone inside was loose and there was a whole lot of spongey wire stuff packed in extremely tight which had collapsed. Im thinking now that the restricting sound was the exhaust gases trying to get past the stuff inside the big bore when we fiddled round inside the bore and moved the con around, I drove off and i noticed the boost readings were slightly different again.
  12. Is there anyone in Nelson who could look at my car for me?
  13. Interesting that you say they're s***ty and gutless - I wouln't call 190+ KW gutless
  14. havent checked for the pills - but dont know where they are all the hoses seem to be in the right place ???
  15. 4 pound if anything - cant work it out ??? ???
  16. Hi Everyone still having issues after installing a new Knock Sensor - I have No CEL now but there is still no boost on the second turbo - please help as its pissing me off also If your holding ur foot on brake and accelerating at the same time and holding full boost the boost will slowly stutter and drop off any ideas?
  17. that answer your question REX-Leggy? - that basicly sums it up - no hard feelings M8!
  18. yeah sure ok but the standard setup does the average street car fine though doesn't it? if cars weren't getting enough air flow then Subaru would have resolved this issue - same with any car company - when do you hear of cars running out of air flow?
  19. sorry I may be wrong about stuffing turbos - people have told me that before thats all - but read this - quoted Once upon a time they were used to replace stock airboxs and air filters as these were a restriction in the intake, with modern design and processes, the restriction is less in the stock item,so replacing it with a pod filter has become less of a performance gain and more of a "bling" factor, there is also a few other downsides to fitting of a pod filter, one being as mentioned vibration, and the damage it causes to your airflow metre, also if the pod in an oiled design, this has detrimental effect on the airflow metre if it is of hot-wire design, and lastly heat the original air box gets cold air routed to it from outside of the engine bay,so with out encapsulating the pod filter in a cold air box and running a cold air intake, you will end up sucking warmer air which will be detrimental to your performance
  20. What ever you do m8 dont install a POD!!!!!!! - will root your turbo
  21. Tell you what why dont you just leave your car standard, the more you piss around with boost levels and things like that the more prone the TT Legacys are to giving trouble - this is why people always moan about having trouble with their cars - because they root them by putting pod filters in and playing with the boost and things like that No hard feelings m8 but just a thought aye!
  22. yes i have noticed that, once its warmed up the CEL will go out but then it will randomly flash on and off when boosting
  23. hi again have just finished putting in the original Air Box in now - (Had a Pod) and a new AFM - that fixed the idle issues - but when I turned the car on the CEL came on and then went off when the car warmed up. I then diagnosed it and it came up withe code 22 which is the Knock Sensor - so I pulled it out and it did look a bit dirty and it was cracked Could this be the cause of the boost issues I'v mentioned?
  24. dont know haven't actually checked that, where do I find them? or where should they be?
  25. Its simple - if you drive it hard around town you will use gas - there is no questions about that - if you drive sensibly you will use less :
