Yeah he must be on leave still like me
  2. yeah dumb eh... I reckon if my car ever needed towing, it would be way better to kill the gearbox.

You traffic light racing dicks should just live with the heat soak and get a life.... or a v8... or just use your cars for racing where there aren\'t no traffic lights.
  5. rbf600 always sells out because everyone still uses it... 660 is not a replacement... just handles slightly more heat. BNT in wellington has both... you generally have to wait for 600 though.
  6. get motul rbf600 not rbf660... way cheaper, and rbf660 only handles 10% more heat.
  7. Stick with stock rotors... znollei will not last longer and will eat your pads quicker due to the grooves. Bendix ultimate are a street pad... get some race pads... if you are cracking rotors maybe your wheel nuts are too tight? maybe your not heating them up and cooling them down correctly... if you have ABS you might be over braking...

My comments about weight/complexity/etc/... where aimed at the whole WAIC thing... I don\'t actually think you\'re going to gain much with another fan... just do what someone above said and make sure the existing radiator fans work better for the FMIC...

    FMIC fan?

How many of your posts are reiterating the same point chap? Facts are facts.............what can i say?...........LISTEN?............Its common sense!.....Use what works best for your application. Simple really...............The Yanks are onto it! Why try and make the FMIC system work better for your road car when its more suited to track work and the WAIC system works better in this application? Because it\'s heavier, more complex, more expensive, less reliable and requires maintenance... Less reliable? requires maintenance? more complex? Please explain. ??? ??? i reckon sooper is correct Consider what is going on here:- Adding a fan plus controlling it. Therefore adding weight complexity and cost. Mr Loner as a 6 year old i reckon you should go back to your play pen! : : ;D ;D It requires more maintenance than a FMIC... clearly as it has water in it. It is less reliable as it has moving parts. It\'s more complex as it just is duh. I may be only six, but look how well I can communicate on teh web already.

  12. What does anyone in Nelson think of this idea? - I was in gisborne the other day and it annoyed me how we dont have even one pump in Nelson with 98 available The population is the same as Wanganui...
  13. That standard setup is RPM triggered???
  14. Does your\'s not come with an auto switch? If you had it running whenever you were on full throttle, I\'d say you\'d run out of water too soon. I used a timer in the blue car... and it worked well..
  15. I don\'t use meth... just water... I did use meth in the old car though, but it\'s too expensive...
  16. To remove a rusted on rotor, there are two bolt holes on the rotor that will separate the rotor from the hub if you screw bolts into them. No hammer required.

    FMIC fan?

There isn\'t any room for a fan... underside has pipes... on top would ruin air flow through hood scoop. My pipes get pretty hot sitting there from idle air flow through the intercooler is what keeps it cool thats why you have it. Sitting still you get no airflow hence why radiators have fans. Sure wouldnt get heat soak like tmic but not my point. TMIC fans been covered. I thought the post was about a TMIC... which is why I deleted my reply... I don\'t care about FMICs...
  18. oh yeah, it\'s called a plunger... what do you mean by 5-10 and 10-20? Are those the parts you meant to replace koom? Looks like this, but not as bad...
  19. Took starter off... opened it up... the piston that engages the flywheel also acts as a relay to feed power to the actual motor... the contacts on the piston and in the housing are as pitted as hell... so I believe that is the culprit... I will try and clean the contacts rather than replace them.
  20. yeah, it\'s just his shitty old motor... who cares if he fucks it.
  21. I agree... it all seems far to high maintenance and complicated. Even if everything was installed nicely and was reliable, under hard use, there\'s always going to be more to worry about... more room for error. I too religiously use the water spray when racing, but if that runs out of water, it\'s no big deal...
  22. oh yeah thanks... it\'s not hard to get the IC off again... I was intending to take the starter off and see how serviceable it looked... but after cleaning the contacts it seemed fine...
  23. Tried to fix the starter motor... there\'s quite often a delay before it starts turning... the longer it\'s been not used, the longer it takes to turn... took IC off and cleaned the +/- contacts... tried to start it 2 or 3 times, and there was no delay... so I thought it was fixed... put IC back on, and it was back to normal
