  1. Don\'t think so... Could be worth checking out though, thanks! Apparently the general insurance excess even if parents were driving is around $250, so same cost as the tire really. Oh well, shit happens
  2. Spent $456 on two new tires yesterday, picked the car up at 12pm. Decided to go to Q-town for a night with mates and on the way back at around 2.30am, managed to have a fairly hard hit on a rock, coming around a blind corner. Goodbye 14 hour old tire, and $228 :\'(
  3. Hi there, Just wanting to see if there are any TS-R experts out there... We have a 1999 TS-R, with an EJ204 with AVCS etc... But, I recently replaced the front brake rotors, and found them to be 277mm rotors? This seems to be the Impreza/Forester sized rotors compared with the Legacy options of 264(I think?) and 294mm rotors... Brake pads were the same as standard size though... Are there any other differences that separate a TS-R from the base Legacy to a GTB or GT30 say? Thanks for the help!
  4. Marky - In each unit, there is a yellow and white strip. if you can see in the picture I put, theres two rows of SMD LED\'s, one white and one yellow/orange, so both colours are in the single unit, does that take away what you were thinking about there always being a black strip? evowrx - I\'m thinking wiring it in conjunction with the normal indicators, so they would both flash in unison
  5. Yeah I thought about that too, wanted something a little different, and don\'t mind the complications of it, but may end up going that way haha
  6. You don\'t like the look? Thanks for that, yeah I was thinking it\'d need a relay to manage turning off the white\'s completely, while the orange\'s flash, then swapping them over... Legality wise, should be right, thanks for the link too
  7. Hi everyone, I have been thinking lately about trying to install a pair of LED daytime lights which also come with and orange strip below, so you can run the white led\'s as per normal, then use the orange led\'s to integrate with the indicators. I\'d try to wire it up so that when you turn say the left indicator on, the white led\'s turn off, and the orange ones for that side flash in conjunction with the indicators, when the indicators turn off, the white leds come back on. Thoughts? This is a 30 second mock up I\'ve done on word haha. I know it might seem a lot of work, and trying to turn a now relatively old jap to look like a new euro, but I like the look anyway, but your opinions would be great! Thanks!
  8. Only run 95 in ours, @ $2.46 a liter... What you get for living in a small town, CRT Card ftw! He\'ll get further on a tank compared to 91 too
  9. Sorry for the possibly silly question, but guessing it\'s a Legacy/Lancaster of sorts? If it\'s an 00\' year, it should be a Rev C...? As far as I know the BE/BH were Rev C and Rev D. And if anyone else can verify this, but I think they print VDC on the fuse box anyway, but it only serves it\'s purpose if the car is fitted with VDC. When you turn your key to ignition on but not starting, you should see 2 illuminated icons if you\'ve got VDC, a car with squiggly skids, and a VDC OFF icon. If they light up with everything else on start up, you\'ll have VDC fitted.
  10. I\'m in Wanaka, could see about coming over the hill, or if any of you have a desire to pop over the hill, it is a pretty good drive, come and say hi in Wanaka?
  11. Same as evowrx here, I\'m curious as to how you\'d do that with a syncro?
  12. Bringing up an old thread here, but this link shows the power curve the sti fixed really, made it more sequential http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~ccgrant/s401.htm
  13. If people want to make a one-off weekend trip over here Wanaka way I\'d be keen to meet up. Could possibly provide a meet venue too, if there\'s interest
  14. Hmmm, well there\'s definitely a clutch reservoir in the engine bay... And lines that look to go to where the clutch belongs? Could be a TS-R feature maybe? Found they\'ve got Impreza sized rotors instead of the big or small legacy rotors hahaha... Weird things
  15. Yeah, that was what I was wondering about... But I don\'t mind it cruising like that on the flats and changing down for a hill... But yeah, just whether it\'s too big of a change. Ahh right. So the turbo clutches will be different from (what seems to be) a standard hydraulic clutch? What is the difference between the two? Thanks
  16. Hi all. In our 1999 BH Legacy TS-R Wagon, 3rd gear has been notchy for a while now, some have said the syncro\'s are worn out? Guessing if this is true, a gearbox swap is the only realistically cheap option? Sure, only 3rd gear is a small issue, but it\'s one of those niggly things I don\'t like haha. If that\'s not necessary, and there is another solution, would anyone know? Also, the oil hasn\'t been changed in a while, in fact can\'t remember the last time it was, though with the problem only being in 3rd, is it oil related? If it comes down to a swap, I\'ve seen a few options around. Now, our engine is a stock EJ20 n/a. I\'ve seen the gearboxes off a turbo are a longer ratio and at 100km/h sit at around 2600rpm, yet our stock \'box sits at around 2900 rpm @ 100km/h. Is it stupid of me to even think about swapping in a longer ratio \'box in replacement of the stock \'box?
  17. Oh cool! That did help, are you using www.superbrightleds.com and all the same bulbs that the guy has quoted?
  18. Bringing up an old post here, but has anyone locally done a LED conversion on these bulbs?
