  3. Hi folks, its that time again. Venue: Burger Fuel Johnsonville Time: 7.30pm Meeting Place: We will meet at carpark by Nandos in the Johnsonville mall and walk across to Burger Fuel. See you all there
  4. Most of the roads in the South Island. I prefer doing a "road trip" down there compared to the North Island. We spent two weeks (in the subby) doing loops around the south island (long story but had lots of return trips around the place due to hubbys job. Some amazing roads, and scenery. And the further south and over to the west coast less cops (well it appeared that way to us lol).
  5. Or save a little more still and get a v10 - we love it
  6. When we got ours (June 2009) we paid $21K for it with 40,000 odd on the clock. Traded it Oct 2010 and got approx 16.5k as trade in (where you don't get as much as you would selling privately but car yard had car we wanted).
  7. Agree that it doesn't sound like a subaru. We had a v8 wrx v ltd and it didn't have that subaru rumble. We have now got the v10 st and have the rumble back again. Overall though we loved the v8, we found it good value for money, good pickup and driving ability. The only fault we had (and no of others with v8 with the same problem is the shocks knocking. It has also been advised to us (by subaru mechanic and others) that the knocking does not cause a problem or dmage its just annoying. Turn stereo up and it eleviates it lol.
  8. [quote name='nickch said: word on the street is that there might be one coming soon.. /quote] You two must live on the same street Or have the same contact person in CHCH My contact person isn't/wasn't from Christchurch

  16. Hehe only guard rolling I have seen is when Kamineko was here at our place and was putting on different rims for a warrant - result = guard rub. Solution, At midnight rolling the guards in our driveway with a baseball bat. Result - it did the trick lol
  17. Waterblaster and lance for under the car is an awesome combination. Actually it was a waterblaster that was used. Surprising how much dirt was found in engine bay when we were doing the engine swap.
  18. He is getting it cleaned (lol) - wish we had that kind of facility after that autocross at silverstream that time - 3 hoses down and the vtnz guys still had frowns on their faces when we went for the warrant.
  19. My thoughts on price etc when buying a car. If you are happy with the price you paid at the time then that is the main thing. Its like when people say (after you have brought something at a shop) - oh that was $10 or whatever cheaper at so and so shop. If you hadn't been happy with the original price you wouldn't have purchased it. We have brought both privately and through dealers, its a choice thing and we choose for whatever reason at the time. Nice car, I am sure it will be much loved and driven with pride.
  20. Glad to be of assistance to you folk down south...
  21. Nah sam take the family for a nice drive up the coast way and make it close® for us lol
  22. Nope we are waiting for someone to tag the new one. I know where it is just haven't managed to take the drive all the way into town to take it. long drive for us lol
  23. If you have the A/C going in winter it clears the windows quicker too.... and they recommend that you have it on at least once a week all year round otherwise it doesn't work properly. Never had a problem with A/C and this is what I have always done.
  24. Don't worry, I put in a good supply of condoms from work
