  1. What sort of led are you running? Man, that's very bright!
  2. Guys neeed your inputs Looking at importing one of these... You think it would comply with nz regulations albeit minor work? http://www.beforward.jp/subaru/outback/bf337466/id/441121/ http://www.beforward.jp/subaru/outback/bf352765/id/457070/
  3. Quick question, fressm says my cc is not activated. Is it a dead end?
  4. I've had the same problem when i got my bp5. But i changed all diff fluids to fully synthetic 75w-80 oils and binding was gone. Try the oil first. Cheapest to replace anyway
  5. Update guys. 2 weeks ago, knocking on the left strut came back. Chris sorted that out then this time right side started knocking again. With the left knocking a bit already. Im just about had it with this rebuild. I had a very good deal with brand new front struts for $687 and just went for it. When subierex was helping me install the strut this came along. So this was causing the knock. It was improperly mounted and was hitting the strut rod on bumps. Not very good.
  6. I dont believe you'll get anything bigger than the 1l stuff... Try to wait for specials. If not it gonna break the bank...
  7. I use the same one for the engine oil. Front and rear diff i use castrol syntrax 75w-90. Smells so bad. But binding was gone which is good. Think you can use the same for manual tranny?
  8. Not about the bolt really, About people being honest. You rounded a bolt which you know can screw up something in the future, at least tell the owner. I wouldnt mind at all. **** happens. Heck i round bolts all the time. But me to find out after waiting 2 friggin hours for an alignment only to be sent away. Not so good.
  9. I had my alignment done by tyre warehouse in Kelston dated 10 of June 2014. Had my front shocks reconditioned by chris of suspension tech last week and thus needing a new alignment. This time I went to Tony's Tyre Service cause I had a voucher for $10. and the tech there showed me this rear toe bolt rounded off. although I can not prove that the guys who did my previous alignment rounded off my rear toe bolt. I am pretty sure they are the offending party. I had not done anything with that bolt since they aligned my car. only thing I can prove was the alignment sheet indicates initial right rear toe vs final right rear toe has changed by .2mm, so somebody must have done something on that bolt. I have Emailed the company. and I am adamant they change the bolt the genuine subaru new bolts. I havent heard from them since. If I don't hear from them, what actions can I take? and any ideas how can I get this bolt off the car and replaced if they won't replace it?
  10. I'd go adjusties. I love my bilstein plus sti pink setup but cost wise i should've gone full adjusties. Costs are: Sti pinks and bilsteins- $250 Revalve and recondition care of chris of suspension tech= $840 Alignment- $50 All other stuff was diy.
  11. Where abouts in albany is this? Need an alignment.... Btw, i got tts re002 in 215/45r17
  12. I got mine fom tony's in auckland, grey lynn potenza's re002 @ $209 each! They beat the price from bridgestone select which gave me $219 per tyre. Plus really good service from tts.
  13. Will this work even if i don't have cc lights on my guage cluster?
  14. @richnorm, how much are you selling the cc switch?
  15. So basically while tidying up the cupboard this morning i found a pair of brand spanking new speakers 6500cx infinity. Been there sitting for ages. The question is, i wanna install this in my bp5, do i need to use the cross over that came with the kit? Or is there some crossover happening thru the wires or my head unit? I know it already has a tweeter and a mid that functions ok. So do i just swap out the old one to the new without using the crossover that came with the kit? Any help would be appreciated. Current setup is Head unit: JVC r500 wired using aftermarket wiring looms so no tapping occurred with the oem loom. Also looking at a second hand underseat sub. Any ideas how can i wire it to the headunit? Or do i need it to run through an amp? Thanks!
  16. An update: cluncking did not go away 100% but i could feel its definitely better than the non revalve ones. Can live with a bit of clunking. Yeah $840 is a bit steep, considering i did all suspension work myself. Droped off the struts at east tamaki. Wonder how much if s.tech did all the work? Additional $350. Now i am wondering if i should've gone to coilover route. Coilovers $1,400-ish plus cert Bilstein $840 rebuild Performance wise which is better bang for buck?
  17. Got my struts back and got it installed in the car last weekend. Brilliant results from chris! Total damage was $840 rebulid and revalve all 4 Thanks for your inputs!
  18. thanks for the input guys, handed all four bilstein\'s to chris this morning. just waiting for the finished stuff.
  19. Anybody heard of dealextreme.com Led parkers for $2 usd (depends) Free shipping!!!
  20. Looking forward for the write-up! Awesome job!
  21. Tommi makkinen in a wrx??? So much win.
  22. Hi everybody My bilstein\'s need a rebuild, think all 4 corners.... My question is autolign quoted me for $250+ gst a corner And I can see that s.tech does reco for only $150? What do you think is the difference?
  23. Finally got a work around on this after a few months of researching This works on bp5... Bought a wagon key from trademe Used an asian workshop manual think it was from subaru club in sg Basically you have to undo driver side floor sill plastic to reveal 2x white single wire connectors, connect them, hold down lock switch, cabin light will blink, press lock button on new remote then press unlock botton. Do this slowly and the doors will lock and unlock to confirm registration was a success and viola, registered keyless entry remote. Of course the metal part of the key wont work for my car cause its from another car. So i bought a cheap flip key from ebay, transfered the keyless entry electronics to the flip key and had a lock smith cut it. Simple. Cost is $20 for key off trademe $15 for flip key blank $20 key cut And i was quoted $500 for this key duplicated and electronics programmed to car\'s keyless entry from a locksmith in albany Ps. You need to buy a key with the same frequency with your original key. In my case i was lucky to get a key with the same frequency. You will need a frequency checker from a locksmith to do this or like me, take chances... I bought a key exactly like mine, no trunk open button.
