  1. Going to Teretonga in Invercargill and just after i posted this i found the trackday thread...DOH! Was thinking Bendix to be honest or Ferodo
  2. So the time has come to do my first trackday in this car and seeing as i have over a month to prep i was thinking about changing my brakes cause they seem to be needing a change soon. Now question is.....What Brake pads do you guys all run when usually on a trackday. I was thinking about Ferodo pads as they have a good heat range for track use however not sure on what they would be like for everyday use seeing as it is my daily driven car. All ideas and input is highly appreciated. Thanks
  3. Im with MAS who are real good and they charge hardly anything for under 25s with a clean history. $460 a year for full cover for a V7 WRX Wagon. Only annoying thing is that you have to be referred by a member who has been with the company for a number of years
  4. Haha Yeah didnt think so. Mostly old school here. I get funny looks from everyone when i drive past. Probably cause my car is a bit loud haha
  5. Hi All! I've recently just moved to the Southland Region from the Waikato. Thought i would say Hello. Brought my pride and joy down with me which is a V7 WRX Wagon in WRC Blue. Get so many looks from people. Don't think they are used to many WRX's. Have seen a few here and there but not many. Are there many meets and things like that down here? Would be keen to meet other Subaru owners and go for a bit of a drive My Girl - http://i970.photobucket.com/albums/ae186/boy_racer693/20141020_073531_zps7c194276.jpg
  6. I've been reading a bit online about these Silicone induction pipes people get for their WRX's. Its mainly mixed in terms of effectiveness. some say you get more air flow into the turbo but others say its exactly the same as factory and makes no difference Do any of you know whether they are a good bang for your buck upgrade or just a visual upgrade? Looking for a few small things i can do to make my V7 wagon alot more fun to drive
  7. Sounds a bit difficult. Is it as hard as it sounds?
  8. Is it hard to convert V7 Reflective headlights to STI HID Headlights? Do the ballasts and headlights just plug into the factory wiring or do you have to cut and solder the wires?
  9. Went to Linkup Paints in Hamilton and got color matching paint for my beast. Really cool bunch of guys and they gave me my exact colour code in a bigish can. So stoked! http://i970.photobucket.com/albums/ae186/boy_racer693/Mobile%20Uploads/20140930_213501_zpsztr5wy8m.jpg

  11. Did you have these same issues with your wagon? or does it have the standard struts and springs? I was thinking about just changing the springs and leaving the standard shocks but unsure if the rear would sag
  12. Wanting to possibly upgrade my struts in my 02 WRX Wagon as they are too high and i have way too much body roll for my liking. I understand with a few models it is interchangeable and that most of them fit however not sure on exactly what can work without too many modifications. My Question is..What ones do fit and what would be the best recommendation? STI Shocks & Springs (Pink Springs)? GT Legacy Bilstein Shocks and Springs? etc All input is appreciated
  13. I do know a good place but its in Hamilton unfortunately. Have a look anyway cause he may be able so sort something out. Good guy! I always go to him and he knows his stuff http://subwrecks.co.nz/stock.aspx
  14. Supercheap Auto Now Sells Plasti Dip We have alot of people asking for it so it is very popular

  17. Owch. Little more than i expected seeing as from work i can get them cheaper but obviously being genuine i will have to fork out a bit of cash Im lucky i can get some gasket sealant and brakleen cheap from work so it guess i would save money there Recently ordered and purchased a turbo gasket for my down pipe(suspected leak) cost me 20 bucks so im happy with that. She is a farily bigish leak so i guess i should get to it ASAP but ofcourse being a student is a tad difficult. Anyone know what i tell the dealer? just chassis # and engine #?
  18. Howdy Guys Its that time where i have to change both rocker cover gaskets in my 02 WRX Wagon. Only thing is i have no idea which gasket to use. I went on the ACL website and they have various ones listed and i narrowed it down to two of them but have no idea which one is the correct one. Some people have said its better to go genuine for thickness etc. Heres the link to all the gaskets i was looking at. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated http://qiklink.acl.co.nz/Modules/Catalog/UsagesSelector.aspx?parent=IT6954&type=TP43&listtype=0&child=IT8263&pg=all Was going to order them from work but thought i should be 100% sure first.
  19. Would definitely be keen on a meet sometime soon
  20. How much did it cost you total? I have a V7 Wagon and im wanting an exhaust for it Ive been looking at stainless exhausts on trade for which were 500ish for a full system but not sure of quality etc
  21. Found out that my down pipe has a small leak. Heard the leak before but wasnt sure if it was the up pipe or down pipe. Only running about 7 psi boost so hopefully that will raise the boost once i fix it...AND i have to do my rocker cover gaskets...bloddy oil leaks
  22. So turns out my intake pipe wasnt joined to my airbox properly. May explain coolant due to the placement. Coolant must have dripped into the pipe and sucked it through. Installed it correctly today and now everything feels back to normal. was thinking of converting to a VF23. What do you think that would be like?
  23. Yes it was definately coolant as i have just recently changed my coolant when i serviced my car. Was 100% green. Very odd that its coming from the intake hose though
  24. Hi all Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question. Not really clued up on turbo cars yet. HOWEVER Yesterday while having a bit of a nosey around at my turbo. I noticed coolant coming out of the intake house that joins on the front of the turbo while i was taking it off. Any of you come across this before or know what it is? My initial thoughts was that i blew my turbo seal as i am running a standard TD04 and the car has done 239000 k\'s so may just be normal maintenance. I have had a bit of a search online and most people have issues with oil leaking but never coolant. No smoke blows out of the exhaust or engine bay so i honestly have no clue whats going on. Anyone able to give me a slight hand to diagnose what the problem is?
