  1. pretty good group... lots of heat from the cops, well there was at the last night meet i went too
  2. certain circumstances like loosing oil pressure? pre start and turn off lubrication is pretty sweet too. They are a bloody effective system (from what i have read) for a cheap price compared to a dry sump.
  3. About the oil starvation.... why not install a accusump? + PBMS baffled sump... problem eliminated right...?
  4. god you should be hitting 14 by about 3500 3800....
  5. i agree a external is abit overkill. But im running a 40mm compgate (plumbed) with my vf30 and im hitting 21.5psi at 3500 and holding that till about 6500 and it slowly drops off from their. no issues at all when its unplumbed either... the issue to me sounds like 1) the computer isnt tuned for the turbo. 2) poor boost control setup. 3) poor mounting of the wastegate.... Edit: what happens if you unplug the EBC and run spring pressure only?
  6. yea SAS just got back to me 2mins after i posted this thread and said its a ***** of a job but possible. The thing sounded bloody savage.. think i might just save for a adrenaline R muffler
  7. think i just found the answer.. its possible but a **** load of work. So mods can delete the thread if they want to
  8. so after being hit with the fact my genome exhaust tip would be choking my 3" system i put my big cannon back on and removed retuned with gotsuby (i did remove the EBC at the same time). car made way better boost and felt quicker... doesn't sound as cool or look as good but i really miss the stock look the tip gave and i really wanna re-install it, so im wondering if anyone has tried to machine out the inside of a Genome tip to flow 3" all the way and tried something similar? or will trying to do something like this just destroy the muffler and make it worthless???
  9. hahah you'll want to be my friend if i end up with a s203 in the future
  10. Have now come to the conclusion i will probably settle for selling my bugeye and investing into a v9 or 10 spec or s203/204... that is if i can find one when im ready
  11. the v7 isn't the best looking shape to be honest and not being a RA or prodrive i feel its a waste of time, but yea i have thought about doing that. The Condition of a coupe wouldn't really worry me as long as it has a straight body... because engine, drive chain etc from my v7 sti would go straight in. i kinda like the thought of a light car with all the goodies of a GDB... if i go with #1 it will be far from factory by the time im done.. #2 is tempting, i would love a rare as f&&k car...i would feel cruel taking it away from factory though! but for the same money as a built weapon...
  12. So as a bit of procrastination from my uni assignments... thought i would start a thread on what i should do about a future car once i graduate at the end of the year.... open for general banter and what your personal thoughts are on my "current ideas". 1) Buy a type-r coupe (favorite shape of all Subaru models) and swap all of my v7 STI running gear. Do twin scroll setup at the same time. Cert it and drive it until iv saved enough $$$ to fully rebuild the engine into a 2.2l with HX35, link + all the goodies.... maybe eventually 22b guards etc.. ORRR FOR a far larger cost 2) sell my v7 sti (might get 13k is im lucky), and buy a spec c v8-10/s203/204/Type RAR.... or, to the disgust of club sub members, i would concider a EVO 9/10 FQ, RS or MR model or a R33/34 GTR Both options appeal to me, however the first would be more a project thing obviously and would be over time. where option 2 would take me at least 5 years if not longer to get the cash together... and then it would be choosing between a house or a car... After people opinions and thoughts, and if anyone has been in a similar situation to share their knowledge.
  13. sh!t ye, sounds awesome in cabin... but sounds even better with a mic stuck in its gob
  14. Few weeks ago now but me an a mate decided to put a external mic from the gopro down near the intake box.... captured so nice noises!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6-_iUQSSCk
  15. for what sorta car? i wished i followed the advice of not getting one and just wiring in a 3-port mac valve and tuning boost through ecu (obviously was easy for me with being v7 sti and knowing gotasuby). I ran a Gizzmo ebc previously, was average... just didn't hold boost all that well and closed loop system seemed ****. My boost control is maco now being tuned with the ecu, holds solid and spools quick as hell (21.5psi by 3500) plus i feel it seems appropriate for every aspect of the car to be management by one system. If this isn't an option i would recommend GFB
  16. oh i see, couldn't find what fuel in the thread... didn't have looked and enough.
  17. So was the car tuned on 95? would have a huge effect on ever aspect...
  18. Thats the thing... I never saw them put a wide band up it's arse. So unless I missed that I duno... And when the stock ecu is reading 20psi and theirs or sting 21.8 on first pull? Is the ecu that useless is reads 2psi out? Regardless, I wasn't happy with it all and how they talked to me after
  19. pitty your not In chch... Gotasuby is a wizard with stock ECUs. He may have some solid info on the matter also, maybe worth a pm?
  20. about spec? nothing huge like blowing up my car. so really bad is a bit of an exaggeration. Just their **** attitude and there system reading A/F .5 higher and boost 1-2psi higher than they actually were.
  21. Good point, i wonder what fuel was used... if plugs were changed and condition of coils. Surely if it was misfiring and "stuttering" they would have just addressed the issue with the owners permission to get the most out of it.. hmm
  22. vf37 should be hitting 22psi + bloody close to 3k?! as far as only hitting 16 in 1st... my v7 sti with vf30 tuned to 21.5psi (full boost at 3700ish)...only hits 17 ish in first... 15-16 if iv waited at the lights for ages...! is this a case too safe of a tune... low boost, really rich... running low gain...
  23. gotasuby! tuned both of my v7 sti's with stock ecus. awesome guy and teachs you **** loads about what hes doing aswell... which is kind of invaluable. I personally would avoid spec just because i had a really bad experience with them at a dyno day and didnt like their manner. but hey, theres **** reports about all the tuning companies. just my 2 cents
