  1. Hey guys On the way to work this morning I was sitting at the lights and noticed that the temp gauge was higher than normal, not into the red but up to the line before the red. I did have the heater cranked up full, when I drove between the next set of lights it went down a bit then while idling it crept up again. I turned the car off and on again it it drop then back up again.I did watch it fluctuate up and down quite quickly at one point. Once I got moving it started to drop and by the time I got to work it seemed ok. Any ideas on whats happening, Could it be air trapped in the system? The water level seems fine, hoping not head gasket related! P.S It has a new thermostat and radiator (well about 10 months old)
  2. now up to page 44!! much better Than watching my kitchen rules with the missus
  3. Also is it doing it in one direction only or both?
  4. Im not sure if this applies to subaru, but I had a Duratec V6 with chain camdrive, and that did require the chain tensioner to be replaced/readjusted every so often (can't remember what interval at the mo). I'm guessing this would be part of the 10,000km service?
  5. Where they actually helpful? Is there any point in the end? apart from telling them its a screwed up methodology
  6. Haven't had time to call yet but will be doing this too. Is it a real person you talk to, or do you have to leave a message? Maybe we should try to get every member here that is affected (either Impreza or legacy) to call? maybe if they get enough calls they will realize their mistake (or ignore us like a good government agency)
  7. Found this on page 2 its almost same as bp and forester models. remove drivers kick penal and connect white connectors, close drivers doors and double press remote key. remove white connector, and check. in case of bp legacys the lock switch on drivers master switch has to be held, but bh legacys dont have this. before you do reprogramming check the remote battery.
  8. I think the newer models may have to have a 5th number for the code. Im pretty sure my friend has a BP9 and she just had to add the extra number. Hope that might help
  9. Heres a link to the ACC page for affected vechiles. No Subarus http://www.acc.co.nz/for-individuals/other-motorists/wpc138205#P7_605 My rego is due soon so will be giving them a call to see what the deal is with my car. its not really about the money (my levy still is lower than before) its the principle of the thing! It should be model based in my rightous opinion
  10. Please keep us updated how this goes. It would be good for follow members to see what happens in a case like this. How did you decide on using this place? Word of mouth or reviews on website?
  11. Unless its a red toyota corolla, it won't help then!!. I was thinking Blue or black
  12. Got my new windscreen fitted yesterday (Heated, yay!) and painted up my strut brace mounts, primer grey at the moment, not sure of what colour yet, probably black
  13. Got windscreen taken out then removed minor rust around it. just got to give a final sand and will be ready for new windscreen on monday
  14. Its definitely around the middle of the year, when I google my chassis code it came up as June 1998, and mine is a Rev A BH9.
  15. Good to hear about the CV's, will still have a look at the wheel bearings this weekend. If its just the shocks and nothing to worry about, will just leave them for now. Might show up something in the next warrant
  16. What was wrong with them? were they just worn out? and did you get them replaced or have them rebuilt?
  17. Sweet, will have a look this weekend.
  18. Is there a good way to tell if the bearing is going? something that would be able to be done in the drive, or would I need to take it somewhere to have it checked?
  19. No its completely quiet when driving, which is why I was thinking CV, but all the CV's that have gone in previous cars make the noise at slow speed as well. This only seems to make the noise once the wheel gets past a certain point and it has some weight on it i.e when it gets loaded up on a long left hander
  20. I seem to have developed a noise from the drivers side wheel area. It sounds a bit like a CV going bad, but only when going round a left hand bend at speed (50 kms +). It doesn't do it at low speeds or at full lock (like I would suspect a CV). Is this a wheel beaing or CV. The suspension seems to be all bolted up tight.
  21. Getting windscreen replaced on Thursday on a 1998 BH9 wagon. I can't see any heating wires in the windscreen but have found a switch next to the steering wheel which has a windscreen with a wiper blade on it, I'm assuming this might be the heated window/wiper switch and that I have had a replacement screen fitted that wasn't heated. The question is do I order a heated screen? or just go with standard?. Its getting replaced through insurance so not worried about cost.
  22. Do you mean on the dumb question thread or Clubsub?
  23. Will do, now I know who to contact. Thanks
  24. Does anyone know of a good place to get suspension control arm bushes replaced in Christchurch on a weekend. I have the bushes just need the press to change them over and can only do in the weekend (preferably Saturday)
  25. Sorry can't do that time during the weekday. I could if it was on the way to or from work
