  1. Velvet burger is good n all but Carls Junior is where its at..
  2. I usually run 95 fuel in my car. Would 98 make a difference?
  3. Had a good look a while ago and couldn't spot anything. Even sprayed spots with washing up liquid to see of any bubbles formed. Nothing. Also when I disconnect the battery for about and hour and then reconnect it the car idles really badly. Super rough. When I went for a drive it calmed down..
  4. Yah that's kind of the same with mine. At high revs you wouldn't notice. If its just sitting idle it sounds like it's misfiring and the engine shudders. Its particularly bad at 1500rpm. Above 2000rpm it disappears. I've got no access to one of those cables. I'm just hoping it's nothing major. This is my very first turbo car and I've heard horror stories!
  5. So I removed those 2 filters this morning. Hasn't made much of a difference if any. If there's no codes showing up on the computer as well I don't really know what to do next. I removed the intercooler to have a look at the throttle body. The butterfly valve seems nice and clean. I did notice some oily gunk around one of the seals between the intercooler and the engine.
  6. Cheers man. Might be a bit of a struggle with a broken finger but I'll endure the pain to get rid of this annoying idle..
  7. Cheers for all the replies lads. I'm going to check the throttle body and see if it needs a clean. My old Opel Vectra back in Ireland was running rough and it was down to a very dirty throttle body. Gonna check the AVCS filters aswell. If I take the filters out do I just clean them or do they need to be replaced?
  8. I only installed 4 new plugs last November. I made 100% sure everything was connected and correct because it was such a pain in the hole to change them..
  9. Hey lads. Right, so my 03 Legacy has had a bit of a rough idle for a while. It's not too bad but it's just annoying. If it's idle it feels like it's misfiring ever so slightly. If I increase the revs to about 1500 it gets much worse. But over 2000 is barely noticeable. I've had it on the diagnostic computer and there's no fault codes whatsoever. I cleaned out the MAF today which was pretty dirty but didn't seem to make much of a difference. After I cleaned the MAF I disconnected the battery for an hour to reset the ECU. It idled pretty horrible when I first started it but died down a bit after a drive. Also if I go for a drive from cold it splutters and hesitates a bit but once it heats up its fine.. Don't really know what to do next. It's always serviced on time and had 4 new plugs installed last year. Anyone have similar issues? Cheers lads.
  10. I've got a 03 BP5 2.0 Turbo GT manual and I get about 13 on the open road. Best I've got out of it was 780km to a full tank.
  11. Cheers for the recommendations guys. Off I go to see what I can find..
  12. Howya lads. Looking to get 2 rear tyres for my Legacy GT this weekend. Some 18's. Any recommendations for places to get some? Went to Tonys Tyres on Lincoln Road. Just looking for any other suggestions. Cheers lads.
  13. I'll go to this. Finally get to meet you lads. Hopefully I'll have my new rear tyres by then..
  14. Saw this grille on Japan Parts. My 03 Legacy GT grille is looking worn so I'm looking to upgrade. Would this fit on my car? https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/13028. Here's a picture of my Legacy..
  15. Cool. I'd like to do a few mods to the car. It's stock now. Don't know where to start though haha..
  16. Gave her a good clean today. Looks much better without the towbar IMO..
  17. It makes an amazing difference. Filled up to the brim in Christchurch and got down to Mosgeil in Dunedin and nearly back to Christchurch on 1 tank. Just pulled up in Rakaia to refuel. 750km from 1 tank in a 2.0 gt ain't bad. Got 12.6 km/l average consumption..
  18. Cool. I'm driving to Dunedin from Christchurch on Saturday. Gonna leave it on and see if there's much difference in fuel economy..
  19. Does it do anything for fuel economy? Would it have much effect in a manual car?
  20. So my 03 manual BP5 Legacy Gt has an eco button by my left knee. Does it make any difference to fuel economy or performance even though it's a manual?
  21. Howya lads. Finally got round to removing the towbar off my Legacy GT today. Never used it, didn't like the look of it and was sick of hitting my shin off it. Car looks much better IMO. Anyway, how much is it worth if I were to sell it? I already got offered 100 bucks for it but wanted to see the value first. It's a genuine subaru one as well if that makes any difference. Cheers lads.
  22. Cam belt was replaced at 110,000 so its ok I'd say.
